Wild Hunting Blade, Made Incorrectly?

I don't know about anyone else who plays with this awesome blade, but it has a major flaw... For those of you unfamiliar with it, the Wild Hunting Blade summons a phantasmal golden wolfer to bite you foes with each swing. This bite attack is supposed to be the equivalent of the other cutter lines' second swing; however the problem is that the wolfer's bite comes to late in the swing and it completely misses the enemy you are attacking because of the knock back. The only way to hit enemies with the bite is by cornering them against something or stunning them (not a viable option all of the time). My suggestion is to have the bite occur simultaneously with the swing so that they both his at the EXACT same time, with no room for error.

Anyone else have this problem?

There are a lot of weapons

There are a lot of weapons with secondary or follow-up attacks that only work when the opponent is cornered. I think it's intended that way, to make them more balanced. If you could nail every single attack all the time with Cutter-line weapons, they would be overpowered; forcing you to corner your enemies introduces an element of skill into using them that wouldn't be present if max DPS could be achieved by spamming Z.

Still a good weapon though :)

Could it also have to do with

Could it also have to do with the fact that my weapon has a UV low attack speed increase? Is it possible that the sword swings faster and the bite is unaffected?

Possible, I suppose. I know

Possible, I suppose. I know the secondary swing of my vile striker misses a lot of light enemies because of knockback, and has from the time it was a cutter. Perhaps it's just more noticeable to you now that it's a golden spectral wolver? Maybe the wild hunting blade gains some additional knockback on the primary strikes? Either of those could also explain your experience.

That makes sense, I did

That makes sense, I did notice that the cutter (and higher star levels of it) do miss with the second swing often. I was just hoping it was not the Wild Hunting Blade and I suppose that I can see it better now that (like you said) it is a golden wolver.

One way around this is that

One way around this is that you can actually aim the last strike of the charge attack in a different direction. Your character will still slide forward in the direction in which you released the charge attack, but you can aim the last strike in any direction you choose. I suppose this is only helpful against multiple targets; I find myself attacking 3-5 different targets at once with WHB rather than just one target.
