Tricked by the Punkin King - How to farm candy faster?

This is my first Dark Harvest Festival, so I'm really excited... But there's a problem - I don't want any of the expiring masks, and it seems that I can't farm fast enough for the permanent ones before the event is over.

1. Can the Punkin King be hit by guns during the Trick? I can't seem to deal damage to him.
2. (If the answer to the above question is yes,) My best gun locks me in place (autogun), giving the respawning enemies time to attack and the King time to escape - Should I switch for a much faster but far weaker gun (antigua) to hit him for the first few times, or should I keep my stronger one?
3. How often do Grim Scarabs appear from gravestones instead of zombies? I'm not sure if I should farm Graveyards as well as Clockwork Tunnels, or not waste time on it.
4. Can the Dark Harvest only been played once, or completed once?
5. Similar to #2, but my sword isn't that slow (calibur). Still, should I switch it for something faster (spur/flourish/cutter), or not?

Every year players write guides to this thing. To find them, try a Google search such as punkin king farm site:forums.spiralknights.com. Now to answer your questions:
1. Yes, as Flowchart said.
2. Fast weapons are valuable. You want to score lots of little hits.
3. I don't know, but so far it seems to me that scarabs might be appearing more often with lower candy payout per scarab. But take that with a grain of salt. I might be misremembering previous years.
4. As Flowchart said.
5. I do think that flourishes are pretty effective. They're not slow, but they have a wide first stroke. Just use the first stroke.

#3 - I meant, can I just quit at the end of the run and play again for a second run into the Punkin King's Lair, or does it always become unavailable, not mattering if I completed it or not?

I find that if you inflict shock on the pukin king, then he becomes super easy to kill. Also if you can time a sudaruska charge on him, then you do lots of damage...
I just run the ruby gate with either the arena or the clockwork tunnels, or any other gate that has clockwork tunnels
Thats my input for farming. I have all the masks right now, and just unboxed 4 side blades in a row.

Okay this might sound unhelpful but I got an Authentic Phantom Mask in 3 and a half hours since a guildmate was so lucky.
He was seriously into this event. Gates change every 15 minutes and you must prioritize anything with a Clockwork Tunnel like place after the town.
#3 - No, if people could do that, then they would be doing that. Sadly.

Stuffs!
Seeing as I pretty much ran clockwork tunnels for about 5 hours straight last night, I can vouch and say it's really quite easy to get the tokens. I could haven't gotten the main 3 masks twice in that time - pretty sure I opened something like 18 boxes at least.
Brittle candies are pretty much the "I want a scarab mask" candies, and require you to run graveyards. I believe champions have the "An Occurrence At Owlite Keep" mission they can run for free graveyards, however farming clockwork tunnels for the punkin king is much more viable and will not waste as much time.
Pretty much learn the gates and run the clockwork tunnels levels, and when the gate switches go to a different tier/gate. Best use of time is to run these levels non-stop and once all the gates are not in your favor to go spend the candies and/or just chat with people until the gates shift.

tiers affect how many tokens are dropped, less in t1, more in t2, most in t3
and difficulty settings dont affect tokens, in case you were wondering that too
1. yes but might be tricky to hit, maybe aim at the shadow.
2. probably easier to hit him with faster guns than a blitz but I usually use swords for this. Although it seems to help if you have someone else with a shiv and then fire a blitz charge just as his trick begins.
3. They're fairly rare but you should probably get at least 1 or 2 per graveyard, maybe more. The graveyard ones are the only way of getting Brittle candy for the scarab mask (besides prestige rewards/buying them) so if you don't have everything yet you'd want to do both.
4. It's like the regular prestige missions, you can only get the rewards once per day, but you can go through it again if someone invites you.
