I just got the idea for this story from a Gremlin character I use in my signups, Amazeltoa.
For reference, 10 Clockwork Cycles = 1 month. 120 Clockwork Cycles = 1 year. Just a unit of time I made up for this story. You can use it too. You'll find out how to use this later.
-A Bad Day-
(Narrator's Point of View)
His name was Amazeltoa. The only Gremlin to have learned magic, ever. No Gremlin had attempted to learn magic before, apart from the simple spells healers used, as this was breaking Gremlin law and was punishable by banishment. It wasn't Amazeltoa's fault. An ancient book of magic, with no name at all, sealed away for millions of cycles, had been found by Amazeltoa in an abandoned treasure vault.
(Amazeltoa's Point of View)
I didn't know that on my 1200th cycle of living on Cradle, that my life would be turned upside down. A lot. That morning, I woke up late for Engineer training. All Gremlins, on their 600th cycle, had to begin basic Engineer training, and then possibly go on to serve in our army as a Thwacker, a Mender, a Demo, or a Scorcher. They also could just become Engineers to work on various Gremlin projects and repair stuff. I was directed towards that path, and I wanted to go there. I even fix my family's elevator when it's broken. Back to my story now. I had woke up late, and had to quickly hurry up to get to Engineer training. It turned out that one of my creations I made the day before had exploded, breaking those of the two gremlins next to mine. So, instead of going to a lesson in my first hour of school, I had to rebuild those two gremlins' and my contraptions. Fun stuff. I only got half of the lesson down, so I had to stay during part of lunch and learn the rest. Then, when lunch finally came, a few gremlins started picking on me, saying that my name was girly and should be changed, and then they stole my lunch. When the end of the day came and I made my way home, my ears were the opposite of the usually perky form they're in. I had already had enough when I got home and my father started yelling at me. "Amazeltoa, you are USELESS!", he fumed. "The elevator broke down AGAIN today, and that's the second time it's happened this cycle!" He continued shouting at me, until tears were streaming down my face. I was so upset, that I ran to the elevator and pressed the preset button that took me to an abandoned Treasure Vault, a nice place that I usually came after school. This time, I came because I was so upset. As the elevator descended, I burst into, well, screams. When I got down to the Vault, Marika, the Mewkat I was friends with, came up to me with a puzzled look. I stepped off the elevator, and sat down on the ground and cried, holding Marika in my lap.

Unfortunately, the momentum from the shot launched the lichen colony from the edge of the level, and he fell. It is roaming the clockworks looking for evidence of what it once was (but unfortunately missing every level with a lichen or jelly on it). -What they know WILL hurt you-
(Amazeltoa)
After I finished crying, Marika perked up and mewed excitedly, like she realized something, and ran off into the bushes. I was curious about what she ran off for, as she usually doesn't do that. She came back holding an old and tattered book in her mouth. The only thing it had on the cover was a few symbols, not from the Gremlin language. But when I peeked inside, it was full of interesting things. I decided to start from the beginning, as nothing in the middle made sense to me. As I read, I figured out that this was a book with magic. It talked about things such as summoning orbs, everflames and some other stuff. If I can remember, the first spell I used was to summon a fireball in my paw. I spoke the words aloud, and as if by magic, a purple glowing flame appeared in my paw. I was astonished at what just happened, and was hungry (metaphorically) for more. But I remembered why I was here, and that I should head back up to my sector in the Factory, as my parents would be waiting for me. I said goodbye to Marika who mewed a goodbye in return, and pressed the up button on the elevator. I got up to my house, and the first thing my father did was hugged me. He said he was sorry that he yelled at me and made me so upset. I forgave him, and that was that. Happy times right? Wrong. Turns out the book I found would get me banished from the Ironclaw clan. My mom told me when I got into the house that the next day, I didn't have to go to engineer training, and that I could do whatever I want. I was happy, as I wanted to study the book more.
