Hello, I love the game Spiral knights, and play it constantly, but I am having some trouble with the game downloading. Since the accessories update, I have tried to open the game from my shortcut, and every time I try, The games downloading error message pops up telling me it tried to download 5 times, and I should try again or reinstall. Well I've retried about ten times, and even uninstalled and downloaded it again. Still, no such luck. This has also been happening with my steam account, and there seems to be no resolving it. I've restarted my computer, tried to play in the desktop, everything. Can you please help me solve this problem?

Whether or not it worked for him, I must say, it worked for me. I came here without a normal SK account (meaning an online one) to report this issue, only to learn that I needed a character in the game to represent me. Being a Steam only user at the time, I had none, and couldn't report it. However, I found this topic, and waited until a response to it to fix my own issue. And, after a bit more work than listed (including unhiding certain files my computer hid), I got it working. And after more issues I'm starting another topic over, I'm finally here to say, thanks.

Same problem, still not fixable in my case with those 2 files
I'm having the same problem as vanloki.
and i tried to fix it with the 2 downloadable .txt files but it did not work for me.
still having the same problem: as it says there were 5 attempts of downloading but it did not work. i already reinstalled it a few times, without any positive effect.
Would be nice of u guys offering another method to fix that problem rather quick ;)

Download both of those files and copy/replace the ones in the SK folder. If it won't download, or the contents look like garbage, then use proxify.com to get the files. Once those files are updated, the other files should download correctly.
The problem usually leads back to ISP running a transparent proxy, and patch server doesn't seem to handle it very well. Proxify gets around this, so you can see the file correctly.
