Ok, peeps! Let's go with this!
Keep any discussion to the other thread.
On your marks, get ready.... OH WAIT!
Everyone's starter area is in a manual base built outside of Haven.
Zombies approach closer, day by day.
So on your marks.... whatever, GO!
The Cleansing [RP] Thread
"What time is it?" Luke blinked as he peered into the fog.
Must be near morning, he collected his gear and pack of little things he owned. Zombies might have good smell, but they can't smell a dirty knight hidden in a strong smelling something plant. He couldn't remember but it had a really strong smell. It made for a good hideaway for the night. He couldn't stay there for long, then his smell might be in more of the area. Thank Vog they were common plants.
Quickly he unfurled a piece of paper, he got word from eavesdropping on two survivors that a fort was constructed. The coordinates were really close. Please don't be overun. Maybe it has an Alchemy machine! Then Luke would be able to work on upgrading his.... something. He hasn't decided what was more essential. He had found two elite orbs of alchemy in different places. Hopefully he could get materials for his shield, or helmet, or maybe his sword.
Clutching his Alchemer, Luke jogged towards the coordinates. Up ahead, he saw lights. There it was! Other people! He walked up to the walls and found some sort of door.
*Knock* *Knock*
Zombies never knocked on the door. Victoria marched up to the gates, removed the locking bar, and swung them open. "Come on in."
[The manual base was as far away from a paradise as one could imagine, hundreds of make shift tents crowded with people who were still shocked by the unexpected pandemic. Tents make up small colonies, with five or six forming a circle, with camp fire in the centre. In one of these camp fires, an old man with silver hair awaited Raige's return. The scavenger knows every secret passages into the manual base, without even knocking the door, Raige managed to scale the tall wall unoticed by Vitoria and the others. Now placing him self next to the man in the silver hair, Raige pulled out a can of mushroom soup from his bag.]
Old man: *raises eye brow* "Woah, Raiggy boy, is that soup for me?" *chuckles* "And how did you manage to circle around wall like that?"
Raige: "Come on old man, you know I have my ways around here."
Old man: *grins* "True, true..." *takes the soup* "...Woah, hadn't had one of these in years!"
Raige: "Hey, old man, or should I call you, Affraiel. Any news on the antidotes the scientists are working on?"
Old man->Affraiel: *shakes head* "No... they are short on blood samples, and one of them asked me if you are interested."
Raige: *intrigued* "Blood sample? Why can't you do it? You are strong..."
Affraiel: *reveals the wound of his amputated right hand* "Sorry, Raiggy boy, my hand was cut off to prevent infection when one of those zombies bit me. Didn't had the time for anesthetic, it hurted like hell... anyway, a cripple like me ain't going nowhere. so, want to take the mission or not? I can't wait to open up the soup."
Raige: *sighs* "Fine, I will do anything for a cure. Give me the equipments and I will get some on my next looting trip..." *exits the camp*
Affraiel: *passes the syringes and glass tubes to Raige* "That is my boy. Now, to open this can-" *bites the tin can with his teeth* "-ARGH! Damn that hurt! Anyone got a can opener for a crippled old man?!"
"Erm, thank you." Luke walked inside the fort. He looked around the crowded area. Then turned back to the Knight who let him in.
"Um, hey. Is- is there an alchemy machine here?"
Victoria shook her head sadly. "I am sorry, but there is no alchemy machine here. We have food and supplies if you need them, along with a record book of alchemy circles. We can also offer some degree of safety." She lowered her head and added, "You are welcome to stay with us. We could use the help."
Luke's shoulders slumped when he heard there was no alchemy machine. "I guess I'll stay, there's isn't much of anywhere else to go."
Food and supplies are good. Luke didn't know about alchemy circles but they might be useful to know about.
"Where is the Alchemy book? I'd like to give it a read."
The shout in his ear a minute earlier had not helped. Sylvan's ears buzzed still as he rolled around in the damp tent. "It might be time to get up, I guess," he thought, cracking his stiff back. He stood up slowly, rising out of the tent. Sylvan's short, blonde hair blew around in the wind. The coldness stung. "Victoria?" He shouted.
"The alchemy book is in the headquarters, that wooden building over there. Here, let me-"
"VICTORIA!" captain Sylvan shouted from his tent.
Victoria saluted Luke and said, "I'm sure you can find it yourself, then. I must attend to the commander."
She returned to the commander's tent and saluted. "Greetings, commander! Did you sleep well?" she asked spritely.
Luke saluted as Victoria left. He walked into the wooden building and saw a bookshelf. He quickly found it and flipped It open. He looked through the table of contents and found a list of recipe's. This could be useful.