The next day, I headed into the Gremlin library, and sat down in a chair in the commons area, and started reading the book. Thank god I had common sense, and didn't practice the spells in there. I learned that I could do more stuff with that little fireball I could summon. Someone must have noticed the contents of the book, and tipped me off to Gremlin authorities, because that night, I got a letter that told me to come to a Gremlin court hearing. The reason said, was that I was allegedly practicing magic. I had no choice but to tell my parents. I showed them the book, I showed them its contents, and I showed them the letter. They looked very grim, and told me they would not accompany me to my hearing. So was it. I went to the Gremlin courthouse, and judging by what I told them, I was screwed. My punishment was to be banished from the Ironclaw colony forever. I was shocked. They said I could keep the book, as long as I left the Factory within 1 cycle. I left immediately. I went to the only place I would have thought of, my Treasure Vault. I got down to there, and Marika greeted me, as always. I scooped her up, and went in deep to the cat statue in the center. I sat there for a while, studying my magic, and learning spells. I heard voices, and my ears pricked. I put down my book, and brought out my purple fireball. I saw two knights, one wearing a robe, and another wearing a strange looking slime coat and a hat. He looked inquisitively at me, so I decided to retaliate. "Who are you?! What are you doing here?!" The Jelly man took that to heart and brought out a vicious looking thorn, and charged at me. The other knight shouted, "Wait, Legion! Stop!" I jumped out of the way just in time, and threw a wave of purple fire towards the Jelly man. I was surprised when he divided and evaded my attack. I had little warning before he crawled on to me and held me fast. I couldn't move at all. I tried to struggle and dispel the Jelly man, but it didn't work. He then started to cut my entire body with thorns, and it hurt a lot. I screamed, I thrashed, to no avail. When he was done with me, I had scratches all over me, I was bleeding from my snout, I had a long scar across my face, and my arm was broken. I laid on the ground while Marika was darting around me wailing. The other knight came over to me and whispered in my ear, "I'm sorry, I saw Basil coming. He can fix you up." I trusted this knight, even though the Gremlins were enemies of Knights. They descended on the elevator, and I was alone with Marika. I tried to move, but I couldn't. My vision was getting blurry, and the last thing I heard was, "Oh, oh my! Poor, poor child!" It had a mechanical voice, and just before I fainted, I felt myself being lifted into the air.
(Basil)
I saw the poor Gremlin child laying on the ground bleeding all over, and the only thing I thought of doing then was taking him back to Haven and helping him recover from his injuries. He had a book and a Mewkat with him, and they looked like the belonged to him, so I took those too. It was an awful thing, looking into those sad, blue eyes, just before they closed. Nevertheless, I took the Gremlin up to my house in the Haven Bazaar, and set him down and his Mewkat on the spare cot I had. I began making medicine for the Gremlin child, consisting of Blaze Pepper, Volt Oil, and a Spark of Life. It was the last one I had too. I also thought about adding Warp Dust, as the medicine always tasted awful, and so I did. I left it to simmer, and began making my favorite Katnip soup.
(Amazeltoa)
The last thing I remembered was being attacked in my Treasure Vault and then being lifted into the air. Now what I saw was that I was inside a house with a tall Stranger in robes leaning over me and feeding me some medicine. When he saw I had opened my eyes, he looked surprised and said, "Good Morning!" I sat up and saw Marika playing with an unfamiliar Bloogato. And then I saw my arm, and said, "What in the name of Cradle am I doing here?"
I always assumed Basil was a nomad of sorts.
name- Robert
race- rock jellies
personality- bashful
bio- a very friendly jelly, escape from gremlin testing. but forgives most gremlins...
Finding Nemo reference in the last chapter :3
Didn't realize that until now...
