It would seem that farming Dan for radiant fire crystals is indeed plausible- thank you to everyone that helped me gather data, and feel free to submit more data regarding your drops that you find there.

Boxes found prior to D28 fluctuate due to random generation, but are typically values of 6 or 12, and have been almost entirely green.

Other things that I'm interested in:
-Token drops (Forge/primal/grim sparks)
-Weapon drops?
-Material drops (which ones?)

Skepticraven tells me that all of the shards drop from the boxes, as well as all of the token types which makes sense as the level type is basically all monster familes with no status effects. Has anyone found higher starred materials, or gear drops? I have yet to notice receiving anything but tokens and occasionally shards.

How long did these runs take for you guys? Amount matters, but amount per time matters a lot more! Just want to know if it beats FSC's 18 rads per 30 minute record.

Nice, 41 boxes? that beats arenas (by 10!).

With 21r/20g boxes on D28, my numbers say 26.4 fire crystals average (cant seem to find my number for % of FC being radiants... It was either 75% or 80% for D28 if i recall correctly).
Tokens should be a bit over 3 per run (3.38).
Materials should be close to 1 every 2 runs (0.57 per run).

As for the materials, I've been watching party members and thus far its all shards (green/blue/yellow so far). Tokens seem to be of the "any" variety as well - grim+primal I've seen so far.

Uhm. I partied with a guy who pulled 39. It's RNG. I got 18 first time then 24 just for record-keeping purposes.

39 = 13 * 3, radiant fire crystals to my knowledge always drop in clusters of 3. Finding 31 of them means that Leaf most likely missed some, and I don't want to assume that Leaf found 33 because Leaf did not report finding 33. Recording the 31 would also mess up the sort of stem and leaf type thing I've got going, which shows how the distribution is fairly normal. I've included (and found myself) values around 31, such as 30 and 33, however.

Dreams and Nightmares indeed.

It may be interesting to count the pickup items such as vials or capsules that drop from the boxes as well. Seeing as they have no purpose in a treasure room with no more danger following the depth, what people loot at the end easily may not be all of what they would have collected otherwise.

It could even be roughly half of what they should get on the more ill-fortuned occasions.
