You would sell more of them if people didn't have to spend 6 hours farming dan to acquire a new doo dad.
Promo items shouldn't require fire crystals
So as the person actually buying these things, my position is that I already have the normal not-a-promo version at heat level 10. I then whale for the pirate gear and the big pain is that I am now required to heat weapons that I already have a second, third or fourth time, just so that I can pretend to be a pirate. Every weapon is around 6 hours of additional grinding for rads that I do; ergo the pirate thing is costing me 18 hours of my free time that could be spent playing other levels. I can see why people buy costumes but not promo weapons, and think it would be prudent of the developers to remove this reason.
If I didn't already have it and wanted a boost I would simply buy into-
A) Punch via trading energy
B) More trinkets
C) Mixmaster and Orbitgun
D) Black Kat with UVs (see punch)
E) Sparks of Life, which basically enable the knight to do anything
F) Radiant fire crystals, which offer what I'm asking for at a huge price
Most of the uses for energy and so spending money are in fact to boost the knight in some way. This would be what they sell.
This is a valid point. I like new skins but I own none of them. Why? Because before I can use one, I first need to roll VH ASI or CTR on it and then I need to spend 450 fire crystals. That's enough to at least make you think about it and then you realize that you probably won't end up using the costume set it goes with for too long anyway.
I think it would be a lot better if reskins were sold as "Reskin tickets" that you could use to unlock skins in a "Wardrobe" for lack of a word. Any unlocked skin in the Wardrobe could be applied to an appropriate base weapon, keeping its heat level and UVs and you would be able to change at any time. That way you need only 1 sword for all the skins so there would be no barriers discouraging you from trying to get the new skins.
I think they should act like a regular 5* item otherwise it'd be just a boost for players who pay... So that's a no from me, sorry.