(Amazeltoa)
The Stranger fiddled with the sleeve of his robe a little, and then explained nearly everything. "I found you, scratched, bleeding and nearly dead, in a Treasure Vault", he explained. "Thankfully, I-". He was interrupted by a crashing from the other room, frantic barking and squishing noises. A rock came out of the door, which I recognized as a Rock Jelly, a failed Gremlin experiment that my father worked on when I was only 300 cycles old. A Skolver also burst out of the door and chased after the jelly into the streets of Haven. Basil told me, "One moment please" and then ran down the street shouting, "Blue, Robert, get back here!" He came back a little while later, and asked the Bloogato, "Bloo, go chase after the other Blue please." The little Kat nodded and then flew out the door after the two animals. "Those gosh darn creatures", the Stranger muttered under his... erm, breath. "Anyway, if I found you nearly dead somewhere and you find yourself here now, I suppose you can figure out the rest", he finished his story. "Anyhow, my name's Basil." I nodded in acknowledgement and said slowly, "Hello... Basil." He looked like he was going to ask ANOTHER question to me, when the Bloogato, named Bloo, or Blue 1 came back dragging the Rock Jelly, which was named Robert, and the Skolver, named Blue, or Blue 2. Basil paid no attention to this, and asked me, "So, what's your name?" I was hesitant, but thought that if this Stranger was taking care of me, I might as well tell him my name. "Amazeltoa", I responded. He looked thoughtful for a second and then he inquired, "Doesn't that mean Moonstone in Gremlin?" Ack, Basil discovered my true name! I looked down while blushing profusely and stammered, "Y-yes." I heard and impatient mew by my bedside, and looked down and saw Bloo. He flew over to the stove, where a spicy smell was emanating and jumped up and down. "Oh, right", Basil said. "I forgot about the soup." He turned the burner off, and poured the soup into separate bowls, one medium sized, for me, and two smaller ones, for Marika and Bloo. Basil handed the medium bowl to me and said, "Drink up, its Katnip soup!", and winked at me. Gremlins have a high heat resistance naturally, so I had no problem downing the hot soup. I looked over, and saw the two Kats licking at their soup, Bloo nearly slurping it. "I have something to ask of you, Amazeltoa", Basil said. "Can you perform magic?" I was surprised when he said that. "How did you know that?", I asked him. "The book I found with you had magic symbols that I recognized." I nodded my head, and said, "Yes, I can do magic." "Then I have something to ask of you, Amazeltoa. "Can you help us Strangers and Knights in Haven with creating new elevators? We only have one gate, and it only changes with cycles. I would like you to make new ones, if thats possible." I thought about it, and I decided I might as well. "Ok, I accept.", I replied. "Good! I had already told everyone in Haven of your presence and what you would do for us!" He looked painfully cheerful.
-1 Cycle Later-
I walked up to the podium in Haven's town square and started telling my story. "My name is Amazeltoa, and I am a Gremlin banished from the Ironclaw colony. I explored the Clockworks a while after that, looking for a place to settle down. Unfortunately, I was heavily injured, in a Treasure Vault (I glared at the Jelly man in the crowd, who looked ashamed), but thankfully, Basil found me and brought me here. I am peaceful and have no intention of killing any Knight or Stranger in this crowd, or this town. Why would I anyway? I'm not part of the biggest Gremlin colony anymore." I walked off the podium, and Basil took my place. "As I said 2 cycles ago, Amazeltoa will help us with creating and repairing elevators. This will undoubtedly bring much prosperity to Haven!" The crowd cheered.
-Dusk-
"Isn't that great, Legion-L! He's going to help us explore new areas!", I said excitedly. "Although you shouldn't have hurt him so much, look his arm is broken." "I recognize danger when I see it", said Legion. "Even if I am curious about everything, I still can protect myself." I was hurt by his heartlessness a little. I looked back up at the Gremlin, or Amazeltoa, and sighed.
-Arus-
I looked at the paper given to me by King Tinkizar. The picture on the paper matched that of the Gremlin near the podium. "Amazeltoa..." "I'll have to have a word with him."
-Amazeltoa-
After the gathering dismissed, Basil brought me back to his house. Marika looked glad to see me, but Bloo wasn't there. "Oh, I have a present for you by the way", Basil told me as he went into the other room. When he came out, he was carrying a pile of clothes. He unfolded them, and they consisted of a black tanktop, khaki shorts, and... oh my god. Purple Darkfang Thwacker goggles. "Well, how do you like it?" I tried them on and smiled for the first time in my life. "I love it. Thank you."
Bump, Firehate, you will be starting the next chapter ;)
Looking forward to the next chapter!
