Then I won't make anymore yet..i'll just let mine come out naturally..though I might try and resurrect the Caina ..it was a good concept, and I haven't seen any of it since Zhaver (Crona IC) left
Outnumbered (RP) Discussion Thread
@Diemos You gave me an idea. I will most definitely have something like a soul reactor but a little less.
@Emberbreak The spider form can do dark bolts, but as poisons and toxins that depending on what happens may or may not spread the Swarm and give you the poison effect. The dark bolts in normal form, however, also may or may not spread the Swarm depending on what happens. Creos can only use the dark bolts ten times a day if there is an obelisk within range. The range is a 25 mile radius, but there are very few obelisks because of...things. IF there is no obelisk, Creos can't use the dark bolts at all.
@Ares-Hsg Still, Snake told me Creos is coming soon. Creos is gonna be the avatar of the swarm unless we do something
By the way, a cycle is a page so Creos' next meeting is in one page.
@Saucce: But would Creos will really want to sully his "would-be" Avatar hands at first? I figured you could make the Caina his muscle, sort of like how Tinkinzar had the Crimson Order (wherever the hell they are). And lol I made that electromagnet for your elevator for nothing? Ah well it was time well spent.
@Snakey-One: Looking forward to that playing out
Oh, I'm not gonna introduce any of my new villains until Keep and Caite meet together again. However, I'll make their apps here.

The Silken Queen
Cradle is home to many creatures. Some are organic, others artificial. But then, there also exists creatures that are neither.
Fiends. Their origins are an enigma, they are not like any other creature found on Cradle or Isora. Archeological findings and Cradle's historical records seem to hint that they come from an entirely different world from ours.
And of these otherworldly creatures, one of them reigns supreme.
The Silken Queen is, as the name implies, the Queen, to all fiends from the Greaver and Silkwing families. But that is not the extent of her reign.
She is also a practitioner of arcane arts, these arts allow her to control low-level undead and older Trojans. But that's not all, she can also cause explosions of fiendish flames. Burns caused by these flames will never heal.
The Silken Queen is an invader, a subjugator. She came to Cradle for the sake of conquering it. Similar to the Knights, the Silken Queen seeks to harness the core's power. But unlike the Knights, the Queen plans to use the Core's power as a stepping stone, a weapon to be used to conquer other worlds.
Due to the otherworldly biology of Fiends, they have an innate immunity to the Swarm's control. But that does not stop them from being target to the Swarm's bloodthirsty wrath- not that they're incapable of retaliation.
The Silken Queen's forces are not allied with anyone's. They fight against the Jelly Monarchies, the Knights, Gremlins and even the Apocrea.
The Silken Queen is basically a gigantic humanoid, with a Silkwing's lower body and an insectoid face. But her torso is basically a human's but instead of skin, she's covered in dark exo-skeleton.

Vargas of Damnation
A Knight, or at least, an EX-Knight banished from the Spiral Order. He is strong, absurdly so. Extremely skilled with swords, guns, explosive, and battle tactics.
He was banished due to multiple offenses of insubordination. He is extremely prideful, his ego even borders on narcissism.
He aims to exterminate all Knights due to the humiliation of having been banished (petty bastard).
Due to being banished, he only has the basic Azure Guardian Set, Aegis, Leviathan Blade, Valiance and Nitronome. He was too prideful to learn how to make other weapons and armors from anyone else, therefore he has no other gear.
Despite that, he is still considered one of the most dangerous person in Cradle.
He saw the Swarm's invasion as an opportunity to pick off the vulnerable knights one at a time.
Narwhal
A former Knight with a very.... interesting background. It's too long to write right now. I want to keep this guy a surprise.
Update my other post for increased intel and for ease of reading.
Yeah, I could have both be atagonists.
Who controls Strom while Ember is gone?
And I want smthn to do.. so..
Name: Armerio
Appearance/Weapons: Everything Ares has, except anything that didn't have Shadow before has shadow now. Plus an Angelic Helm which will become his trademark, (for the sake of irony). Also has a Shadow Chomp. Also purple eyes and colours are there in place of Ares's blue.
