Dragons!

Since the Spiral Knights are, well, knights, shouldn't they be fighting dragons at some point? Now, I would imaging that a dragon boss would have the following properties:
Damage Type:
Piercing damage (bite)
Normal damage (tail swipe), good chance of causing strong stun
Elemental damage (fire breath), good chance of causing strong fire
Strong Resistances:
Piercing (due to scale armor)
Elemental (hey, it's dragon armor!)
Immune to Fire
Weaknesses:
Shadow damage
Neutral resistances:
Normal damage
Drops:
Dragon Key (token)
Dragon Scale (material)
Pre-boss levels:
Cavernous, with elaborate puzzles involving spikes, buttons, switches, and gates.
Boss Fight:
Phase 1: First, you notice that there are water orb generators in the room. You step on the party button, and a vast, black dragon descends upon your party. It begins by hovering in the air, swiping and jabbing its tail at you. Each swipe strongly stuns you, so try to wait out these attacks until the dragon lands to roar at you. The dragon's mouth is its only weak area, and opens up when he roars. Hitting him in the mouth enough will make him enter the second phase.
Phase 2: The dragon stops its constant hovering and roaring and starts swooping at you, trying to bite you as it passes. Striking the dragon in the mouth with sufficient force (e.g., charge attack, hint hint?) will interrupt his attack and cause him to try again. Otherwise, you'll have to tank the damage he'll do to you as you strike back. Doing enough damage will cause him to enter the third phase.
Phase 3: The dragon is grounded now, but still dangerous. Now, it attempts to circle you as it blows fire in your faces. It's still only vulnerable in the mouth, but it only opens to breathe fire, and the breath knocks you back. The only way to get in is to put out his fire with water, which causes him to charge at you with his mouth open and try to bite you. After hitting him in the mouth enough times, phase 4 begins.
Phase 4: The dragon enters multiphase mode. It hovers in the air while jabbing at you with its tail, then lands to blow fire. If you put out the fire, it will charge at you (mouth open) and try to bite you. Successfully hitting it in the mouth enough will kill the dragon and win you the fight. You will be granted 1-5 tokens and every party member will receive a Dragon Scale material.
Bonus:
If you constantly freeze, stun, or tranquilize the dragon without otherwise hurting it, it will turn green and become friendly. You'll still be granted your drops. The dragon responds to emotes, e.g. acts happy when you laugh, releases a tear when you cry, and playfully darts around the room when you express a desire to dance. Turning the dragon friendly is very difficult and time consuming, and you won't get a Dragon Scale material if it lives, since the material is only dropped when the dragon dies.
What do you guys think of this boss fight?

Dude, there are a LOT of dragon types. Look at Dungeons and Dragons. But real men fear Gazebos.

well it could be like Vanaduke you know..he doesnt belong to any monster families. But i would see this being beast maybe?
Anyway i like the idea.

Boss? I'd rather have it as one of those really dangerous enemies that you probably don't want to disturb unless you're thoroughly prepared.

Yes, a Gazebo Boss...
Wikipedia definition of a gazebo: A gazebo is a pavilion structure, sometimes octagonal, that may be built, in parks, gardens, and spacious public areas.

Maybe not a boss, but maybe add a Dragon enemy first? Maybe we could even have a Beast family that's a mobile gun puppy, stopping randomly to fire, and in melee, scratches?

For those who don't know:

The Dragons could be like they did in Mother. You can see it but you can only fight it if your strong enough to do so.

well the thing is its damage stats fall in line with with the slimes famly so to be beast famliy it would have to be changed

shouldn't it be like dragons horde or something like that dragons gold although dragon scale sounds like a token name to

The resistances are identical to those of the Drake Scale set line, which is resistant to piercing and elemental. Dragons should be resistant to those anyways, because in most fiction, neither sword nor arrow could pierce a dragon's armor (read "pierce resistance"), and some stories have them living in fiery realms (that's elemental resistance). But they are not necessarily resistant to shadow damage - usually, "magical" weapons can take them down (that's similar to shadow damage). Hence, the resistances. Their damage types simply correspond to their attack types; bites with teeth will typically pierce, while fire-blowing is inherently elemental. The tail swipe doesn't do piercing damage, since even if it had spikes on it, most of the damage will be from the blunt impact (there's your normal damage).
I like the idea of mini-dragon beasts, though. Vog Cubs would be the nearest Wolver equivalent. However, these mini dragon beasts can blow fire like Gremlin Scorchers or Red Rovers and bite you thrice like Alpha Wolvers. They should still be capable of limited flight, like Phantoms. Mini-dragons don't have to replace the boss dragon; on the contrary, they could be the primary enemies in the pre-boss levels.
One way or another, Spiral Knights have to fight dragons. There's no two ways about it.

in ways id say yes to this idea. but to be honest ive head all kinds of dragons, dragon slayers and the like. im tired of fighting them so maybe the dragon could be an angered spirit to be calmed down? not particularly an enemy anymore perhaps but it makes it different from other dragon related subjects. and also gives another reason why it is attacking knights.

another fire boss?
i'd like more the idea of an ice dragon, i mean... we already have vannaduke.

Why not just make a pumped up Chroma-type boss with more dangerous abilities and stronger defenses. One that we actually fear.

Okay, how about this:
Kleptozilla, the Giant Kleptolisk
This boss will sometimes steal your pickups in his lick attacks, and his spit attacks leave a sleepy puddle that puts players to sleep when they step on it. The boss can turn completely invisible. He becomes visible only during his attack, and when his attack animation finishes, he becomes completely invisible again. Players can still bump into him, though. Attacking him does not cause him to become visible.
However, if the players keep the candle lit, then his total camouflage becomes standard chromalisk camouflage, allowing the players to see him easier. He's the smallest boss ever encountered, and is essentially a differently-colored Bull Chromalisk with super attacks, extra health, and super dodging abilities.
Not that this should replace the dragon concept, but I think I'd also like to see a chromalisk boss for a change.
What about drakes their should be recognized too. What would be great is if the dragon was wandering like the tortadrone and had exclusive drops

That's the second time the "Tortadrone" has been mentioned, so maybe we should consider it. If the dragon is independent like a tortadrone, it could have the following drops:
Drake Scale Helm/Armor/Shield (equipment)
Drake/Dragon Scale (material)
Primal Spark(s)
Drake Scale Pendant?

I can envision a dragon class, i mean knights are supposed to slay dragons right?
If they do implement it, they should transfer chromalisks to this class.

ok i was jest saying it has the same stats as slimes but the drake stuff unless it is drake the firey dragon of death then i thing it should have its own line of items and a cromolisk boss would be kinda cool and i will suport this with every thing i am ( which is not much)

make vanaduke ride him like the dragon is vanadukes pet (this is shadow realm of course)

how about it being that light status idea i posted on "water vials". then it could truly be a spirit, from the above. the light status is a efect that flashes you, causing the effect of not being able to see where you are going.

even if its wandering around, not a boss, i still feel like it should just be an angered spirit.
yeah points for wandering beast only problem. How many of you have actually scene the tortrodone. Make weaker guys (like drakes) to be slightily more common. Or make them only appear in danger areas or arenas like trojans
One thing missing is what monster class would it belong to other wise I thing it is a good Idea