-Distrust-
(Firehate)
I don't trust that Gremlin. Sure, he may say that he's not going to hurt a single one of us, but I still don't trust him. That's why I got a plan to get rid of him. Tonight.
(Amazeltoa)
The monitor next to the elevator was in static when I came back from getting a thermos of Katnip soup. I cursed. I had spent an hour trying to get it work, only to have my efforts in vain. I took a swig of Katnip soup (yes, I drink soup right out of my thermos), and then set it down, when Marika mewed. I looked behind me and saw a knight wearing a Skolver coat.
"How can I help you?", I chimed.
"Oh, um, that's very cool, how you make the screens work. How do you do it?", the knight responded.
I started explaining to him, when something knocked me in the back of my head and I blacked out.
(Firehate)
The small Gremlin's body fell like a Spookat after having my Leviathan Blade sticking out of its mouth. I chuckled to myself.
"Oh Firehate, you awful person", I said to myself. I was almost near my house, when suddenly, a huge weight toppled me over.
(Blue)
I tackled over the Knight carrying the little Gremlin. I knew what he was up to after I saw him knock out the Gremlin, so I chased him and knocked him down. I sank my teeth into his leg and clawed his face until he stopped thrashing. I didn't kill him, but it gave me enough time to bring the Gremlin to Basil's house.
(Basil)
As I was studying my recipe book, I heard the patter of claws on stone and looked up to the door to see an unconscious Amazeltoa on Blue's back. I took him off of the loyal Skolver's back, and put him on the extra cot I had when I first found him. I noticed him stirring a short while after.
"Owwww, my head", he groaned.
"What happened Amazeltoa? I was concerned about him quite a bit.
"I don't remember... wait, it was a knight who knocked me out. He had a Skolver Hat and Coat, I think." Something clicked in my mind. That must have been Firehate.
"It's ok, I'll take care of him for you."
Amazeltoa tried to get up, but stumbled, and thankfully regained his balance.
(Amazeltoa)
Some nerve, that stupid knight had. Whacking me on the head with the hilt of his sword and trying to drag me to his house. I got back to the elevator I was working on, and continued with the blasted monitor.
"Marika!" I whistled for my loyal Mewkat, and she came to me.
"Can you get that little chip out of the toolbox?" She came back with a graphics card in her mouth, and I went to set it. After I did that, I shoved it into the port, and the monitor slowly faded out of static and into the shape of a Four Leaf Clover. I closed the back of the monitor and went home to study more of my magic book.
-1 Hour Later-
I had been studying a while, when suddenly a small slip of paper shot out of one of the pages. I stopped reading about Advanced Transmutation and picked up the paper from the floor. I thought about checking the monitor, so I slipped the paper into my pocket, and headed out with my Wrench Wand. I hand tapped me on the shoulder and said, "You Amazeltoa?"
I looked behind me and saw another Gremlin, dressed in a Dark Orange robe with a matching hood.
"Yes, that's me."
"King Tinkizar told me to give you this." The Gremlin handed me another piece of paper that looked like a recruitment form.
"You have been recruited for the Crimson Order, a high order of Gremlins that surpasses even Darkfangs."
"What would King Tink want with me? I've been banished from Ironclaw anyway."
"For your skills. He knows why you've been banished, and he would like for you to join the Crimson Order." He walked away without another word.
I shrugged and remembered my other paper. I saw a paragraph that looked like an incantation, so I started reading it. As I got farther into the incantation, pain erupted from my back. I struggled not to stop reading it, and when I finished, the pain stopped. I had a weird sensation. It was like... and I looked at my back and screamed. I had wings. Dark. Red. Wings.
LOL. This was a good chapter. (I am so LOYAL, right?)
Oh god. I'm stuck.
Must...read...more...Suspense...too...great...

This revelation drove me so crazy, that the shock of finding out that I didn't see anything anymore made it so much worse. The panic in me grew stronger, and all I could do at this point is clutch my arms around my legs and sob. It was just too much. Everything went against me since I found that stupid book.
