So this "Privacy Certified by the ESRB" thing has started showing up for me in the bottom right hand corner of the screen on any page on the forum.
What is it and what's it for?

This, whatever the fancy words mean. I'm just pretty annoyed by how it's placed flat on the screen as opposed to following the scrolling or being in a corner.

I do not have it on my

I do not have it on my screen. It might be that I'm using a different browser (I use Waterfox, the 64bit version of Firefox) or because I have Ad-Block and views it as an ad and makes it disappear.

You might just need to clear your cache, or you're right. Either way, AdBlock for Chrome doesn't block it but gee, that's a good idea. I was gonna write a user-style but I realise this is a lot quicker.

Welp

Aaaaaand, it's gone.

And the formatting of General Discussion seems off.

Who wants to bet we've got a gremlin tinkering around on the website?

EDIT: And it's back again. What is this dark magic!?

Gremlin? Pfft, that was probably a dev trying to implement the thingy but failed at the damn CSS. I wouldn't blame them.

Well, yeah...

Knowing how much a mess formatting can be, I wouldn't blame them for the positioning.

But I was keeping in the line of when things go wrong, blame gremlins.

algorithms are the solutions to any problem.

the formatting of most websites goes balls to the walls nuts when you combine it with any sort of lag or connection issues. lists of pages that go vertically instead of horizontally, search bars going from right to left, letter format changing, all kinds of stuff.
I think they put it there because of legal issues, it probably has to be visible on the page. maybe putting it in the up right corner would have been a better idea though.

It's kind of weird that they did the ESRB privacy certification since SK isn't actually ESRB rated.
Maybe they are planning to get a rating for some reason.

They could have at least

They could have at least given it a position fixed on the page; having it not follow you scrolling the page makes it look so awk, sitting at the middle of the page.

I have no clue what everyone in this thread is talking about. I have no such image appearing or being annoying [or even available in the page resources].

Maybe it just doesn't bother linux users.

Here's a link.

It's still there today. Perhaps this might explain it better?

Looks like they figured it out

Well it's in a static position at the bottom of the website now, so I supposed it's fixed. It overlaps with some of the lines in the background but doesn't stand out like a sore thumb anymore.