Who is he?: Well as I stated before (I think), Ares and Chomp had underwent prolonged exposure, and sustained substantial damage from The Swarm. The Swarm influence would usually have taken them over, but Ares and Chomp were knocked out. This simple action saved their consciousnesses and The Swarm's influence lies dormant. He is the arrogance to Ares's low self-esteem, the pride to the self-pity, the confidence to the introvertedness, the aggresion to the compassion etc. As Ares gives in to his darker natures, (Ares has always been darker than his general manner might suggest) by even doing something simple such as not accepting help for a simple task, Armerio's influence will not only grow, but permanently stain Ares's overall good nature. It may even get to the point where they are exactly alike, but just working to different causes. Armerio, due to the circumstances which created him, can be manifested as a singular entity, but I shall not say how (I want it to happen on it's own).
Abilities?: Apart from the general power boosts the Swarm gives, and his extra shadow power, Armerio has a weak Swarm-Controlling capability. That is, he can control something influenced by the Swarm, but the power isn't very strong, so he either has to focus extremely hard, or his target must actually want to do what he is suggesting, or have wanted to in it's subconscious.
Limited Regeneration
And a limited ability to inflict a status of his choosing when he attacks. However this requires focus and even still is not guaranteed.
Dark Chomp.. aside from the powerups, now has a very potent fire, very likely to burn, and also he can speak.
Yea so I think that's it.
So I was looking around for a character name for a thing I'm planning, and I came across some information that's completely irrelevant but interesting.
Apparently the name 'Corin,' in Latin, means Spear. At least from this site.
Coryn uses a spear.
Coincidence?
I think knot!
Main problem for me.
1. Anyone object to my characters?
2. Gotta figure out how to make the Dark Gunner an atag.
3. Gotta figure out when to bring them in.
But I won't get into that now lol.
@Tech-Star: So for the Dark Gunner, he has the options of 3 battle sprites along with his Wolver? Cool, seems like he could be a stand-alone with that much company. As for when you'd bring him in, well you said he came through a Devilite portal? You could set it that it hasn't happened yet, and if the campsite remains inactive, i'll send my character to a Devilite level. If the campsite picks back up though i'll have to deal with stuff there first.
My only concern with Vog is I want to know how he plays poker with his dead guildmates x-D
As per the normal rules of RP, I'll hand off the information regarding Strom to @Sawhero
seeing as no one volunteered to take up Strom.
@Sawhero
You can do as you like with the control over him and/or Pippin (although control over Pippin will probably be unnecessary) -- whether that means you'll hand it off again, or decide to use him yourself is up to you. A mail concerning any secrets around Strom has been sent to you via in-game Mail.
Be as cheesy as you want with the introduction of your characters.
They're somewhat needed.
@Liminori - Is your character (name currently escapes me ) still at the base camp?
CRUD, RUNNNN
Isphea was running to the base camp, but I never got an update on that.
@Tech-Star: I'm gonna move from the camp for a little bit..so i'll move him to the Devilite floor cause he's going to get something from his base, so if you're up for it, you can bring in the Gunner now.. cause it seems Almond-Riddle chose to have Caite just miss the base camp floor
If I'm not mistaken, the elevator should be in motion again, correct? It's simply headed to the wrong depth.
Didn't it stop again? Well anyways, you can decide if you want the magnet to pull the elevator back up or not. I did kinda mention something about it going down to some swarm related stuff though.
I've slightly modified the Dark Gunner for this, most of his abilities are equipment based, they just seem magic
Crown of the Stars:
The red and blue crown, it functions as a rechargeable on demand consumable that grants massively increased damage and speed while not helping in defense. It lasts quiet a while and recharges in the length of a battle, but can only be used so much, having a power cap, meaning the Dark Gunner can only deal so much damage or even run so much with it.
