Dash in PvE
I have noticed something about dash mechanics. I haven't analyzed it deeply but i can mark some of its attributes:
- Dash it's 5* square length jump in straight line similar to bash*.
- Default buttons RMB + Shift.*
- Can't be cast if player is surrounded, especially in corner.
- Don't deal the damage.*
- Stops on obstacles after 2nd square. Before this distance, when hit obstacle edge (or less than half of obstacle) change the shift vector in approportiate axis (x or y) if the dimension of hit is less than 60? degrees in acute angle.* (i dont know how can i better describe it, translation problems)
- Player can take damage when dashing.
- IT ISN'T A BUG! Player is immune on last 2 squares for about a second. On these 2 squares player also "magically" "disappear" from the map. I mean that the AI of creatures gets a little tick and stop the player from being target for about second.
I think the last point is the most imortant of them. It can help particulary new players from getting damage. As I said: When you dash, all of the creatures on the map stop feel you as their target for about second. You can elaborate many fight tactics using this fact.
- When player use Shift and next RMB button dash is casted normally.*
- Using RMB and one to half second procedure pause before Shift will dash touched creatures with player. If later one of them have an obstacle on their way their dash behaves like player dash. *
- When player stands still the direction of dash is same as face direction.*
- When player moves dash direction is same as move direction.*

I think it's good idea that u will make this page. I have no experience with it. Can i put all the collected data into this post?

Yes, just write some text in this thread (by adding posts, or just by editing the original post).

Sometimes pages just fall through the works and/or don't exist. I just made a redirect for the birdsong emporium yesterday, and that's been around for ages. Looking forward to that data.

I'll take a stab at writing the page, once I'm done bickering with Dracora-Speaking in another thread. :)

I'll add pics. Nobody ever complains about my pics D:<
(then again, not trying to break any new ground with those, heh...)

I made the article. Basically I just organized and cleaned up Kijekin's text, without verifying or expanding on anything. It's definitely a stub. Kijekin, what should be added or changed?
You can write that is good to have a wont of using dash. Besides there is nothing more to change. I think when you add a pictures it will clearly can tell new players what the role of dash and how to use it as good as it possible.
(i hope that my broken english wasn't difficult to understand :D)

Your English is pretty understandable. Thanks for your contribution.
By the way, I invite you to view the wiki code for that wiki page. It is not at all hard to understand. People tend to be surprised by how easy editing the wiki really is, once they give it a try. Cheers.
Unfortunately my main problem is i was registered using Steam and now i cant edit any page on wiki. :(

Did a few wiki formatting things, working on getting action photos up now. Thanks for this data.

Kijekin, I don't mean to badger you about it --- don't edit the wiki if you don't want to --- but let's just be clear about it.
Even if you play Spiral Knights through Steam, you can make an account on www.spiralknights.com, and use that to edit the wiki. You don't have to play on the account at all. You have to log in to the wiki to edit it, but that's no big deal --- what I do every day.
Anyway, happy travels.
Hi, Kijekin. I don't recognize you, so in case you're new to this forum...welcome.
We don't seem to have a wiki page about the dash. I'm not sure why. If you want to collect all of the relevant facts here --- what the default keys are, when it doesn't work, etc. --- then I can help you turn it into a wiki page. (Or you can do it yourself.)
