I've been strolling through the Forums & Playing Spiral Knights it just suddenly hit me:

Why can't we change our Knight's Eyes to match our Personality?

And I'm not talking about Accessories to change our eyes, I mean Change our eyes. Just plain & Simple, Change our Eyes.
If I could make a List, it would be like this:(Borrowed from Forum Avatars)

Here is a List of Helms that won't be Affected by the Feature, as they Lack/Block Eyes:

-Spiral Pith Helm 0*
-Circuit Breaker Helm Line
-Fractured Mask of Seerus 1*(?)

-Skelly Mask Line
-Wolver Cap Lines
-Boosted Plate Helm 3*
-Flawed Mask of Seerus 3*(?)
-Quicksilver Helm Line
-Ancient Plate Helm 5*
-Azure Guardian Helm 5*
-Ironmight Plate Helm 5*
-Mercurial Demo Helm 5*
-Perfect Mask of Seerus 5*
-Volcanic Plate Helm 5*

Here is a List of Costume Helms that won't be Affected by the Feature, as they Lack/Block Eyes:

-Steam Knight Mask
-Bombhead Masks Obtained from Sullivan & Krogmo Bribes

Though I wear a Cyclops Cap (best hat ever), EYE wouldn't mind seein' some newer ways to look different from the rest. I know people want those almond eyes. It also helps that the eyes are nothin' more than a simple texture, either.

+1 and add a "barely visible" eyes to Quicksilver helm Ы

But they must add somthing to control camera's angle ( b-cause mostly all the time we can barely see our knights facez). lol personally i wish to try play it as a tps slasher/shooter...But that wont happen anyway. Also i want quick emote activation buttons ( 5 6 7 8 9 0 - = ) and some cool moves like heroic pose or windmill .

I use skolver and vog! D: but maybe we could have like an emote that shows the expression of the face through a speech bubble or something. like when you do like /e sadeyes a picture of a knight with sad eyes appears over your head

I hope I'm not reviving a dead topic, but I too would be in favor of customizable eyes. Have it a feature you can choose during character creation (and give all existing spiral knights a one-time option to change their eyes).

Good idea, but considering the following:

Considering that somewhere between 75%-90% of all Spiral Knights players use some form of wolver item, it would be a moot point having them, given wolver caps don't show eyes. Stickers of eyes over the little line-shaped eyes of the helms could work though.

Not only is this a great idea, but if you trawl through the SK character files you'll be pleased to see that with the Mission update came a slew of new eye shapes: Almond (Feminine), Cheeky, Closed (Tired), Determined (Angry), Dot (Confused), X, Happy, Jolly, Pill, +, Rage (Evil), Sad, Saultry [sic], Shifty, Sleepy (Grumpy), Spiral, Squint, and "Wat"

I'd be fully under support of this if changing eye shape were possible, even if it meant going to Vatel and buying some sort of item that'd permanently change them for something like 25,000 crowns.

Do want. And thank you for the necro, this is an amazing suggestion and I'm not sure why it's not implemented now.

Though, uh, this may be a little glitchy with many of the current helmets that produce glow effects overlayed on the eyes currently, like Volcanic, Ancient, Grey Owlite, and Ironmight, so I can see why they're putting it off.

Although this may be a Problem, it only Affects a Certain amount of Helms. There are Accessories that Cover the Eyes, too, but only a few. It's either wear a Faceless Helmet(ex. Azure Guardian Helm) or wear a Helm that's able to show your Eyes(ex. Mighty Cobalt Helm).

Since one will make them money and the other won't, we can guess which one they'll use

I still support the ability to have different eye-types. The textures FOR a ton of eye types are in the game files now.

And please please PLEASE don't make them front accessories. Either make them purchasable much like personal colors, or make a new accessory slot for them, and call it Eye Accessories.

We've discussed this feature from time to time. It would be fairly tricky to implement as knight heads basically swap out with helm changes, but it's not impossible.

Hey nick... Idea...

Try making the default eyes for each helm head thing be gone, and add an eye place thingy(sorry for vagueness :C) for each one... I'm unsure if there are major differences between say, jelly and ember, and cobalt... with regards to eye placement on a x,y,z graph.

Just a thought, and I hope it helps ^-^... cause this would be nice, especially with the new ready room :D

Yes, there is the helm design issue as well. Basically, some helms simply do not offer the opportunity for eye changes, like the pith helm which lacks glowing eyes altogether.