Trojan Crystal:
It's a shield core connected implanted in a refined Trojan crystal, allowing slow regenerative of armor and access to his abilities (the Dark Gunner's). Without it, Light Part would become a normal Knight but Dark Part would become bound into the Crown of the Stars, unable to host a physical body. The Dark Gunner proper however, would also just become a normal knight. This is technically from being exposures to the same fiendish energies that turned Arkus curropt in the Clockworks, the Trojan corpses in the Apcrea dimension, and the powers of Hell. But due to the fact that Light Part and Dark Part were separate beings yet half of the same person, they were immune to most mind effects. Though Swarm Energy would probably have affected them pre bond and fusion into the person (the Dak Gunner proper), fiends are established to be mostly immune to Swarm Curroption in this RP, or in the case I'm wrong about that it would just take more to curropt them/him but still supectible.
Trojan Control and Hellify ability:
This is just pure magic, if you guys (Saw Hero in particular as the GM of this RP) don't like it then I'll remove it.
Okay.... Let me get this straight.
Elevator
It was going down, but not anymore. Ares somehow stopped it while Jisston moves to fix it and Scorpio climbed up with a rope to get everybody out of there.
Auto is sitting there, waiting for something to happen.
Coryn is staring at Gwen.
Gwen is calmly observing the chaos around her.
And Sparky is freaking out elsewhere. Trying to fix the elevator by doing.... something. Going into the tunnels that run the clockwork's elevators I think.
Lyn is in a mini coma.
Camp
Keep is knocked out, and is currently being carried by Isphea in the direction of the campsite. Escha is following them.
Strom is currently delayed on account of some serious frostbite, but is likely to be free of that in a minute.
Grell is.... elsewhere. With Drace and Meteko, who went up to the camp level using an alternate elevator.
The Stonefield Borough
Pippin separated from Hunter and the gang to do some shopping.
The hunter, Luke, and Yuki are all looking for this blind mender guy called the 'Oracle'.
Diemios is also in Emberlight. But where he went from there is anyone's guess. Maybe he also went to do some shopping?
And then there's also the mess with Whyna's characters. I'm not even sure what to think of THAT.
Caina
Still hunting Crona
Crona, still MIA
Apocrea
Syber went to make some kind of report to the Apocrea. What about and why, I have no clue.
Beck had a short skirmish with Scorpio, which then lead nowhere and he has now retreated. He seems to be headed towards Syber.
Devilite level
Uhhhhhhhhhhh...................................................................
The Dark Gunner's two halves have appeared and are now both going to conquer Cradle.
Apparently? Ares had used his author's prerogative to move Caite here? Why? How? I dunno. Point is, Ares is now heading towards the campsite. With or without Caite is up for discussion.
-----
Alright. Let me just make one thing clear.
I made Caite wait in the COMPOUND level to stall for time. What am I stalling for? Either for Isphea to somehow solo Strom, or for Grell to make a move, or for whatever. I just need the campsite to be a little more clear before I drop Caite in there.
For all intents and purposes, Caite SHOULD be ALONE in the compound level. The elevator shaft has shifted, and those on the elevator should NOT be able to reach Caite. Neither should Ares.
So I'm gonna have to ask you Ares, what the hell are you doing? Because if I don't get a clear answer, I'm going to use my prerogative right to ignore your post and pretend Caite is still ALONE and napping in the compound level.
I'm not antagonizing you or anything, I just need to make things clear. Because I am pretty damn lost at the moment.
The elevator was going Up, back to the Camp level. What the players are doing... I have no idea.
I do know that Lyn actually ended up grabbing Gwen and launching off the elevator with her in post #383. But everyone's ignored that post, so far.
I could sift through posts to find the exact locations of all the knights (and, more importantly, whether they're still on the elevator or not), but I'm too tired, and I'm about to go on vacation. So have fun with the elevator events. xD
Anyways, Caite would have never been on the Decon Zone on the way up. See my post on that subject. Why is it in the regular RP thread? Because reasons.
And by reasons I mean an accident. I humbly apologize.
