Okay so, I just came back to Spiral Knights after maybe a half-year hiatus. I was wondering why I had quit in the first place, as I hadn't even done the new missions yet, then it hit me.
As it turns out, after a few depths (in this case the second depth of a mission), my game starts to die. That album has many examples.
Image One - Usually when you connect to the level, you immediately go into attack stance, and face the mouse. In this case, I don't, and I can't see myself move even when I press the buttons until something connects better. Usually it syncs up to the server every few attacks or swings of a sword, but sometimes I'm not that fortunate.
Image Two - Usually things don't walk off the screen and get stuck there while you're running around wondering where it actually server-side.
Image Three - Oftentimes although I know I would've picked these things up server-side, my client doesn't show that.
Image Four - Throwing pots gets more complicated when your client is telling you that you never threw the pot, instead it's stuck to you like glue. When I spun around (mouse), the pot followed me, although I had already thrown it. Only after it updated did the pot disappear.
Image Five - When I die, my screen shows me as alive and I can usually move around for awhile even when I should be immobile and locked into the ER animation.
Image Six - My minimap doesn't reflect the true state of the game; it says that the key is elsewhere, while I was still carrying it. Coincidentially, I also left my battle sprite behind at the spot where it said the key was. Along with that, the button was not activated despite me standing on it, another example of delayed actions.
Image Seven - This is a repeat of image four, except with a key. This shows the rotation and how I can literally move it through blocks as a result.
Image Eight, Nine, and Ten - These are essentially the exact same image, taken multiple times in succession. For some reason, when I was taking the screenshot, my avatar was flashing like a strobelight whereas in the screenshots, I'm invisible. Odd.
Image Eleven Twelve, and Thirteen - In the first one, it's once again showing how I seem to be alive despite the bars very clearly showing i'm dead. The second image is another clear example, this time roaming back and forth, and the third shows that I can attack, at least on my screen, despite being obviously dead. Spikes are deadly when you don't actually know if they're up or not.
To sum it up, the UI seems to be perfectly fine (bar minimap), whereas the actual game has horrible sync/lag with the servers. I live in Toronto, with fairly good internet, yet this seems to be a consistent issue for me. It was months ago, and it still is; every few depths I get this death-inducing lag.
Is this normal (now), and is there anything I can do?
