Give Radiants at the Core in the Arcade based on how long your expedition was

You would get Radiants based on what depth you started from and reached the Core. For example: If I start at Depth 18 and reach Depth 29, I would get 10 Radiants at the end. If I were to start at Depth 23, I would only get 5.

This also means if you ran from Tier 1 all the way to the Core, you would get extra radiants too.

Perhaps something like this:
1 - 7: +3 Radiants per depth
9 - 17: +2 Radiants per depth
19 - 28: +1 Radiants per depth

gods ain't gonna help you, son.

this would be a reat way to promote the arcade, +1.

It gives us
A: a way to get Radiants
and
B: a reason to run arcade

Additionally - What about shadow lairs? I think it would possibly get more per depth than the normal T3 area. Perhaps +3? I dunno.

I don't want to have to commit to such long runs, and I don't want to ever have to mess around in T1 outside of the snarbolax. I do like the idea of being given radiants at the core though. Like if they just put some boxes there at the end of your runs, that would be very much appreciated.

This would give us +49 Radiants for Depth 0-29, yes?

And a +1 down here

0-29 would give 40, since I would assume that the "breaks" would not add any. (Ignore depths 0, 4, 8, 13, 18, 23.)

What about difficulty modes? and +1

Difficulty of the run could allow players to "calibrate" what prizes they get at the end. Hey, just because I'm a vanguard doesn't mean I don't want a lower star item, like, say, elite orbs...ugh. I like the forge crystal idea, let's add orbs of alchemy too!

Of course, the chosen difficulty mode would affect the odds of the normal RNG boxes in whatever depths you travel through normally (no change to current game settings), regardless of the End Prize goal. This idea is just a tweak/control system for JUST the end prize. It might confuse players a bit, terminology-wise, but, once things are established and players are "used" to the process, I think it will be good.

You could have a purple clover prize box drop prizes at the core (x-star level related to difficulty level), along with x-star level forge crystals. That's right! One box! Packed with goodies! Such a great moment of joy! (have a party button so people don't miss out on the popping >,..,>).

Alternatively, talk to an NPC there to get your specific rewards, since a box with specific drop tables per players who join/leave the party at different depths might make the game derp out. I wouldn't know though, not a coder here. They would always turn to face you and wave frantically to get your attention, or something.

You'll get 3 orbs if you start at D0 (joining after this depth = 2 orbs).
2 Orbs from Moorcroft (D1...D8 to D17), and 1 orb from Emberlight to D22 (joining at or after D23 = no orbs for you at the core). This isn't too "giving" really - considering myself and my squadmates get a decent number of orbs just doing a few floors usually (0-2), and the amount of time it takes to go from 0 to 28 is well, a lot of time!

And do the math for the above posters' forge crystals.

Anything below 3* - really? really-really? All the way from the D0 to the core for that? Well...whatever floats your boat...perhaps something to do with how many times you use your ER on normal difficulty...hmm...nah...something else? Any ideas?

Normal - 3* orbs/forge crystals

Advanced - 4* orbs/forge crystals

Elite - 5* orbs/forge crystals

perhaps double the prizes if you never, ever die during the run, never even used your ER - but only in the FSC gate?

Shadow Lairs - double or triple prizes?

Extra Challenge Mode: take away the arsenal stations. Quadruple prizes from depth 0! As long as you never leave the party or die! Mwahahaa. bit off topic, sorry. Perhaps this could even have a timer...you have two hours! Let's play this game! Yes, this could definitely stack with the shadow lair prize double/triple, leading to an AMAZING LOOT GET! Heck yeah! Now I can go from level 9-10 on my 5*! AWESOME. such effort. Wow. (I'm a player that only ever does the 100% option every time). What is that, 102 crystals for just 9-10? yuck. Considering the RNG box prizes from the run, and the guaranteed prize at the end...yes, this would be fair for the effort of such a run, I think.

So, you sacrifice better drop chances on non-elite difficulty mode in order to get what you want in the end, with this difficulty mode idea. Planning ahead is something we should encourage in all players...

Oh! another thought! Key "chaining" - many players greatly dislike the idea of spending E on shadow lair runs. But what if...you only had to do so once, as a skilled player? If you host the lair...and never die (never even us ER - this is cause people can do it on normal, not just elite) - then you'll get another key at the sanctuary, or from an NPC at the core after the shadow lair is completed. You have proven your skills in battle against the swarm - Cradle/Spiral HQ needs you to keep doing so! (Key would only be rewarded to the user of the key during that run, of course). The rewarded key would of course be bound. Problem: key chaining knights charge participants for key cost anyway. Oh well, find friends you want to play with etc. There will always be dishonorable people on the intranetz. Then again, is this "problem" really that scummy of a thing to do? Effort is effort after all.

So again, you'd sacrifice better drop chances in exchange for easier key chaining, if you choose certain difficulty modes over others.

Direct Response to Original Post:
Something like this is desperately needed. It would provide a solid goal outside of the boss levels/ranking up for new and old players alike. And new players have a hard enough time already. Old players are mildly annoyed - imagine the toils of the new players these days. I would not be happy at all. And with the plethora of new items soon to come with the gunner update? And all the potential items in the future? Yeah... +1.

Needlessly convoluted How

Needlessly convoluted

How about giving mobs a chance of dropping rarities bringing them up to parity with treasure boxes?

hmm, I don't feel like it's convoluted - sure, it needs a lot of explanation and tweaks, but the idea is to provide players with a solid goal and even out the workload compared to the past (like really, old players had a SUPER easy time heating, and that method lasted for quite some time) and future unknown items. When studying social behavior regarding improving group dynamics, providing a clear goal is usually the number one key to success and cooperation. I completely agree - I've had more than a few runs get spoiled by just crappy RNG rewards, and individual squad-mates get jealous of each other. It's not a good feeling. It's really not a good feeling to fight all the way down to the core and get almost nothing along the way, which happens rarely, but in a working world, this shouldn't happen at all - that's why we have minimum wage and so on. Well, it's just a game, right? It doesn't have to be complete RNG slaving, though. That's what makes boss fight rewards so great - random loot, but also set minimum token rewards.

As far as letting monsters drop rarities...well, hmm. Why not have that be another blue/green sprite ability...like "heart attack" from the seraphynx, anything hit with it has a chance to drop rarities, with the same area behavior as boxes. IMO, this isn't as good - it's still making the player a slave to RNG, and it would tend to bias sprite usage to the Booty Sprite. But it's something I suppose. If you have a specific idea for monsters dropping rarities, why not post a new thread idea aboot it? Booty sprite! Or whatever is on your mind.
