SO why are there only swords available at higher levels?
dont get me wrong a love swords as melee weapons, they're elegant, effective and look damn cool. and yet i still find myself wanting something different every now and again - why not a hammer, or an axe
now i know that you can get some at the lower levels, the hatchet and thwak hammer, but nothing after that.
i'm not talking about gigantic double handed war axes, but smaller single handed war axes - think gimli
this is a purely aesthetic change, they would operate in the exact same manner as swords do, realistically any single handed melee weapon could be used, short spears, war axes, hammers or glaives
while i know i dont have any concrete details to put down here id welcome anyone who has some to post them as well - it would be pretty cool to see some power axes cleaving through jellies and badass hammers crushing scuttlebots
ALSO
I've noticed a lot of people seem to asking for a pets system to be implemented, personally im fine without one but it still got me thinking and so here's a new (hopefully) concept for a pets system.
so the idea is basically an attack augmentation system
basically it begins with an additional upgradeable slot (pet slot) - buying at roughly 300CE for 30days
secondly split pets into two groups only, melee and ranged.
now lets begin with ranged pets - lets for example imagine one which does normal damage, a miniaturized shuffle/scuttle-bot would make an excellent model for this
the pet sits very close to the knight at all times, within 1 square at maximum, and to most aspects of the game world it is nothing more than a position, it doesn't exist
Heres where its different
the pet has no health and cannot take damage, it exists only to add an attack when its master does
when the knight attacks (i envision the pet to have a 2 shot combo but perhaps 1 shot would be more realistic) the pet attacks in the same direction on the first and last attack of the combo
the damage would have to be very low i.e. equivalent to a proto gun or a 1* gun and pets of different flavors can be acquired (recipes, vendors, tokens, whatever) so a knight can add an additional attack of any sort to theirs
perhaps some pets could sacrifice some damage for slight chance to inflict status ailments
melee pets work in the same manor, as the knight attacks so does the pet, in a small forward cone
So often i've seen a player die to a monster, attack it with the wrong weapon dealing light damage and it dies - this style of pet would help against this, they dont do enough damage by themselves to be much use but are great at dealing that little bit extra to finish off those pesky monsters that always take one more hit
A simple to implement, hell even i could do this and im still a student (games major), and effective pet system for an action mmorpg - though it is still mostly aesthetic
