I have 555 but I had 150 from last year left
How to calculate Kats seen total of this event:
So my total is 405 (555-150),
and I did 6 days of missions which give 4 pages each so 6 x 4 =24 pages
So we minus those away 405 - 24
Which is 381 and then we divide by 3
and I saw 127 Kats

Alts are the way to go!
I collected 50 pages on each of my three alts and about 100 on my main. (I have more there from random kat encounters and doing the daily missions.)
So I've seen about 70 kats this event, not too much I guess, so I shouldn't feel bad about not finding a book.
(I just say that to myself so I don't feel sad)

I think I had a very good page to book ratio - doubt I killed more than maybe 100 kats if even that. Either way I didn't count pages from the daily or how many I had before so I don't think I can tell.

I found the book with less than 150 Black Kats so I guess that I am kinda lucky

Blunder Kats are on the loose
Only did some of the daily prestige missions, so IDK, 25 or so.
Didn't bother to grind last time, this time and won't bother to grind for the next because there's nothing worth grinding for; looking for your 1.5 books is an asinine waste of time.

Ojoy.
Well I started the event with 927 pages, ended it with 1,695 pages. That's 768 pages from that. Then I also spent at least 150 pages on fetishes to upgrade items, so it looks like I farmed up around 918 pages. Some of those were from prestige and margel fights, but ignoring those I fought upwards of 306 black kats this event.
Found one book during the event myself.
I thought it was a lot of fun. I'm a boring person though, so farming a game I already enjoy anyways doesn't really push me the wrong way.

for me
I ended up with around 320 pages, and then I ended up finding a book on the 94th black kat I found in the event. I was so happy I gave away all the pages I had in the form of fetishes and gave away the spots for the margrel hunt for free. Your welcome. Then I decided to keep hunting for a little more, getting 1 fetish and 32 leftover.
I love my BKC with shock med :)

Around 20 this event. Grinding events is not enjoyable and OOO doesn't give us any new motivation to do so.
In event overally I've got around 300-400.
