Bardic
Notes scroll across the top of the screen in the form of 4 keys, set to a default of j, k, l and i. The player would have to drop the mouse and move their hand over. As notes reach a bar, the player presses the key, and your party receives a buff, or enemies receive damage, or something happens. Think guitar hero.
Variants-
Status: Applies a weak status effect to all enemies within the range.
Statuses: Stun, poison, fire, heart attack, possibly curse.
Buff: Applies a potent but short buff to party members
Buffs: Defense, attack, MSI, attack speed, charge time
Area of Effect: Pulses out an area of effect attack every few seconds
Variants: Shadow,Elemental,Normal
Projectile: The weapon creates and shoots projectiles like a gun, but without your aiming. Strong status, heavy single target damage.
Types: Homing (you shoot near them), Random (you shoot at random angles, rapidly), Burst (Think toxigel spin)
Burst Variants: Piercing + Poison, Shadow + Fire, Normal + Shock
Homing Variants: Normal + Fire, Shadow + Shock, Elemental + Freeze
Random Variants: Piercing + Curse, Shadow + Stun, Piercing + Fire

Ethereal
Psychic machine weapons. Work like guns crossed with bombs, but apply much scarier effects. These weapons would be extremely rare and few in numbers, reserved mostly for endgame or lategame players.
Mind Control: Charge up your weapon and take control of an enemy from afar. Your knight enters the sleep animation, and stays there while you use that enemy to do whatever you want it to. Would definitely work in lockdown.
A change of heart: Charge up your weapon and convert an enemy to your side. Enemies converted would behave as they normally do, but for you. The effect wears off after about 45 seconds. Would work in lockdown, but poorly; no guarantee they do anything, though they'd appear on your side.
Blind: Removes an enemies ability to see knights; they behave as if all knights are invisible. This effect lasts around 5-15 seconds, and is applied as a small area of effect around your knight. In lockdown, makes them unable to see the entire other team.
Invisibility: Maskeraith's cloak effect, as a weapon. Is much shorter/less controlled than a recon cloak.
How does one acquire these strange+powerful weapons?
Each would be found during a different T2+ mission when completing that mission with a specific but relevant gear set, random to each player. Gunner armors would all count as one set, as would differing star levels of gear.. so if I beat it with deadshot, it would count as the 3* gunslinger but not justifier.
First, choose a number of different missions. Then, choose 3 items from a list of items that are feasible on that mission. For instance-
Jelly King: All shadow weapons, all elemental weapons, all piercing armor, all high-normal armor, all class armor, all slime boosted armor, all normal/elemental/piercing shields
The game might choose say...
Plate shield
Arcane salamander helm
Arcana
If your knight completes the mission with those 3 unlocks, you'd get a notification about the item being found etc.
You couldn't think up a title for your thread so you just copy+pasted the first one you saw?
I like the Hunting Horn idea, unfortunately your iteration of it creates more mandatory key assignments, a nightmare for those who play with controllers or who already have most the keyboard taken up with sprite attacks, vials, and weapon selection bindings.
Some alternatives I might suggest could be attacking in each cardinal direction triggers the different notes, or the weapon immobilizing you and WASD become the notes.
For your possession idea, it's a little meh. Mostly be cause of how enormously situational it would be. Monsters do very little damage compared to knights, and even if you buffed that to balance, you have the blatant risk issue of your knight standing completely still. Even popping Blitz charges can be extremely risky, and that has you standing still for barely over a second.
This was a far better suggestion for remote control as a weapon.
Having control wrestled from you in lockdown would probably have to be one of the most unfun experiences ever, it would be as bad as being asleep and on fire at the same time.
Regarding visibility effects, this sort of thing is already possible through aggro management and the dash mechanic. A new status that makes a large number of enemies completely inert like an overpowered stun ). I guess it's basically "sleep" without the healing or ability to be woken. Congratulations, you've somehow made a more overpowered version of sleep