He flipped to the pages and started committing his weapons to memory.
"Terrible. But beside the point, where did you just go?" Sylvan asked. "You usually keep shouting at my face until I wake up."
Victoria straightened her posture and declared, "I brought a visitor into our camp. He is presently in our headquarters building researching alchemy circles. I hope that is satisfactory, commander?"
"You don't except just everyone, Victoria! Pretty soon we'll have half of Cradle's survivors here by that logic..." Sylvan groaned. "I'll go talk to him."
He picked up his sheath from the ground, and, strapping it to his belt, left for the HQ.
"Yeah, because Cradle is just crawling in survivors. There must be enough survivors out there to fill a city. Right." She rolled her eyes and followed him into HQ.
They'd find Alexandria, the assigned guard there, salute at the Commander.
As Sylvan passed, the girl winks at Victoria, and makes a cheery wave before resuming her stiff posture, should Sylvan decide to turn around.
It was an odd turn of events; there, with Sylvan, were two soldiers who formerly stood above him. Yet, in the short time they've been here, the cogs of fate had flipped their positions, and now they stood as subordinates to a superior.
[Arriving at the HQ, Raige didn't salute to anyone and avoided eye contact with everyone, especially Victoria, something about the girl just gave him the dark reminder of what happened to his wife and son. Raige could still recall that grim day, the day that he killed both his wife and son.]
--six months ago--
News report: "This is an emergency broadcast, all citizens of Haven please evacuate from your residence. A new deadly disease has taken cradle by storm, so far, 5245 knights have been reported to have re-animated from the dead. If you encounter one of these undeads, aim for the head, it is the only way to take them down." *statics*
[Raige returns to Haven, only to see this News flash in the broken window of a bazzar electronic store, unsettled by the news, Raige makes a run for his home. When he arrived at his house, he realized that he lost the key on the way here, so instead, he knocks the door down and run in with his hand gun ready. As he slowly walked past the kitchen, he saw a few dead infected with several blade trauma, most likely from the kitchen knives, the dead infected looked familiar, it were his house Nanny's and gardener's. Raige walks up staires, only to see his wife and child covered in bite marks and blood, his wife was reliefed to see Raige and dropped the bloody kitchen knife to the ground. She did all she could to protect their son, but it wasn't enough, a bite mark was revealled on Raige's son's wrist.]
Raige: *panicked* "Honey, what happened?"
Raige's wife: *cries* "I am sorry Raige! I tried! But we are both biten now!"
Raige: "It wan't your fault..."
Raige's son: *cries* "Daddy I am scared! Am I going to turn into one of them?!"
Raige: *shakes his head* "No, son, no, you won't! I will find a cure! I promise!"
Raige's wife: "Raige, please, we don't want to turn on you! Please, do it for our sake, we don't want to be turned into one of them!"
Raige: "I am sorry honey," *raises his gun* "Son... when you and mom are both in heaven, I want you to look after her okay?"
Raige's son: *nods his head* "Yes papa."
Raige's wife: *cries* "Please... do it..."
[Raige left Haven with two bullets gone in the chamber of his antigua. And soon the man made base became his home, he has since became a scavenger, but everytime when someone in the camp asked him to get something in Haven, he declined the request. He doesn't want to go back, because he knows he won't like what he finds.]
--back to the present--
"O Fortuna..."
The thief strapped his boots on.
"Smile upon me...today..."
He holstered his guns.
"O...Fortuna..."
Jaxter pulled his hat onto his head. The thief was ready to start his day on undead infested Haven.
"Damn...I'd kill for a drink right now..." Jaxter mused. "Take my mind off things, yeah?"
As he walked through the sense foliage that used to be a city, he spied a group of knights entering a large compound. He heard lots of talk.
'Where people are, there's supplies...let's go.'
A man trudged across the barren landscape of the know deserted Haven, desperately looking for a source of food and water. The sun beat down on his back and harsh winds harshly blew him to the other side. But he kept walking.
It had seem hours until he could finally make out a strange cluster of tents and shacks. He trudged on towards the shapes looking for any civilization. He got closer, and closer. But lack of hydration and food had weakened the man. And his place began to slow until he was crawling. He eventually collapsed and fell towards the ground, dazed.
Sylvan busted in through the door of the HQ. "You, there!" He yelled, pointing at the figure hunched over an alchemical book. "I'm sorry, but you're going to have to-" The stranger turned around. "Luke?"
Luke fumbled his book, and shoved back onto the shelf. Hands behind his back. He turned to see the person who just shouted. Then opened his mouth to say something to explain what he was doing.
