It makes no sense to have Sparks cost 50 mid-run.
Reduce Spark Cost when out of native Sparks to 20
using mist energy to revive with the price of revives more after each one, but resetting at the end of the day was fine. but then sparks of life were made for money grabbing. :P
with mist energy used to revive you had to still decide when and when not to revive because you couldn't later during the boss battle or something like that. but now that GH (a non profit group) is in charge they could revert it. people back then would still use CE to revive after they were out of mist energy and those that were just f2p could too, just a limited amount of times a day. but now sparks of life encorage p2w because you almost HAVE to revive more than once in later levels unless your a spiral knights god.
Sparks of Life encourage you to become a better player. If you're blowing through sparks of life on elite because you're alone, you should try to party up to see if it's just you or if it's the level. If partying up you don't die as often, then it's just the level. If you're still dying, perhaps you should try playing easier levels, or on a lower difficulty.
Sparks of Life are not a "p2w" tactic. Coupled with the emergency revive (that is reset every single floor), you have quite a handful of revives that A) give you an attack boost to work with B) knock back and stun enemies heavily.
Back in the days of mist, if you revived with energy at all, you would be losing money. Imagine this: you are in a shadow lair. You are in the final arena. You've fought super hard to get there but the bosses are wrecking you and your team. You all die, one person revives, you keep trying. This happens a few times and now you have to pay upwards of 1000 energy to revive. That's just for one person, too, not everyone. You spent a total of 1800 energy to even try out this area and now you can't even complete it without paying an arm and a leg? That sounds more like P2W if you ask me.
I feel there are two large flaws with the system as it stands:
1) you don't want to revive people with your sparks because you need them
2) sparks of life drop more frequently on higher difficulties, and players who need sparks of life more often than not are playing on lower difficulties
For fixing the second one I would make sparks of life drop more often on normal, and less often on elite. Gives end-game players a reason to go to lower difficulties if they're planning on taking on harder content.
I guess you're right. I used my sparks of life a really long time ago (I quite some time after that and came back recently) but the problem is you have to get them by completing missions and I'm stuck on tier three trying to get into tier four because elite orbs of alchemy are SUPER rare and I didn't even know sparks of life could be a drop (NEVER seen one) so basically I'm stuck for the next 50 times I play without any sparks of life (and no I'm not going to buy any. the CE I get I might use on that but I'm too busy trying to upgrade stuff with the crowns but I can't find any elite orbs of alchemy)
so I'm just stuck in a loop of being unable to revive myself past the emergency revive.
it was kind of dumb to use all of them in the first place but I felt like I have this item that does something good, and I didn't want to hoard them and stockpile them for just for not wanting to use them later because they are hard to come by.
so it feels like, if I use them they are gone, and if I don't use them, I won't ever.
at least with mist energy it would regen every day so I wasn't stuck not being able to revive more than once.
Lowering the punishment for the out of sparks options is probably a good idea, as nobody uses the function as it is. But it should still be a punisment, so paying 30-40 energy would probably be a better solution under the current system.
Mist energy as a side feature seems like a good Idea though...
Its a punishment for being unprepared, this game needs more of that
