I was just wandering around trying to find a game that similiar to spiralknights, and offline (my router is a potato). And, i came across this thread: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/76581 (however, it was not clear enough and got misunderstood badly).
So how about building an offline version of spiralknights. It will be something like this:
-Exact same game but can be played offline. (that's the point)
-You can only play spiralknights offline by making an offline account. What you do with the offline account will forever stay offline, never get to the main server. That means (obviously) players cant use it to play online. You can cheat your knight a billion crown, but you can only use it offline, and purchase things for your offline knight. No, you cant send that huge load of cash anywhere (online).
- Energy has a fixed prize of 5k crown/100 en. (or any price that you seem fit)
- Rank missions and game content remain the same as online version. The offline game can be updated like the normal spiralknights with similar content.
- At the begining of the game, player will get access to rank mission and arcade (just the same as you play it online). Player can choose any mission from a list and play it anytime they want. (rank, prestige, danger mission, arcade, shadow lair ...etc). Some of the levels has to be unlocked by reaching a certain rank mission (danger missions, prestige missions), or unlocked with energy (like OCH, shadow lairs ..). Since it's offline, i dont mind the price for these missions being higher than it is online.
- Offline pvp mode, why not ?. Like this one found here:
(I cant find it, someone help :((. It's a thread talk about leaving a lockdown game and there will a bots replacing the leaver, bot will behave like monster.
+Striker: Skolver or cub gear, fight like greaver
+Guard: Tank set, fight like Arkus the Trojan.
+Recon: Chaos set, fight like gremlin demo or ghostmane stalker )
- Offline version should come with custom mods that allow players to build their own level and mission (level editor tools and things like that..). You know, since the content is limited, playing them over and over again is, well, not so fun.
- This: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/103357 as a game mode maybe ?
- Each rank missions, danger missions, shadow lairs (basically, any missions that doesnt belong to arcade) will have a leadersboard that show player's stat for each time they finish a mission (times, health loss)

From here is a complete different idea I have for the (never-come-true) offline version and also the current Spiralknights. Since some comments has mistaken this idea for ... something else idk, i would suggest you to pay it some closer attention:
- Since it was started as a coop game (or they thought so), the offline version should have some features for coop gameplay as well:
+Lan coop or pvp: why not just do it online ? Who knows, just add it, since offline game should have it (or maybe unnecessary)
+Add some AI allies/units/bots: They can be mecha knights, some poor knights in the Spiral Order, recon rangers .. or even a knights with particularly chosen gear. Well, normally, as you already know, these AI (mecha knights and Spiral Order knights) are so bad: if they were ever to travel with you, they just mess up everything and best for meat shield only (that's just what i think, but i guess most people find it that way, no ?). So in the offline version (or maybe online as well) of this game, player will be given a command system to control these AI unit. This system should include a few basic:
Overall: These AI units can be selected before starting any missions (that allows AI support). The number of AI you can have is limited and can be increased by some upgrade. Player can have max 3 AI units with them on their mission. Their weapons type, intelligence or their classes (tanky, swiftstrike or 50/50) can be chosen. I dont mind if this have to unlocked.
AI behavior mode: They will make 3 new buttons and put it next to Battle Spirite skills. These buttons can put all the current AI into 1 default type of strategy
+ Put AI into offensive mode: bots will follow player and attack any possible mobs insight. When the field is cleared, they will return to player
+ Put AI into defensive mode: bots will follow player and will not attack anything, they will follow you silently and just simply shields when under attack.
+ Put AI into neutral mode: bots will follow you and return fire when they are under attack.
Chat command can only be used, currently in game, for pure fun (or some many other reasons). These command mentioned down here should have actual function to control AI units.
+ attack command: when the player type /attack, all the AI units will charge foward the direction that player are facing and attack any mobs possible. This also puts all AI into offensive mode.
+ defense command: when the player type /def, all the AI units will come close to player and form a 'meat shield' formation. Of course they will also be shielding themselves. This also puts all AI into defensive mode.
+ I dont know what to call this: when type /follow, all the AI units will return to you and will be put in neutral mode. If you dont do this, they will stay at their currnet spots until receive order.
When a player leaves the AI too far back, they can teleport back to the player, and will be put in neutral mode.
+ direct control: when having at least 1 AI companion, player can enter direct control mode. Basically, player's knight will be put into the 'toggling' animation (the one when you toggle auction house or things like that). While in this mode, player will get to control their battle spirite. Yes, they can move it like moving the knight (mouse or keyboard, you choose). This battle spirite will have extended vision range (camera angle 90 degree from the top, screen will be zoom less to increase vision range). The battle spirites wont be able to use skills (to reduce the OPness), but they can tag mobs by a tag skill (something similar seraphynx's heart attack, the cat pet, just in case ..) or single tag a mob (like turrets, menders ..dangerous subject that need to be killed first, idk ?). After taging, the bs will return to player. When combat occurs, AI unit will attack tagged enemies first. Player can also move AI unit to a certain spot using this method (just in case we have some Real coop puzzle things, which spiralknights currently doesnt have, eh , much ). Also note that, the BS will have limited movement range.
+ more type of AI to unlock. Guess where this idea is from. The first time I see Hall of Heroes, i thought they were a bunch of mercenary that we can hire to go with us on awsome missions with hell-like difficulty that lasts for days, like in this one. Turn out, they are salers.
Basically, you can unlock more special AI units with money, energy, prestige... etc. It will be cool (or frustrating, who knows) if prestige can be reduced after unlock something using prestige points. I would love to have a spiral warden with me to lend me his awsome guardian shield.
This suggestion can be used for both spiralknight and spiralknights offline to make it more coop like. Does it sound good ?
Maybe devs can make a spiralknights offline game and sell it (idk, they can sell it if it has more features than normal version) or just add offline account feature. Needless to say, this may take very long (maybe forever) to come true, but I do hope this one make it to devs' to-do list.

I really do doubt that OOO's would ever do such a thing. They would lose most, if not all of their players (AKA their profit) due to the fact that you could take full control over your Spiral Knights experience. It's pretty obvious as to which everyone would be playing too. Having full control over your Spiral Knights is just a complete godsend compared to grinding for hours upon hours for anything you even want in the game.
And besides, even if they did sell copies with just a single select purchase over Steam or somethin' it would still make them at risk of losing plenty of profit since players can cough up dough multiple times in the actual game compared to just a one-time purchase. Good luck getting OOO's to even think twice about this...