"Luke?"
Taken aback, Luke tilted his head and stared at the man. Presumably the leader. His voice sounded a little familiar, but he couldn't place it.
"H-how do you know my name?"
Sylvan stumbled backwards. "But you---- you were dead! How can you--" His eyes went up into his head, and he fell backwards, having fainted.
"Um..... I didn't mean to do that." Luke stammered. He still didn't know who this guy was. He scratched the back of his head.
"Erm, anyone know how to wake him up?"
Victoria smiled warmly at Alexandria and waved back at her. She sure knows how to brighten up a dark day. She followed the commander into the HQ, where an unfortunate scene occurred in which the commander became a woma- I mean fainted like a w- never mind. "Hello Luke," she said to the young man. "How is the alchemy book? Is it to your liking?"
Alex, upon hearing the thud, rushes into the room, and looks frantically around before producing her Triglav and placing it gently...on Sylvan's neck.
"Vog, how did we get someone like this to be Commander?" she grumbles at Victoria before giving a impish grin to her angelical companion.
If Sylvan isn't up yet, she'll put away the Triglav, and procure a bit of Everfrost (leftovers for making the Triglav) before reaching down the Commander's attire and tracing his back with the cold stuff. Now, that would get him going.
I watched from a ledge in the library as the seeming commander of the survivor's camp fainted like he'd never seen a man before, then saw two other knights rush into the room that was occupied by the one hunched over his alchemy book and the faint-hearted captain.
'Well, what's his problem...' I thought, looking at the commander's slump body.
I looked down at them, and I did something very stupid. I blame my thirst.
"Hey!" I yelled from my perch. "Got any drinks?"
Alexandria, from her position, looked up and shook her head while moving her hand back and forth horizontally. Doesn't look like they have any water on them.
Her face then changes from one of mischief to one of alert.
It appeared as though like she recognized Jaxter as someone she didn't know, whatnot with pulling out her Feral Cannon and Swiftstrike Buckler. That, and she was running out to meet him, not in the most warm of ways, but at least she wasn't shooting at him...yet.
Luke looked at the alchemy book, "Yeah, I committed some recipe's to memory in case I found an alchemy machine."
He looked up at the newcomer's voice. Drinks? Somehow Luke didn't think he was talking about water. He shook his head, then turned back to the book on the shelf. He still hadn't decided which five star Wolver coat to memorize. In addition to the paths he had memorized, he also found a couple other helmets that would be better than his current cobalt helm.
The blackness in Sylvan's mind buzzed with memories. Training, Shufflebots, any and everything he was through. Luke had been his best friend before the squad broke. Then he remembered; After his training battle against Shufflebots, he took some parts and made a rough pair of greaves. Slightly after, Luke had lost his and Sylvan had given him his.
Sylvan jolted upwards, immediately rising from the short faint. He grabbed his sword from it's sheath, plating it firmly in hand, and stood up. He flicked the sword up to Luke's neck. "Prove to me you are who I think. Show me your boots."
Luke stumbled and fell backwards. Boots? He looked at his own.
"These?" The worn down boots had a pair of rusted metal plating. It didn't seem to go with the rest of the armor.
'Well damn...they brushed me off like I was a fly...' I thought to myself. 'Not even a drop of rum, beer, or wine...'
"We'll then how to you have any fun when zombies aren't around?" I said as I hopped down from my perch. "Play ball and stick?"
I took the book from the one called Luke, and flipped through it.
"There's a recipe in here, right?"
Luke tilted his head. Fun?
"It has all of the recipe's obtainable. Even rare ones, like the Sealed sword and Pulsar lines. Or at least, from what I've seen."
Sylvan stared. Just then, Jaxter busted in. "There's a recipe in here, right?" he said.
"It has all of the recipes obtainable. Even the rare ones, like the Sealed sword and Pulsar lines. Or at least, from what I've seen." said Luke in response.
Meanwhile, Sylvan's head buzzed. Could this really be Luke? It had to be.
"Luke, it's me, Sylvan. From training."
Sylvan? Luke knew that name. His mind took the name and a young man with the same features as the man in front of him appeared.
"I remember! I remember you being better than a lot of people too." Suddenly the comment about his boots made sense.
"And you gave me these. Sorry their a little ruined now." He stopped, he had rambled a little bit. He didn't know what else to say so he just smiled in a confused way.
"What did you think happened to me?"
"I thought you died......... Well, welcome, friend!" Sylvan said, overjoyed. "Everyone, meet Luke."
