What recommended 'level' should one be before starting to join parties for Jelly king spam?

I'm poor, and wearing this:

Tempered Calibur
Magnus
Jelly helm
Elemental cloak
Owlite shield

All level 10 due to wearing so long. I had cobalt helm, but wear jelly now so I can get a crown.

Think I would survive at jelly to at least make some money to get better gear? More than likely a single cursed sword would sell for quite a bit, though I do want the gun. There's plenty to choose from I guess.

I know there is better gear, like Venom striker for poisoning it, but like I said. I'm poor. Got 4k crowns, 200 energy, and 69 mist energy, because I can.

You'll be fine...

That's enough to contribute to the effort in a party of four. I'm similarly attired (Well, Tempered Calibur, elemental cloak & hood, horned owlite shield, shadowtech alchemer mk ii) and I do fine in parties of four that are in the mixed 2*/3* range of gear. You do have to be good enough to save up three health capsules each, and it helps if you can also save up 3 poison vials each and some other useful vials (curse vials are excellent!) If you tend to burn through all your health capsules and vials, you may need to work on your playstyle. I find that we can't do the jelly king as a two-player party though, with this level of gear, but then, maybe we just need to be luckier as we haven't hit the king with max vials and capsules yet. (Ideally, 3 each, health, poison, curse, and fire on each player, but that may be dreaming.) Practice runs are profitable too, if you don't res for energy too much. The jelly palace levels pay well, and are easier to get through once you know the layout, where you can lure them out and where you have to just suck it up and work around the spikes.

Where is the jelly king

Where is the jelly king exactly? Sorry, but its only my 2nd day playing. Is there a certain tier 2 level i have to go to, or does it not matter?

It's in Royal Jelly palace.

It's in Royal Jelly palace. You check the floors of the dungeons before you choose a tower, and see if it contains royal jelly palace, which is a stage of 3 floors total between 15-17.

Also, a problem. I tried 3 times to find a party, and all I get are rude people farming for recipes.\

Now it's telling me there ARE no parties on tier 2 of the gate containing jelly palace. How2findparty.

Chroma set with a Cautery

Chroma set with a Cautery Sword. Poison bomb optional if you're bad with poison vials.

And don't forget to shield! xP I hate when people never shield and just walk into jellies thinking they are going to move out the way...

Egh. I gotta be not afraid to

Egh. I gotta be not afraid to use a few energy to revive, considering how much I'm getting from these runs anyway.

Though random parties tend to be aaaa. Horrid. Any better ways to find parties?

The Graviton Bomb is a pretty

The Graviton Bomb is a pretty good weapon, if you're planning to go bomber.

Grabbing that with a Toxic Vaporizer and maybe an elemental Brandish or Cautery Sword will get you through the Jelly King fairly easily.

The jelly King in a nutshell

HARDEST. FIGHT. EVER. Why you ask?
Random person: yeah, why?
shut it!
Random person: okay! god you so mean!
The fight itself is a long one due to all the stuff going on. This is what you need to do. you listening?
Random person: .......yes?
I said shut it!
*calming down*
okay. these are the 5 basic rules:
1-HAVE A 4 PERSON PARTY!
-4 people make the fight alot easier. trying to solo is insane, and 3 people is still hard. with 4, you have a good group
2-HAVE GOOD GEAR!
-bad gear=low success. 2 star is the lowest. 3 star is fair. 4 star is great. 5 star gear is ULTIMATE, OVERBOARD, and says, "We better not die with me in this group."
3-WIELD A SHIELD!
-shield is important. One that has good resistance to piercing and normal does excellent (jellys do both i believe). just dont think your an indestructible wall and charge the guy (that kills you).
4-WIELD CORRECT ITEMS!
-items like Super health capsules (heal 6 bars), Super Curse/Fire/Posion vials do wonders (especially poison cuz he regens health), mecha knight kits KINDA help, but thats for people who fight with guns and/or bombs.
5-WIELD CORRECT WEAPONS!
-tons of stuff have different effects that go great in this fight, such as staus dealers like Venom Weiler (5 star bomb that poisons and does great elemental dmg, which i believe is great against jellies), or dmg bonus like Cautery Sword (3 star sword that has high bonus to slimes), or fast ROF like Sentenza (charge rocks AND does bonus dmg to slimes YAY!). try to pick a set that works. Gun/Bomb is good for dealing dmg.
Really, foolow these 5 steps and get some buds to help out, that jelly king will die pretty quickly! Also, earliest place tofight him is coral pawn ate 17th floor.
Random person: thank god you stopped talking!
YOU AGAIN!?
*takes out Valiance*
um......later......
BANZAI!!!!!!
*Random explosion, screaming*
Random person: AHHHHHHHHH! MOMMY!
(the random person thing is becuase some jerk said some mean stuff about me. forget my problems, though.....)

