I would like to ask a question. However, I need an answer that I usually don't get.

WHAT YOU CANNOT INCLUDE IN YOUR ANSWER:
-"It Depends". It does depend, I get that. But I need a definitive answer.
-"It's your choice". It is my choice. But I am bad at making decisions.
-"Some other third thing that lets me not answer directly". This one is self-explanatory.
QUESTION
I have 4 star weapons, and now all I need is 4 star armor. However, I am having trouble deciding on what armor to use. I want a full set of armor, 1 chest plate-thing and a helmet, that will be good in any situation. I need 4 star armor that will be able to reflect attacks from Jellies, Fiends, Constructs and everything else.
OTHER INFORMATION
I am not sue what other information you will need to determine this, so I will put in a lot of information.
-I am using the Ascended Caliber and the Master Blaster as my weapons.
-I use Seraphynx

Thanks in advance. I also need a 4 star shield, but I think I know what I will get, but if you have any shield suggestions, I will appreciate them.

It depends. In the end, it's your choice. You just have to believe in yourself.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

But really, if I were you, I would just read 90% of the comments that Bopp had made with his helpful, universal advice that no other new questioner uses for reference.

three threads now

Qisheng, instead of making a new thread, please just continue your old thread on the same topic:

http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/112870

In that thread, I have linked to my detailed armor guide, which tells you almost everything you need to know:

http://wiki.spiralknights.com/User:Jdavis/Armor

Also, since you are using a sword and gun, you can get even more specific advice from my detailed sword guide:

http://wiki.spiralknights.com/User:Jdavis/Swords

But you want a really simple answer? Okay, here is my simple answer for you.

  • Work on Magic Hood and Magic Cloak. Upgrade them toward Chaos. Just before the final upgrade, you can make your final decision about whether to get Chaos or one of the other, more defensive branches (or a mix).
  • You haven't mentioned your shield. Get Barbarous Thorn Shield.
  • Stop upgrading your Calibur and Blaster now. They are boring and not very powerful. Replace Blaster with Iron Slug. Replace Calibur with Combuster.

THANK YOU

This has been possibly the most helpful forum reply I have ever received, and I want to thank you, Bopp. You have given such a straightforward answer. I apologize on the multiple threads, I have a hard time finding my old forum posts. Thank you so much, I really owe you.

I have decided on all my items, except for one little thing. I currently have a Magic Cloak and Magic Hood, which I will soon upgrade to 3 stars. However, due to my lack of orbs, I have done extensive research, and I have taken a liking to the Black Kat Raiment, which is the only 5 star Black Kat item I can get using crafting. I know I will keep the hood, as the Black Kat Cowl can only be acquired under special circumstances. Another advantage of having the Chaos Cowl and Black Kat Raiment, instead of double Chaos, is the different types of damage protection, which I believe will come in handy. I just want to make sure other people think this is a good idea.

Zincamania-Forum
Black kat raiment is harder

Black kat raiment is harder to get than the Black kat cowl. You can craft it, but you need special materials for it that can only be acquired during the boss fight that also gives you a black kat cowl. Full chaos is strong, don't worry about that. If you still want a mix of Black kat+chaos, then black kat cowl+chaos cloak is easier to get.

great idea, except

Yes, Black Kat is even better than Chaos, and mixing the two is great. But as Zincamania-Forum pointed out (and I explain in my armor guide), Black Kat Raiment is even harder to get than Black Kat Cowl. You need to fight Margrel six times to get BKR.

As I explain in my armor guide, the only Black Kat piece that is easy to get is the 3-star helmet. Its offense is just as good as the 5-star pieces'. Its defense is not as good, but one does not wear Black Kat for defense.

So, the next time the Kataclysm comes around, get the 3-star helmet, so that you can see whether you like playing in Black Kat armor.

I normally use a sword and a gun. Would it be best if I got one of the many, many results of the Padded Cap, and then a Wolver Coat, or should I play it safe with the Chaos Cloak?

Chaos Cloak is not safe. A Padded armor mixed with a Wolver armor would be safer. This is all covered in my armor guide.

I think that you're wasting my time on purpose. Bye.

I don't think he means it the way you think he does.

some allowances

I sympathize with players who don't speak English natively. A big guide may be too much text for them to handle, so I answer some questions that are covered in those guides.

But Fiquel/Qisheng's English is quite good, and s/he should be able to learn from a guide, if s/he is actually interested in learning.