Raige: *waves at Luke* "Hi, there, new guy, I am Raige, the scavenger around this place. If you need anything that you can't get in the HQ, be sure to tell me. It is a tough time and we could always use some more supplies."
Psychnade, read here, thank you.

(From you) : 'Well damn...they brushed me off like I was a fly...' (Ahem, you ignored Alexandria coming at Jaxter with a gun? -.-) I thought to myself. 'Not even a drop of rum, beer, or wine...'
"We'll then how to you have any fun when zombies aren't around?" I said as I hopped down from my perch. "Play ball and stick?"
I took the book from the one called Luke, and flipped through it.
"There's a recipe in here, right?"
~~~
So in response to being utterly ignored
, Alexandria has her Feral Cannon pointed directly at his spine, her finger already halfway pressing into the trigger; there would be no missing at this point, even if he tried to spin around or attempt escape. Pretty dumb move for a supposedly master thief.
"There probably are, but...Mr. Luke probably would rather keep these to the people he wants to keep them to, right? Vog knows he might not want it for leeches who take what they haven't earned."
Luke inched away from the barrel of the Feral cannon.
"Well, I would like it if the book didn't get a hole in it. I'll just put it back."
He reached a hand out towards the book in the man's hand.
Edea woke up in the base and thought "I don't know how I was able to find this base in time but, I made it." She walked around the manual base, looking around at the people and what was there. Her dark armor being very easy to spot during the sunlight but next to impossible to see at night. Edea just looked at the horizon, seeing the zombies "Hm... they are getting closer..."
((OOC: I am not too sure if this is fine but, Edea is now in the base))
As I flipped through the book, I felt as though I was missing something. Like something, really important.
'Oh right!' I thought. 'Someone's coming at me with a-'
A cold, steely object pressed against my back, and I turned my head to look at it.
'Gun.'
Luke slowly look the book out of my hands, and I studied my assailant. The gun was flush to my back, no way she'd miss. And even if she did somehow, her sword was out and ready to strike at me.
"So...no drinks then?"
If the gun wasn't totally blocking his sight, Jaxter might see a caramel-skinned, sapphire-eyed girl with messy, long hair tied into a playful ponytail. Seems like these days, just about anyone can be dangerous.
"Well, if you'd work with us for it, as long as Sylvan says the OK to that. And maybe getting handcuffed to someone just to make sure..."
'Aye then, so it's to their captain now, is it?' I thought. 'Alright.'
I turned to the captain.
"I'll work for you or something like that, for a nice meal every night, right?"
"Also, I'm being handcuffed to someone?" I said, looking past the gun at the one pointing it. "Do I get a say in who that is, lovely?"
A mischevious grin runs up her face.
"Nah, deary, but I'd think tha lass just over yonder..." mocks Alexandria as she nudges her head towards Victoria...who was, by the gods HAWT, "...might be interested."
"Alexandria! I-" Victoria exclaimed before she cut herself short upon catching a glimpse of Jaxter. Whoa nelly. She wandered up to him and looked him over. "Handcuffed to him, you say?"
"Maybe I wouldn't mind..." she mumbled, hoping nobody heard her.
Edea thought she could hear someone shouting and slowly wondered to the area, noticing Victoria and others. She thought "What is going on over there?" and hide out of sight, looking to see what was going to happen...
((OOC: Well, not sure what to do...))
"...actually, I think...maybe it's for the best you don't go with Victoria," Alex reconsiders as she looks at Victoria's beet-red face.
"...until she gets over you, and maybe when I can trust you better..."
She pokes Jaxter with the gun.
"Get over him? What are you talking about, Alex? It's not like- hrmmmmm never mind..." She straightened her back and rested her hands on her hips. "What are you going to do with him, anyway? Keep him on probation for a year?"
"If I don't trust him by then, maybe," Alexandria replies.
"So...commander?"
"By then, I expect you two would be..." *ahem* "...Jaxandria."
Alexandria, without even looking, turns her massive Triglav in Victoria's direction.
"He's far from the kind of person I prefer. Far...from it."
As usual, Victoria was always the first one up in the mornings. She unzipped the pouch at her back and poured out the filtered, unrecycled waste products accumulated during the night (sweat, urine, etc.) from her bodysuit, slipped on her armor and did a cursory scan around the camp.
The sky was overcast this morning, which meant daylight would not be forthcoming. The undead were almost invariably active in the darkness, so she kept her sword at the ready just in case. One of these days, I need to get me one of those Skelly shields... she thought to herself as she took in the misty morning air.
Seeing all was clear, she dropped inside the commander's tent to wake him. "Sir! All clear, sir."
(Anyone can be commander if they want, far as I'm concerned.)
