Reservation Of Names Upon Lanuch

I was really hoping we'd get a chance to keep our character names upon launch, I understand that for fairness charcater information should be cleaned, but i'm rather attached to my name, and understandable Magic will be taken as a name quickly and the launch may or may not conflict with work :<

Thank you Mj, I really hope that it is something that can be done, even if we have to manualy email someone to do it, i'd find it worth the effort because not all of us can sadly login the first minute of lanch, do you think you can keep this thread updated on information about names as it becomes available? I'll be keeping an eyeout :3

Maybe a simple solution is
Maybe a simple solution is to allow beta player to go live an hour early or something, in essence reserving their name etc. and giving them a nice treat for playing early in the first place.

Presumably there will be
Presumably there will be character codes or some such so you can have multiple characters of the same name but the character codes won't be able to match (WoW does this). so anyone can name there character anything, nothing is "reserved" except the account names which are being carried over from the preview to the final version on April 1st.

Ah, I apologize; that was not my intent. Many of the veteran and frequent players are in belief of this as well, and I was merely spreading it further. Thanks for the confirmation -

It's not really fair to those of us who have to work that day then, I feel that there lack of caring about the beta players attachment to there characters speaks of greater issues of apathy for the community to come.

Fortunately I have a character name that I doubt anyone would care about stealing or anything... but I can imagine that other Beta players will try and steal character names of some of the "high-up" players. If it's true that the same character name can be used multiple times then it's no problem, I suppose...

They can't, my first choice
They can't, my first choice was taken, so I've got really no chance to save my name :<
I've already had people come up to me ingame and tell me there going to try to take it!
All names are reserved to the owner player for the first week after release.
