Hello Knights,
seems like my modelviewer is broken again (or rather: can't display newer stuff). Want it fixed? Good! As a matter of fact, I'm currently in need of some community support for an unrelated project of mine. Help me out with it and I'll invest the time to make a v1.3 release of SpiralSpy that should be able to display the latest shinies.

What I need:
I recently published an Android App called Remote Keyboard. It's quite a handy tool for writing your Whatsapp and/or SMS messages via your computer's keyboard instead of typing on your droid. My problem: it is an open source app, I don't make money from it and hence getting the word out with a zero marketing budget is kinda difficult. I want the app to be listed in the search index, but for that, I need reviews and ratings.
I took a look at my webserver's statistics and they say that SpiralSpy was downloaded 400 times this month, so I'd say: get Remote Keyboard to 40 reviews/ratings or more (bonus points for rating/reviewing my other apps as well - they are all open source/non-profit) and you guys got yourself an updated modelviewer :).

Probably not, but if you get something like facebook or tumblr ... ask your friends ;)?

All my apps are open source, they are completely free, none contains ads, none will collect any sort of data.

I would love to get that app, but my iTouch kinda has that feature built into it with bluetooth already.

Oh, and P.S... I've been having some (substantial) trouble getting SpiralSpy to run on my 10.7 Mac since I updated to Java 7. Any tips? ;)

I'm afraid, my app wouldn't run on an Apple device anyways ;)

Well, when it opens I get the normal screen, but the viewer part is replaced by a gray box.
If I try to change the model, nothing happens.
If I try to change the preferences, it crashes when I click m.ok.
Here is the error log on startup.

Ok, I know what that is, I don't know why it happens though. I can't see how it would be related to your java version. Did you install SS v1.1 from my website right into a pristine SK installation or is there HappyApathy's mod around somewhere?

I recently reinstalled SSpy after my computer was broken, placed it in the steam Spiral Knights folder, but it keeps asking me to place it in the SpiralKnights directory. And yes, the spiral knights folder of mine has all SSpy-required folders.

You only get that message if spiralspy does not find a folder named "code" and within that folder a file called "projectx-pcode.jar". If that file is there, chances are that you are not starting up your Java from the directory, spiralspy-1.2.jar is in. You might have to open a commandline, change to the SK directory and manually start SS:

java -jar spiralspy-1.2.jar

PS: Still waiting on those reviews on Google Play.

Telnet is a network protocol, much like HTTP is. However, instead of using a webbrowser, you will need a telnet client. I don't know which OS you are using, so making a video about it is a bit difficult, but here's a list of telnet clients if you are having trouble with the one that comes with your OS:

I suggest using PuTTY. The client should ask you for an IP address and a port number. The app should tell you both. It may take a second to connect, but you should be greeted with some ASCII art.

I would love to show my support... but my phone is old and can't support apps :(

I would like to mention that I have been doing some work myself to fix the issues that have arisen due to game updates and have had some success doing so, though I haven't been able to cover everything due to time and only been tackling them as I encounter and need to fix them for my own Spiral Spy work mostly.

Ok, I said 40, its at 36, but I don't want to lurk the topic any longer. I patched the changes from the latest update in (I hope, it's a fiddly process), so SpiralSpy v1.3 should be up to date with the current client. It's available from the usual place. Have fun.

Uhm... Just to clearify: I (Spiral-Spy) never played the game. A knight by that name exists, but does so only for technical reasons (mainly: being able to post on the forums), not for interacting with other players in the context of actually playing the game. I went through great lengths to make this knight a separate entity since I had zero desire to reveal my real name in game (unfortunately, you can't register domains anonymously). I intent to keep it this way as I have some prior experience with the topic of stalking due to once having been a rather exposed player in OOO's Yohoho!PuzzlePirates.

I use spiral-spy v1.3 at my other computer, and it work perfectly.
But i try to reinstall spiral-spy v1.3 and i open it. Still the same.
And yes i have turning it off and on again.