Cautery Sword

Hey Magnus, a question about the weapon.

Is Cautery Sword better than Tempered Caliber for Jelly King? I was pondering it, but I don't know how well the "Damage vs Slime: High" bonus works in practice.

Zedoshi

Wat.

J_A_S.....That's....no....just no.

For one, more people means it has more health. Unless EVERY one of your members knows what they're doing, you all can die easy. Having two people in 3-4* gear and keeping constant poison/damage is awesome. Three people that are smart seems best.

Then, pretending someone's being a noob near you. You should get that checked. Also, stop yelling. Paragraphs and spaces are nice too.

Wield items correctly....Yeah, at least you got that part. Poison and curse you have to keep constant, or slime will heal it all away.

'Have good gear' and 'wield correct weapons' is pretty much the same tip. Also, how are we supposed to get Sentenza without farming jelly king 5-8 times? (3-5 tokens per kill assuming.) Bombs are pretty dang hard to pull off in that fight, so good luck with that. Poison vials are much better. Not everyone can specifically afford a venom striker, but it's agreed that is an amazing weapon for that fight anyway.

Guns are NOT good for this fight, considering a lot of them do piercing damage. Guns that deal normal damage work good though, yeah, but swords are always stronger when you're just that close and spamming attacks.

"Earliest place to fight him is..." .....That's the only place to fight him. Floor 15-17. Changes with different gates though.

Another tip, even though I already blasted J_A_S's entire 'tips' page to pieces. If you don't have health capsule to use, don't be afraid to use 5 or 10 energy to revive. The reward is well worth it, and the crowns you get on the way there more than pay for it. Can't be touchy with energy when farming bosses.

This is what I got from fighting him 5 times today, and from talking to guildies who spam it. Hope that helped more than mental patient guy's dialogue to himself.

I've killed him at least 30 times

And had enough Jelly gems to make 5 Silversixes.

My Gear for most of those kills
Angelic Armor and Helm (Now Seraphic Armor and Helm)
Owl shield. Yes, the first one in the series. My Mighty Defender is in the shop for maintenance and oil change. (Still Owl Shield, hopefully will turn into an Aegis soon)
Tempered Calibur (Now Winmillion)

My advice:
Before you start the entire run, buy 1 of each:
1 super Poison
1 super Fire
1 super Health Pill

Conserve revives throughout the entire run, here's where party members come in handy. save all the cheap revives for the king. Pick up and save any fire, poison, and curse vials if possible. For the last spot you can either grab health pills or stun vials (Yes, stun vials)

Against the king himself:

Weapons of choice:
Poisonous Sword: Vile Striker. Can constantly inflict poison to save yourself some trouble.
Average Stabbalicious Sword: Calibur Series Using Calibur charged attack is actually fairly effective. I had a level 10 Tempered Calibur, and a charged swing would hit him 3 times for 168 damage a hit. it would also wipe out a few of the little guys around you.
Curse Sword: Faust Series

At the start, hurl one of each vial at him. Poison, fire, and curse if you have it. Then just start whaling away with normal attacks. When he changes color, put up your guard and back off while he goes on his topsy turvy rampage. Once you're out of range, start charging up your attack if you want. When he stops, let him have it. rinse and repeat.

As for the stun vials, why I suggested them is because they have huge knockback for all the little jellies. If you're having trouble getting to or away from the king, pull out one of these and hurl it at point blank. Woosh!

Just be ready to revive. On average you will revive twice. On speed runs expect to revive at least three or four times.

sorry

MY last comment was crazy, i got hopped up on sugar (no clue what i was syaing half the time).
The fight is difficult. Thats the point. As far as i know, thats it for the one floor you fight him. A few key points are:
1-he regens health every couplke of seconds
2-he spawns little royals and normals (no stuff sadly, should at least drop health, thats my opinion)
3-poison/teamwork really helps. Since he regens, hes just killing himslef (lucky if you have poison)
the guys a huge pain, but i think this a good way to fight him:
have 1-2 people running around, charging bombs (or swords, your pick. good if they cause poison) while the other 2 fight off the slimes. when you reach the jelly king, slash away. Dodge and repeat.
Believe this makes him stay in the center
Havenet fought him AND won (fought but lost :(....), but he must drop this wicked awesome stuff

e

He only drops mats like most mobs, and Jelly gems: Tokens you exchange for materials, brute jelly set, and two rare weapons that can chain craft into different things. Wicked awesome, yes, but takes time.

