I had posted the following http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/99684 under "Technical Issues" because it occurs as part of every patch that is rolled out. I'm cross-posting it here because it involves a link to the wiki and an overall process that includes both the OOO developers and possibly the wiki team. This is as much a OOO wiki as a public one, so my assumption in posting it was that whoever at OOO normally updates the wiki page for new release notes is under OOO supervision/control.
If the process is not so formalized, then the powers-to-be need to be sending advanced notice to the 'Wiki Team' so they can post the data *before* the patch goes out.
On one hand it is flattering that the patch references a player supported resource as part of the interface. But on the other hand the business processes around deploying patches need to adjust for two teams needing the info, or OOO needs to be proactive about editing the wiki themselves (if they are not already).
Sort of a FYI
Cheers
I agree that linking to a page with no relevant information is an error, that should be corrected.
Please also be aware that the wiki has some weird caching issues. When a patch is rolled out, try reloading the release notes web page in your browser, just to make sure that it really isn't up to date.
You're being too generous about Three Rings' not keeping up its wiki. The wiki is theirs, not ours. They make the first drafts of pretty much every "real" article (excluding guild pages, user space pages, etc.). The crucial articles (Energy, etc.) are protected, so that only Three Rings can edit them. Those of us who edit the rest of the wiki are essentially doing unpaid work to document Three Rings' game. The responsibility for keeping crucial information up to date is entirely Three Rings'.
Given that they don't have the staff needed to make a really good wiki, I am glad that they let us help. Being stuck with crummy articles that we couldn't fix would really irritate the players.