Out of nowhere, I could see something glowing orange and getting closer. It felt so comforting and yet so terrifying. Paralysed by fear, I didn't notice that I lost my balance and fell onto the ground. The side of my head hurt a lot and my sobbing just didn't want to stop. My heart beating like crazy didn't help matters, either.
Eventually, somebody grabbed my shoulder, getting my attention and me to look up. Mum stood there in her mender coat, illuminating the room with her staff. "What happened?", she asked me quietly and looked at my teary face. "Did you have a bad dream?"
It wasn't easy answering, as my throat felt so thick. All I could get out at first was: "A dream?" Only then did my eyes take a closer look at my surroundings, and I noticed that I was lying beside my bed in my old room. "Am I not dreaming now?"
She chuckled at my answer and reached her other hand out to me. "Come, get up from the ground. I doubt you want to sleep down there."
I grabbed her hand and let her pull me up, only for me to immediately put my arms around her and my head on her belly. Feeling her coat was so wonderful and made me feel genuinly safe and happy for the first time for a while. Mum seemed surprised of my reaction, but then I felt her hand slowly moving around the back of my head, which just made me want to hug her more.
She chuckled again, then picked me up, sat down on my bed and placed me beside her. "Does it hurt there?", she asked and pointed at my head with her staff. Even though I was sure that the Yes I answered with couldn't possibly be heard, she tipped me cautiosly with the crystal and it was as if I never fell on the ground. My thoughts were slightly clearer now, but they still were very muddy and clouded. Seeing me worried like that, she asked me: "Is there something you want to tell me so you feel better?"
I gulped, calling my dream back into my memory. Quickly noticing I still had her hand, I tightened the grip, as I tried to stay as calm as I could before I started: "Well, there was this dream I had..."
As I told her the story, I suddenly broke out in tears when I came to the point where I was banished from the colony, so Mum dragged me towards her, holding her arms around me and putting my head against her shoulder. She let me catch a breath first before she said something.
"You really think the colony would leave a little kid alone in the Clockworks without being actually able to defend him- or herself at all?", she pointed out, and, noticing I still cried, brushed my tears away. "I wouldn't have let them done that, and neither would Dad."
I knew that she was right, and yet everything in me wanted to prove her otherwise, as the dream just felt too real "But they banned me for knowing magic-"
"So?", she asked, held up her staff and pointed at it. "I know magic, too. That's why I'm a mender."
"Yeah, but it was different magic than this one..."
"Should that even matter?", she wondered. "You're still a child, after all. And even if not, we would probably rather look for a way to use that magic for ourselves rather than banning someone without thinking about it."
What she said made sense in my ears, and yet I still feared that I still was going to wake up in Haven again. Mum, however, saw that I still didn't feel too well and asked me: "What about you finish telling me the story first?"
After a few deep breaths, I managed to continue and told her everything I remembered, including the part with the wings. When I asked her if I still had those on my back, as I was too scared to look behind me and find it out myself, she patted my back and assured me: "Don't worry, your back is fine. No wings to be seen."
I tried to smile, but it only came out awkward and stiff. It didn't change the fact that this dream scared me, but my Mum wouldn't be my Mum if she didn't know how to make me forget this.
"So, Ironclaw doesn't like magic, but Darkfang, the Crimson Order and the King do? Or why would they let you become a part of them if magic was such a bad thing?"
"But that's probably only because he forced them to take me in!"
"And why didn't he send you back to your home colony, then? You apparently didn't even survive a fight against a jelly without help, and no matter how powerful that magic is, you'd still have to learn how to use it." She put me on her lap and hugged me again. "Also, he'd understand that you'd be too young for all of this and that these wings would be too much." Her arms only grabbed me tighter at this point. "And if he didn't, he'd be getting a heavy beatdown by me and your father." I couldn't properly understand what she said after that since she started crying now, too. It didn't take too long before I felt tears of hers dripping on my head and flowing down on all sides. I started to get worried again, as I never saw her cry in front of me, so I asked her concerned: "Mum?"