By the way, it's a complete waste of time to fight the jellies. He spawns about 5 every two seconds. Have all four team mates attacking CONSTANTLY. Either have a vile striker or two to poison, or have everyone using poison vial, then curse, then stun in that order of relevance. I don't know if the effects stack, but just make sure you keep it poisoned.

The only time you should stop attacking is to shield during it's spinning attacks, when Royal jelly turns pink. You can't be afraid to ress once and use 5 or 10 energy to keep damage flowing.

Regardless...

Regardless of whether vial effects stack, don't poison a poisoned jelly king. What you want from the poison is not any small damage effects or whatever, you want the 'cannot heal while poisoned' effect. If vial effects stack in power, they certainly do -not- stack in time, so spread them out!

I agree that the fight's a

I agree that the fight's a bit hard. Just did another run earlier tonight, working on my gun.. and didn't have to waste energy to revive once all the way through the entire run as I had teammates revive me and I'd just be really careful as I fought with 1-2 bars of health, Haha. Lots of blocking involved up to then.. so when I died to the King, it'd only cost 5 then 10. I think I died twice.

But yeah, we used Super Poison/Curse/Fire, and health capsules in the last slot. Went pretty easy. Only 3 Jelly Gems though, so that made me a sad camper.

I just finished doing a bunch

I just finished doing a bunch of Jelly runs last night to get my Faust, and the strategy that worked best for us was to rotate poison vial tossing so none are wasted while throwing whatever other vials people had whenever Royal Jelly stopped spinning. Fire and curse seem to work best besides poison, like people have said, and he hits himself for 153 damage or so when cursed! Freeze and stun help a bunch if you get swamped by the little jellies, too. With a mix of 3* and 4* gear he goes down quick, you just need to survive the spin attacks and keep him poisoned.

all you really need

Teamwork this all you really need and even if your entire party only has 2*equips plan out your attack coordinate and such i cant stress how much this is important without a plan you will get decimated also dont be afraid to revive friends the random jellies will rarely hurt you much unless your either cornered or get ganked this game would be so great if it had voice chat function :3 but just plan out your attack and make sure everyones on the same also if you can try to make a chromalisk set it has plus against jelly or any shadow weapon will also do bonus damage if not then just work out how your going to attack also calibur charge attack is extremely help to give yourself some space from the smaller jellies

2 manning

I just 2 man it my friend brings the vile striker i bring the avenger and we just run him over... we usally buy 1 super fire 1 super poison and 1 super curse, and most of the time we never die. We are both wearing Full Tier 4 (ash tail) and i use a mighty defender and he uses a Wise Owlite shield. We dont have much trouble at all. But were over geared xD and i consider myself well timed with my shields.

Using a sentenza against him now works really well.... i recomend it. Also 3 manned with a "good" bomber and went so much faster and more smoothly so i recomend if your 3+ manning make sure you find a good bomber (he was in 3*- 4* gear).

Thanks!

Magnus, I followed your advice and got the Cautery today, going to go try it out now. I also have the materials for the 3* Chroma Suit and could have it made, I just have a question (which anybody here could advise me on if you are far enough please). What line of the chroma suit should I ascend down? The fire resist or the poison resist? I am a sword user (primarily) and am making vog cub, currently on Dusker, so I was thinking I would have plenty of Fire resist with that set and go for the poison one, also it looks cooler... and I don't have a poison set yet. My second question is. Is the 3* suit better than Dusker set with it's sword dmg bonus? In other words, is +dmg vs slimes (weak) better than +dmg with swords (medium)?

It looks like it will be much cheaper for me to find a crafter with the line I want and beg them to level it up to 5 and then craft the 4* suit as well since I have almost all the materials. How much are the 5* recipes if I want to then upgrade it to the final version eventually? (I can't even afford 3* ones yet) Or would it be better to try to tip a crafter to level the 4* suit up to level 10 and then craft the final one for me?

Thanks for whoever can advise me! Sorry for all the mundane questions.

