That is...
"MODULATORS"
Modulators are essentially Unique variant replacement for anything.
However, it still isn't an easy task.
You just won't be wasting any CR at all.
If this idea actually happens, It will launch like some sort of event.
"Punch's Grand Re-punched terminal"
Story :
Punch's schemes to lower the market of Knights for his personal greed took a toll on him at last.
Knight's are no longer coming to him for improved gear.
Punch has been in a great deal of depression for the past few weeks.
"I need a new way to provide services that will actually make me happy!" Punch cried out in pain and grief, realizing money isn't everything.
Shutting down his shop, Punch decides to develop a new system on a couple hundred Thwack Hammers until he succeeds.
He has harnessed the Unique Variant that made a blade sharper or the material to allow a bomb's diffusion to go boom even faster.
He calls his new technical advancement, "UV v2." Also known as "Modulator MK's."
With his re-opened service, he decides to re-open shop with his reworks.
Word of his accomplishment spreads like wildfire from Haven to even Knights deep in the clockworks.
Knights smiled with pleasure as their weapons were reforged into god-like weapons.
Merchants looked at Punch, patting him on the back.
Strangers were pleased with the change of an upbeat attitude from everyone.
Punch was finally happy.

You will have only 1 modulator per item, Punch sells them for 20,000 Crowns. (Same price as 1 RANDOM UV)
Knights are now able to configure the UV's they want.
The way this works is through "Chip Cells"
Chip Cells contain the Unique Variant of choice.
The modulator doesn't bind Chip Cells, so you can swap out your choices.
Chip Cells on the other hand, Can't be obtained from another player no matter what.
Chip Cells require crafting, thus introducing new materials.
The materials make the BASE for the unique variant you want.
The crafting system for CCs will use a large supply of these materials.
ASI material : Graphine Aerogel
"These solids are extremely light. When you throw one chunk, it arcs like a rock, but it moves slow like a feather."
CTR material : Protonic Phase Matter
"Sheets of condense light energy. It's glow is really soft for being massively powered."
DMG material : Molten Silver
"Careful not to touch directly! Grab a bucket first or you'll be walking like the undead!"
I would have other ideas for Resistance Bonuses.
I'll think of some later.
CC's are crafted with at least 50 of one type of the materials listed above.
They also require combinations of Minerals. More Minerals, the better the UV.
L : 60 Vale + 40 Moon + 25 Mat
M : 80 Vale + 80 Moon + 50 Mat
H : 100 Vale + 120 Moon + 75 Mat
V.H : 120 Vale + 160 Moon + 100 Mat
Ultra : 180 Vale + 200 Moon + 150 Mat
MAX : 220 Val + 240 Moon + 200 Mat
That's a lot of mats needed though.
I had also thought of salvaged Mold to speed up the craft you want.
You can decompose Fire Crystals and Orbs into a Mold that halves the price of the Mats needed, Not minerals.
Well that concludes my proposal of a *Reworked UV system.
I wish I could grab Gray Havens attention though.