"Sorry, my dear", she tried to calm me and herself down, "but I don't know what we'd do without you. You're our only child, after all." She struggled with herself and fought the idea of me being gone forever, until she told me: "And I want you to know that I and your father will always love and support you, even if it seems otherwise."
Just as she said that, I started to cry again as well. Hearing my mother say that was just what I needed. Seeing how she comforted me so much already, I knew I just to make up for it, hugged her back while still being held by her and said: "But Mum, it was just a dream. There's no way it can happen. Don't worry about it."
"I know, I know", she replied and brushed her last tear away, before doing the same to mine. "But it still doesn't change what I said."
For a while we were just sitting on my bed like that, almost falling asleep while doing so. Before that happened, however, she looked down to me and asked: "You'll be fine by now?"
I nodded with a big smile on my face. "Yes, don't worry." Then she put me back into bed, kissed my cheek, said "Good night" to me and was about to leave, but I stopped her just as she got out of my room. "Wait, I forgot something!"
She turned around and stuck her wand into my room again, allowing us to see each other's face. "What is it?"
"...I love you too, Mum", and my smile only grew bigger, just as hers. So she left with her staff, leaving me in the dark again, as my eyes started to get used to what little light there was still left. Still feeling that long hug, my head fell onto the pillow and I fell asleep, with no other nightmares to come.
The next day, after Engineer School and helping my father repair the elevator again, I paid a little visit to the Treasure Vault where my Mewkat was waiting. I grabbed and snuggled her upon hearing her meow, but only coming back here made me remember that dream again. What if that book really existed? Slowly, with Marika in my arms, I searched the entire place, with one half of me hoping that I wouldn't find it, and the other just being too curious about its existence.
My wish was not granted, however, as the book was indeed lying behind the elevator, same symbols and everything. After I put her down to grab it, my hands shook, partly of fear, partly of excitement. I couldn't control myself at all as one of my hands wanted to open the book. But before I could even do that, my other hand was quicker and threw it off the edge, with Marika rushing after it and almost falling off as well.
I didn't care how "allowed" magic was now, and I didn't care how much it would have helped. It may have been an overreaction, but I had to make sure that my dream wouldn't actually happen. My anger at the book didn't last too long, knowing that I will never be able to find it again, and instead I decided to forget it once and for all and play a bit with Marika.
Lol, that was my sister, I don't think i'll edit over her post though. :)
That was amazing, Iskender! I hope I have your permission to continue off of your chapter, because that's exactly what I'm going to do! Soon, at least.
I guessed as much. I was actually going to say '...Thats atgatg's sis, isn't it?' but I decided that'd be rude and didn't post it.

-Amazeltoa-
I woke up with a start. I thought I was back in my home in the Ironclaw Factory, with my mother making oatmeal, with a dash of Blaze Pepper in and a Gel Core, just how I like it, and with the book gone and my life finally back to normal. And then I realized, it was just a dream. I was in the house I had rented for myself with the crowns I got from making gates and selling alchemy recipes. Lying in my bed, and what I thought was the Oatmeal was the remains of last night’s Katnip soup.
“Just a dream...”, I muttered, tears streaming down my face at the memory of my mother. And then I remembered the wings. Oh god, the wings. I hope they were just a dream too. I got up, and looked at my back. Those blood red wings were still there. I fluttered them a little, and felt them. They were smooth as a Ash Tail’s coat. All I wanted was to have a normal life, training to be an Engineer. And then the stupid book came along. I hated it. It ruined my life. All because of Marika. No, I can’t blame it on Marika. She’s just a Mewkat. They’re innately curious about everything. And then I realized that wasn’t a dream, that it could happen. I remembered the form that Gremlin gave me. I took it out and laid it on the counter. I read the letter that came with it aloud.
“Dear Amazeltoa; I know that you think you will never set foot back at the house of your birth, because you’ve been banished. I know what you’ve been banished for, and actually appreciate what you did. You’re one of the few Gremlins that have learned powerful magic, and the Gremlin kingdom could really use that power. That’s why Arus has given you this recruitment form for the Gremlin elite army, the Crimson Order. When you have filled out this form COMPLETELY, then please come to Depth 31. ~King Tinkizar. P.S. You’re not banished anymore, if you join the Crimson Order. You can go anywhere you like, once you’ve enrolled.”
