I'm not asking what gear makes for a good solo set, rather I'm asking what items are easier to use when you play solo, for example; Cutters and Catalyzers are hard to use in typical parties where you can't setup or just have whatever you are after getting knocked around.
Solo gear
Catalyzers, Blast Bombs, and Pulsars generally screw with your teammates because they don't know how to compensate for their usage. It requires teammates to not only pay attention to the enemies, but also disregard the flashy explosions, and also pay attention to the circles on the floor for when things will get blasted around (for bombs specifically). Even with just the Catalyzer and Pulsar, I see that teammates have great difficulty coping with all the knockbacks.
Oh... you're asking for which weapons are easier to use when solo; not which weapons are not so good for team play.
I can't really think of anything that stands out in particular, because I usually just switch to my other weapon if I have difficulty using my current one (and I try to bring weapons that are mutually complementary).
Big Angry Bomb is a good example because it requires a lot of prediction to use 'optimally' (shoving enemies into walls or into the radius of another bomb instead of scattering them randomly,) which becomes difficult in a party.
I use a blaster, mainly, on solo missions.
Read the original post, to understand why you have not addressed it.
For most missions, such as prestige missions, you can solo T3 easily with a set that amplifies your damage... just remember to not get hit. If you have decent 5* gear and skillz then you can easily solo prestige missions and storyline missions (apart from vanaduke ofc). Examples of this are BTS and having (Not necessarily using all at once) 3 swords of the different damage types to cover your weaknesses. Also a vog cub/skolver will really benefit you.
However if you want to solo danger missions/Vanaduke then you NEED status resist and damage resistance. You need to have gear that resists the level's overall damage type. For instance; if you are doing Compound 42 you will want to have Dragon armor because it resists poison and fire and also elemental and piercing. If doing heart of gold you will want to take Dread Skelly because it resists ice and shadow. When you have these armors equipped you will also want trinkets and pendants AND have some good variants to make yourself stronger and cover the loss of your damage from not using skolver or gunner sets. Make sure your sprite is maxed too so you can use the best perks.
I believe you mean heart of ICE there you said gold ^
for my everything loadout I use mercurial mail and a seerus mask (seerus with poison med and mercurial with freeze med)
and I swap between AP construct low, obsidian carbine asi med, and blitz needle
the speed is what makes the set easy to use for places where you need to be able to get out if need be and rush in if you want
Recent posters are not addressing the original poster's point. He's (or she's) not asking which gear is good for soloing. He's basically asking which gear is most disrupted by inconsiderate party members.
well its hard to pull off a one hit killing blitz charge when someone pushes the enemy away every time
same goes for antigua type charges
(defenders with rocket hammers >_>, always in the way)
I generally find myself to be more willing to use underpowered weapons in parties because if things are starting to look grim, I can rely on the help of my teammates. If I'm solo in such a situation, it's not uncommon that I'll have to use a Spark. On the other hand, if I bring powerful weapons solo, I'm never as endangered and I can take on most content without using Sparks. Additionally, I seldom play solo unless I'm speedrunning in which case excessive force is preferable, even in easier content.
By distracting the monsters, teammates can inhibit your kiting, which can really mess up the slower charge-oriented weapons: Divine Avenger, Callahan, Graviton Vortex, etc.
When I was a weaker player, and my party reached the third room of an arena, I always used to say "We're all going to run clockwise, okay?" Now I don't bother, because getting screwed up by my teammates makes the game more interesting.
This is a bit of a tangent, but I find NPCs really hard to play with (for example in High Temperature Hostages). They're always knocking the monsters out of my way. I find myself kiting the NPCs away from the monsters, so that I can return to the monster and attack it without disruption.
It's a good thread idea, by the way.
