I would just like to remind people that the OP is pitching a suggestion, in the suggestion portion of the forums. He is not demanding that SK drop everything and work on this trivial issue, but rather that they add it into the next update when they have the spare time.

This has turned from a suggestion to make the spikes in arenas deactivate once all monsters are defeated, into a flame war.

On one hand, yeah, you could just wait the extra few seconds, but even that gets annoying. Everything else is dead, and you have to wait for a bunch of unbeatable floor spikes to go under before continuing.
And it is just a minor thing, maybe in another update pack perhaps...? not as a TURN IT OFF NOW!

On topic: unless we are talking about different arenas, you can simply walk AROUND the spikes. So you don't have to wait for them to "go under".
And why are you (and the OP) in a hurry anyway? ;) It doesn't take THAT long, just relax, the elevator won't leave without you ;)

And for your info, this is actually pretty funny, the elevator DID leave without me. I was doina stage with my bro, and we ended up in the terminal. After a while of meddling, he headed for the lift. He stepped on, and the lift closed. My character was still around on the floor. I could still walk, and the lift went up without me.
'Course, I still ended up in Haven, so it was ok. Didn't make it any less funny though HAHAHAHAHAHA! LOLZ! ^^
K now back on topic. Spikes are tedious to avoid because everything else in the room is dead. But they aren't a huge issue, so it can wait till the next overhaul.
The only time the spikes are a problem is when the game lags. Otherwise, it is my idea of spreading the heat to those that need it. -1 for me.
You mean when someone manages to kill themselves on the spikes so you go and rez them for their heat? That's cold.
It's just really tedious having to avoid them, seeing as everything else is already dead. And sometimes I get hit anyway because the game-time lag means that I always seem further to myself than is actually being processed.

...the suggestion isn't just about a sore detail. Having to read it hurts my eyes. And my brain. If you're going to have someone take charge of your demand, you should commit to make yourself clear about it. Seriously, you admitted to being 22. Show some spine in that you can apply yourself better at grammar.
Now that it's put aside, I think your argument on why the spikes should be disabled is pretty poor. If OOO were to take this excuse to do it, I might as well ask for sword weapons' second and third hits to have a wider hitbox, due to missing the target while the blade deliberately clips through it. Because it wastes so much time defeating a monster.
In any case, I think OOO already pointed at the spikes in the arenas being an inconvenience, due to allowing self-killing on purpose and Heat-transferring through repeated reviving (what with the Healing Pads not far away). Is this a good thing? Maybe. The thing I don't want to see is for the fix to be a reason to buy the Heat Amplifier for the price it currently sells for. Which is, for 800 Energy, quite some bovine dropping, if you pardon me the modest language. Either reduce the price to something comparable to the upgrades (which last for 28 days more, for holy flying fiery rhinos' sake) or give the amplifier a greater boost (in Heat gain, say 80% or so, or heighten the timespan of the effect for at least a week). Or do both things, THAT would ensure a rise in sales, while effectively fixing an overlooked but useful exploit-friendly environment.

Why DO the arena spikes stay on after round 3 is up? I've never understood.
It's not too hard to go around, but it would be nice to make picking up mats and crowns that have landed on the spikes a little bit easier.

If you get killed by it after already completing the arena, then it is probably by coincidence or lag.
true it is an inconvenience for us especially if you are playing solo, forcing you to revive yourself...
but that MAY be the purpose of it.
If you can remember, even before you press the large button at third stage, the spikes already move up and down...
then it has no relation for it to stop when you complete the third stage...
if you think deeper... it could actually be active even while you are on the first and second stage!
(since you play on the same programed map regardless of which stage you are on)
so second,
the reason why i said, you should adjust was by considering the first point above...

I don't buy that, OOO isn't some hivemind that can only do one task at a time, just have a programmer make spikes turn off at the same time the last gate opens. This is hardly a difficult or time-consuming task.
Not that I'm demanding it, I was actually curious if there was a reason in the first place.
Yeah, I know. I mean, the corner traps (spike, poison and the like) turn off in those skull arena things in normal dungeons after you have defeated all the waves. Why not with the Arenas?

Spike people to death whilst they are running all over the room in order to get the hell away from the horde of monsters after them, yes. But not when they have defeated said monsters are then get hit by lag which ends up with them dead and having to revive, no matter what the cost (even if they had to revive a lot in the said room). I mean, in every other place (discounting the actual dungeons thmeselves) the traps turn off when you defeat the monsters, why not with this single room?

The general idea behind many areas in the game are that traps deactivate after you clear an area. Traps in danger rooms turn off when you defeat all the enemies. The jelly mini spawners in that one room in Jelly castle disappear when you pick up the key. (This was quietly done with the level payout patch.) The missiles in many areas of Ironclaw munitions factory stop firing when one person clears them. But the spikes in the third room of an arena keep going even after you clear the room.
I support this idea. But I also agree it shouldn't be top priority.
