Just out of curiosity, how did you find out about the game? I first saw it on good ol' Kongregate :)
How did you figure out about SK?
when my friend inform me about new dungeon crawler for test, first 500 people can access without key (maybe~ i forgot)
Used to go on Miniclip.com a lot :P Came across Spiral Knights in the Multiplayer section.
Suddenly found it sitting in my Steam Library. I don't remember buying it, though I did buy a couple of Humble Bundles. Maybe it came with those.
A friend who hosted a Terraria server talked to me about it and we played it for a bit (and that's where I got my old name), but he ragequit after losing to the Snarbolax.
Me? I just was happy I got a new game to play and just kept playing it.
Back then there were only two free games. SK and TF2 so I checked them both out. My cpu couldnt handle TF2 tho i really wanted to play it. SK i thought would be good so I downloaded it and it worked fine! when I was playing my first level (in clockworks) , me and 3 other people were 'venturing so it was awesome(playing with playas and killin' monstas' n stuff) :D
A friend of mine uploaded videos of it and I was all 'eyyyyy how is that game it looks cool'
Several months later I actually bothered to install and try it
Ahh, I remember the holiday event of 2011. "How do I pick up snowball?", the motto of the ages. I racked up so many Krogmos and crowns from that influx of players, good times.
A friend linked me a Youtube video and was like "hey you should check out Spiral Knights." She wasn't really a gamer so I was expecting it to be some kind of indie band, hahah, so I didn't click it right away.
A few hours later I remembered the link and clicked it, and was met with the original promo trailer. That was April 3rd, 2011. I woke up the next day and installed it and I have never looked back. :'3
I was going through the various articles on yahoo's home page when I stumbled across this. A few of the games interested me, so I registered for Spiral Knights and another game. Spiral Knights was the first game I tried, and I quickly became hooked. In fact, I didn't even try any of the other games --including the one I registered for along with SK --because I loved Spiral Knights so much.
I eventually got my younger sister to play as well. And thus began the agonizing task of sharing mist and computer time with my sibling :P
When you need free games on steam, you're bound to find TF2, Spiral Knights, and Loadout.
I got steam the first day free-to-play games were released there, so it was plastered all over the front page and I went "sure". :P
I wasn't really interested at first when a friend told me about it during first summer SK came out. Few weeks later I was bored and decided try it out and was hooked. Next day I invited a friend over to try it out on my account and a beautiful 2 man journey to 5* began @_@
Saw on steam. Saw it free. Watched trailer. Seemed interesting. Went on Google. Looked it up. Looked pretty cool. Downloaded it stand alone. Loved it.
My dad saw it on some website. Saw a picture of a "robot". Said I should try it. Played almost every day for 3 years. ~Z
i dont think that sentence is right.
'how did you figure out about sk'? but then your message makes sense so. are you asking how we figured out how 2 play the game or how we found the game (steam, kongregate, ectect)?
please clarify. thank u.
this thread about how do we find out or know about this game (where or what make you know this game exist)
thanks love
some drunk told me to make one so I did and downloaded it from the site whoopwhoop
he told me about it and said it was pretty cool
now he thinks it's boring and childish. I still think this game is cool though!
I was looking for a good F2P game on Aeria Games and this was one of them, after failing to download one of the other games (my toaster of a computer), I decided to try this out. I loved the play style and world of Cradle and was hooked.
I originally found about this game on a YouTube add. I didn't think about it much, so I just moved on. Fast forward one year, my brother finds out about this game by an add on Youtube, like me. He gives it a shot, and liked it. I saw how he enjoyed the game and I decided to try it as well. Loved it, and have been playing it ever since.
I came in through the same ad you did Markus. Wish they advertise more cause it works! Anyways it looked interesting and I really enjoyed it during my first play through and became obsessed with leveling my gear and seeing more and more of the clockworks.
Oddly enough, I came from TF2 just looking for the hat. I ended up staying and playing SK more than I ever played TF2.
I found it on Kongregate.
I just wished I knew the game better before deciding to continue FROM Kongregate, because I'd gladly convert this to the site client anyday.
As a TF2 Player I wanted a hat (that I didn't have to pay for, or instantly tell everyone of my noob/F2P status) and I found this:

Oddly enough, I clicked one of those static banner ads you see displayed on the side of a website, can't remember what site though. I don't normally do that, but I was bored during the summer and thought the game had a nice art style. Plus, it had the SEGA name on it, and I thought "A non-sonic SEGA game? I'll give anything that isn't sonic a try."
Before everyone points it out, yes I am aware SEGA studios make plenty of games other than sonic, including Jet Set Radio, one of my favorite games.
I was searching around Steam for free games at 4:00 in the morning. Came across Spiral Knights, read the description, and decided to download it to play it in the morning. I figured it would last me for a few months until I got Terraria.
Instead, Terraria lasts me for a few months until Spiral Knights updates. Best find in my entire life.