I feel a bit lost again in this RP. What goal are the characters working towards? I can't stand having Gwen just tag along. She's a leader. She takes initiative. She doesn't follow people around and react to things. If that's all I could do, I'd have made a different character.
@Thin: Depends on who you ask.
The Hunter's goal is to gather allies to use to take down Caina.
The survivor's goals are to survive. And in the future, to take back Haven.
The Apocreans goal is to do Apocrean things. Idk.
Everybody else..... I have no idea.
I was thinking about this while I lay in bed, and I suddenly realized:
I'm using entirely the wrong character.
Or, to be more precise, the wrong side of my character. This version of Gwen is tailored for a more upbeat story with a reachable goal. But the story is one of bitter survival, which calls for a darker character.
Therefore, I would like to scrap this version of Gwen and re-introduce her. Can you guys let me do that?
EDIT: Now that I think about it, I believe I have another character in stock who fits the bill. I may be able to replace Gwen entirely...
@Thinslayer
So long as everyone involved with Gwen can do some sort of redacted post with a bunch of Edit overs, it'd be possible. It'd be kind of hard to do. I think I have most of the major events lined up, if you plan on replacing her anyways, though:
In chronological order:
- Came upon the Hunter group when they just formed up
- Quelled a conflict with Apocreans with the Hunter Group -- as well as making a ship between her and the Hunter. I mean what?
- Healed Yuuki, who wasn't exactly in good condition.
- Told the Hunter group of a nearby group of Knights
- Repaired an Elevator -- which is being used by several knights now
- Assisted with the carrying of a dead Tortodrone to said elevator
- Was presumably followed by Scorpion.
- Called in assistance to repair said elevator
These events can be replaced with a couple of edits... But anyways, I'm not the GM, in the end it's up to him.
@Sawhero, Time to work that GM magic!
@Keepscaite post #425
Holy Snipe.
You made a Jelly Cube character named Narwhal.
I love you.
Maybe I can still salvage the situation. Let me know what you think of my fix.
@Ember: XD
It took me a long time to come up with the name. At first it was Elan, then it was Ethan, then Davis, Coppelion, and finally.... inspiration struck.
I was browsing Kongregate a bit, looking around for some simple games to burn some time with while I waited for a friend to log into SK. And then I see Epic Battle Fantasy 4 on the webpage. I've played the 3rd installment, and I suddenly remembered one of the summons in EBF 3,
Narwhal.
@Thin: I think it's a pretty good fix. The lot in the elevator are gonna be pretty freaked out by Gwen's sudden death though.
@Almond-Riddle: Yea I really didn't realize how controversial my post was till Ember-Break pointed it out. Anyways, I assumed you were on the same floor I had already planned to take Ares, based off where you said Caite landed. Like said I I wanted to give Tech-Star's knights that floor, so, if you roll with my post, you're at Ares's base, which isn't really much of a stall for Caite, because I have an elevator there, which is going to be fixed to take you to the compound level. Yea, that's the best my morning brain can explain it.. *Stretches* Looks like I just badly misread your last post... *rubs eyes*
@Almond-Riddle- Is he in the palace itself, or one the Royal Jelly levels? You see, I had planned to make a sort of dead Jelly cube door for my little base there, so that's why I ask. If he's in the palace, that's where my first base is, so hopefully he doesn't end up part of that door i'm going to make. ^_^
@Liminori - Can't your character move now? You were dragging Keep away from the swarm influence, right? If Strom and Escha reacted and Keep's still sleeping, it's your move, right?
Narwhal was in the palace. But I didn't put a timestamp on that chapter, so you're free to pretend that was just a flashback or something and that he's not really there anymore.
Also, I imagined James Earl Jones as the voice of Creos.
Try it, it's strangely fitting.
You're totally right about the voice..i'm not gonna get that out of my head now.