Choma

You don't actually NEED a Chroma suit to do the Jelly King, it would just provide a nice little bonus for that strata. Since Chroma is rare, the vast majority of people go down with their usual Helm and Armor. Just stick with your Dusker line and the bonus to your sword fighting will be more than sufficient to beat the king. With four knights going down, it really isn't that hard.

5* recipes are 45,000 Crowns, which can be purchased from Kozma or Basil in Tier 3.

viper901

Virilisk looks like a cool

Virilisk looks like a cool set anyway at 5*, does anybody know if the +dmg slimes outweighs the sword damage from vog cub? I would think not since it's low, but maybe it levels up with heat? Hopefully a poison land will come out and some point and it will have been worth creating it! Thanks for the advice Culture, I'll definitely be running him quite a lot in Dusker now to save for ash tail and maybe this chroma line as well.

My take on jelly king farming

1st time i fought him was me with all 2 star gear, nothing fancy. Static edge (lightning sword), and then the 2star cobalt armors and defender shield. Fortunately i was able to carry my weight (mostly) in getting there by bombing.

Anyhow, i think the key to winning the fight is just making sure to have a plan. When i got there it was me and one other person with good equipment (4stars).

1. I followed directions.
2.We had it planned, he shot the colored block as we stepped on the party button. Then you bum rush the jelly king in his spawn area so that all your vials hit him and not the the slimes. And you start off b/n him and the slimes rather than having to battle through the slimes to throw vials/hit him.
3. There is no reason to not have the necessary vials by the time you've reached the jelly king. You have enough floors that you should have 3 fire, 3 health, 3 poison and some curse. We had it planned. he threw poison, i threw fire. he threw curse.
4. we wacked away at him with swords, avoided his spinning to the best of our ability, when he stopped he threw poison, i threw fire, he threw curse.
Hit him with swords again and won.

I think the biggest thing is to make sure that you are throwing the vials intelligently. And bum rushing him right off the bat. THat way all your 1st vials hit flush on him. I mean, it would have been much worse off had we both thrown poison to start, then both thrown fire, etc.
I think he had the poison sword too which helped. So he may have only thrown the 1st poison and then focused on curse/fire.

3 man, 2* gear

Zedoshi, Did you manage to kill him?

I brought a pickup group in, our 4th left us in the Jelly Palace, and we managed to beat the jelly king in all 2* gear (except that I had a 3* sword). As long as you stay on top of the king, have 3x poison vials, 3x super health capsules, and some status effect vials, then he's not difficult. And in 8 tiers, it's easy to conserve pickups to have these items.

I ran it twice today for my first two kills ever. Just check with you group to see if they plan on going all the way. If you're still having trouble finding a group, msg me and I'll run with you tomorrow.

I think you'd be fine,

I think you'd be fine, honestly. The first time I went for him was in a group of 3, and all I had was a full Cobalt Set + Defender + Ascended Calibur. However, if you have the money/energy I would HIGHLY suggest a Vile Striker or even a Dread Venom Striker. You don't have to mess around with Poison vials as much due to the chance of poison on hit and the relatively fast hit times.

Aznguy
My first time I went up

My first time I went up against JK with my guild, most of my party died with me left running for my life with half bar of health left and by a miracle the JK died. Not sure if it was poison or a wall killing him but we lucked out. Second time we went against it we killed the sucker in under like 30 secs, lol. Go figure.

I now go through JK easily in a two member team. I now use an Ascended Calibur, Wolver Coat, Dusker Cap, and Horned Owl Shield. I suggest having 3 health capsules, 3 curses, 3 poison, and 3 fire vials. Should easily get those in the levels prior to JK. Using your charged atk to knock away the minions helps. I find it easy with a two member team than a full 4 party team because of the lower health. Just my opinion

I've had quite a lot of

I've had quite a lot of success in random parties not carrying a single health capsule (and not dying). I usually carry 12 vials (always try to have poison+curse) and just make sure I hit him point blank (very important to not waste them on little jellies) with them while concentrating on shielding so as to not die. The trick really is to make sure everyone ignores the little jellies and just concentrates on the JK. The only time I've failed hard is when everyone is running around trying not to die from the little buggers and letting the JK constantly heal himself.

Maybe I've just been lucky with my random party selection? Been through a couple times without anyone in the party doing a single energy rev thanks to people revving each other. 4 people on 1 bar of health is far more powerful than 1 person on 4 bars.
