Game crashes on most loading screens

I keep crashing on most loading screens, and sometimes even in the middle of a level. Usually I can then just boot up the game and start up where I left off, but it happens so frequently that it is becoming annoying.
I have Steam Overlay disabled, my graphics settings are on minimum, and I play on a Windows 8 computer. I have no idea why the game could be crashing like this, and none of my other friends seem to be affected by this issue.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this and how I could fix it?

I have tried reinstalling it, which didn't seem to fix anything. I don't have issues like this with other games.
No window appears, but looking in my SK folder I found a ton of logs. Here is one from today:
I'm awful at deciphering crash logs, so hopefully this provides ample information?

I think it somehow related to windows 8. Make sure it is up to date.
Try to run System File Checker tool to be sure, that all system files work correct.
kernelbase.dll is a part of windows core which is involved in almost everything, it may cause crushing when there is too much apps launched at the same time (even on background), so make sure your autorun is not too heavy. Also if your PC is one year old already, try to clean it with CCleaner for example.
If you did try everything from above, and still have this issue, then try to change java under your Spiral Knights folder in steam, it could also make game run in 64bit mode (better performance)
1. Go to SK folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\spiral knights)
2. There will be a folder "java_vm", rename it to "java_vm_backup", keep window open.
3. Go to your Java folder (C:\Program Files\Java)
4. There should be folder "jre6", if it doesn't exist download and install jre6 Windows x64.
5. Copy "jre6" folder to your SK folder, and rename it to "java_vm"
If game wont start, just remove "java_vm" folder and rename the "java_vm_backup" back to "java_vm".
You can also try the same with jre8 Windows x64,
or even with x86 versions of jre6 or jre8 (it will be in C:\Program Files (x86)\Java)
Well, this is what I would try to do if I was on your place.

The java trick seemed to work. I hardly ever crash now. Thanks!

You are welcome. System cleaning is still a good thing to do at least once a year.
Could you tell which version of java worked for you, and is game still crushing? Normally app almost should not crush at all.

I used the jre8 x64 version you linked. It seemed to work, and I haven't had any crashing for an entire run of Tier 2, so I believe I shouldn't get crashes anymore.
After crushing should appear a window with error message. Info from it could help find cause of crushing.
Do you have same issue with any other game?
How loud the fans, when game crushes?
Did you try to reinstall it?