Meh, in relation to Narwhal, yea i'll just do that, cause I don't even know how i'd recognize him anyways. By the way, I was wondering if I could put the com unit information on the alchemy machine. Ares stored the weapon database on it, but I remember something earlier in this thread about wanting to make it a struggle to alchemize stuff, so I don't know if I should do it..
edit:
@Tech-Star- Exactly what happened between the Light and Dark parts in the last post?
Alright. Here's what happened.
Dark Part was operating more summoning portals, the kind Devilites used to summon and transform themselves, Tortodrones, and Trojans. He also had a few hotwired straight to Hell, drawing energy to Hellify his Trojans.
Light Part encountered Dark Part, and said, "Chaos unif-(cation)." Attempting to stop Dark Part by fusing back into the Dark Gunner.
Dark Part pulled out one of his guns and shot Light Part, denting the armor (I need to change that one detail.)
Light Part said shocked, "You shot me."
Dark Part replied annoyed, "You were trying to stop me."
In an attempt to decide who won, they used the Crown of the Stars, AKA whoever got the power enhancement won. Dark Part received it, shown by his red aura.
Dark Part did a Trojan charge, knocking Light Part away.
Light Part however, was shielded by a Valkyrian Shield Arua from his Sephranyx that had sneaked with him.
Light Part rolled an Elemental Nitronome and a Divive Avenger charge.
Dark Part merely dodged and sliced through the shield (Seraphyx shield's are broken by damage) and told him to,
"Get out."
Thanks for clearing that up.. they're on the same floor Ares left them on I guess, right?
Yea I just saw the post in the RP right after I asked, thanks though..
This RP does have an endgame. Preferably, I would like to reach it. So, I'll try to make a deal with all of you. If it works, I will be cutting off new characters. No new non-canon enemies. Instead, people can take control of Maulos, Vana, and Margrel. Provided that we can finish this RP, I will open a parallel RP, with no real storyline.
So, here's my basic story plan, with some flexibility. We go, fight Vana, Maulos, Margrel, getting the weapons and Book of Dark Rituals. Does anyone remember the brief time when you could get pickups that allowed you to call in an airstrike? We find a gunship, modify it amd leave Cradle. At that point, I will write a basic epilogue. Everyone can then write an epilogue for each of their characters, explaining the rest of their lives on Isora. Sound good?
That sounds like a good idea. And on that matter, could I be Vanaduke? I really like the prep civilizations of cradle. Almire always seemed so cool. The Owlites and Kat's also are intriguing, and if not I also like Margrel.
Although I guess you wouldn't be suggesting this if you weren't sure you could do it. Anyways, my point is why not just leave this as the parallel RP and make the structured storyline one?
Because that storyline that you posted in #293 sounds pretty short if you ask me, so wouldn't it be easier to make a new one with that established storyline as the goal of the RP? Or am I reading too much into this?
Anyways, you ARE the GM bro lol, so i'll go with whatever's decided, but if I could keep posting until the decision is reached, that'd be dope.
@Sawhero
Doesn't really matter which way the story moves in my opinion. Considering this is a relatively rule-less RP, I'd have to agree with Ares. Making a parallel RP with set objectives and relatively the same characters while leaving this current RP as a "sandbox type RP" would be quite the different experience.
Also, you did get my Mail in-game, right Sawhero? I didn't copy it into a Notepad Doc because I forgot 'till the moment after I sent the Mail... So yeah.
I see what you are saying, so here's what I think. I'll start the new RP, allowing me to mold the storyline somewhat. Thing is, managing the other one, along with daily life, may kinda pull me out of this one. I'll probably either give other people my characters, or just let them disappear, and start a new person who doesn't have to be posted on that often.
@Ember-Sorry, I had a full weekend. I might check the game today, but, well, life strikes again.
Well glad to see you reached a decision, and i'll look forward to the next RP. Yeah, I get what you're saying, i'm probably gonna be more busy than I can manage this week, between studying and training..and.... :/ meh.
Could someone bring me up to speed with the recent events? XD
I got 2 villains and 1 pseudo-villain at the ready. Spoiler alert, the pseudo villain isn't really a villain.
