It is utterly useless, but amusing to carry around and set up.
It deals almost no damage, pushes monsters away from it, and disappears after a set time by dealing itself somewhere around 99999 damage.

It pushed the wolvers around a bit, not showing any damage numbers. I wasn't even able to distinguish any damage via the health bar being done.
Wow. If it's this useless I hope they add T2 and T3 versions.
It's not really a bug as it is just the damage is down-right terrible and needs to be adjusted to scale per depth.
Not that it'll happen of course. It'll most likely remain a utility-purpose tool to push things around rather than giving damage.
So it is as 'useful' as it used to be in the jelly farm/dec zones? meh
At least the ones in och destory some of the steel hedgehogs...
I tried one out in a Tier-3, fire-themed wolver den yesterday. Two notes:
1. The wolvers managed to catch the turret on fire at one point.
2. One of the wolvers was down to 2/3 health. So unless it got hurt by another wolver, the turret did some damage.
Bopp, your points don't mention if any of the wolvers were inflicted with a status (fire) beforehand so i'm a bit skeptical.
Bopp said the wolver (probably an ash tail) caught the Turret on fire. Not the other way around.
Turrets can get afflicted with a status if you remember the Save winterfest missions you might remember seeing a turret frozen
Turrets can have status inflicted upon them.
As for damage - D28, Elite seemed to show no damage being done to the wolvers. The picture in this post had one wolver hit/pushed once by the turret.
Faeyd, your skepticism is reasonable. So let me clarify. I was solo. I merely ran around, gathering up the wolvers into a crowd, and then activated the turret. I didn't use any other pickups or weapons. In fact, I didn't have any status weapons equipped.
I did not do any status to the turret, but the turret was on fire (presumably due to the fire-themed wolvers).
I did not do any damage or status to the wolvers, but one of the wolvers was hurt. I'll try to reproduce this result sometime, to make sure I didn't make a mistake.
The title actually sums it up: the turret is an immobile mecha knight.
So it pushes back enemies (man, I hate when mecha knights do that xd), it DOES do dmg, but as much of a mecha knight/knight npc (I so love the fiend prestige mission with those 2 bot npcs...; and enjoy watching the one in the undead prestige getting rekt by grimalkins ^^), and prolly its best usage, it can work out as a decoy/meatshield. Or since they have no flesh, just shield I guess. :)
Turrets can indeed be statused (like knights), I have seen quite a few burning ones in OCH, the rockets of the mortafires can inflict fire.
Mecha knights are somewhat good in t1, the deeper you go, the less effective they become. On d1, they can ACTUALLY kill stuff pretty fast, maybe the dmg of the turrets would be more noticeable there as well.
Well that's disappointing. I saw one in action, but didn't get a chance to see how much damage it was dealing, or how it died. You're sure that it deals the crummy tier one damage, like its mecha knight counter part?