I was surprised that King Tinkizar had mailed a letter to me, and actually wrote it himself for once. My decision was set. I filled out the form. And I put it in my pocket. And made the mistake of stepping outside. A group of Knights was surrounding me, all with evil grins on their faces.
“Get ready to die, filthy monster”, the Knight at the front of the group, Firehate, hissed. That’s when I snapped. I unleashed a storm of black hellfire and the knights barely had any time to move before they were burned to a crisp, and their remains dissipating. The only survivor was Firehate. I hated the book, I hated the knights, and I HATED HAVEN. I ran to the Arcade and jumped off the cliff before any knights could catch me. and sped down into the Clockworks. I unfolded my wings, and put them to good use. It didn’t take me long to get down to the surface of the core and open the entrance to the city Amirang, the Gremlin capital.
“HALT!”, the guards shouted at me. I showed them the letter King Tinkizar gave me and they let me pass. I got the the northern end of Amirang and took the elevator down a few floors. When I arrived, I gasped at the rich orange velvet that lined the walls of the office of the Crimson Order. I took a step forward on to the dark red carpet that matched the color of my wings. I came up to the desk and said, “Excuse me?”
“Yes, what do you need?”, the Gremlin at the desk snapped.
“I’m here to sign up”, I replied, putting King Tinkizar’s letter and the form I had filled out. The clerk read both over carefully and then looked up and me and smiled.
“Right this way sir, Arus has been expecting you”, she said. I followed her throughout the rich orange halls and got to an office with “Arus” engraved in a gold plate on a rich mahogany door.
“Thanks”, I said to the clerk.
“No problem.” I opened the door to find that the Gremlin who had given me the form was sitting at a desk and filling out papers.
“Ah, Amazeltoa, I’ve been expecting you! Allow me to introduce myself. I am Arus, a Crimson Order agent who has been tasked with finding you and recruiting you for the Crimson Order by King Tinkizar himself. You’re here to join, I gather?”, Arus asked.
“Yes, I want to join!”, I replied excitedly.
“Good, now sign here”, he said, gesturing to a piece of paper he put in front of me. I read over the contract carefully, and signed my name at the bottom. At that moment, the paper folded itself up, and flew up the vent shaft.
“I already have your... “uniform” prepared”, Arus slyly responded. He opened a drawer on his desk and brought out a set of clothes, that were... a dark orange tanktop, dark black shorts, and... traditional red Gremlin goggles, colored a warm red. Almost exactly like my old work clothes. I tried them on, and Arus remarked, “A good choice by our fashion designer I must say. Now run along, I think your parents are waiting for you.”
“M-my parents? I thought I was banished from Ironclaw!”, I stammered.
“Not anymore. King Tinkizar has ordered for the banishment order to be lifted, and you can freely travel anytime you aren’t working. I’ve decided to give you today off, but tomorrow, I expect you to be here at 8:00 AM sharp.”
“Thank you, sir”, I responded.
“It’s nothing. Now go visit your folks.” I found my way out of the Crimson Order’s HQ, and took off of Amirang’s overlook and started flying upwards to the Munitions Factory. I landed near the elevator, and started walking towards my old house. I knocked on the door, and my mother burst out the door and literally knocked me down. She was crying with happiness, and we stayed that way for the longest time. I pinched myself. It wasn’t a dream. It was real. Thank goodness.
Awesome chapter. Littlerbit? Can I ask what your IGN is? I'd like to mail something to you.
Don't hate us all Amazeltoa, some of us are nice...and not trying to splatter your brains...
I think I'll have to incorporate those ideas into the story. Thanks for the feedback too!
Amazeltoa kind of got really mad, and started hating them because he just had an awesome dream of his mother, and his life was kinda ruined already so he went on a ragequit. :3
Why!?! Why does the ragequiting-on-the-evil-species-with-some-nice-people always begin with a dream about your mum and some terrorist knocking on your door?!
WHY!?!?
