Guild Titles

I was just thinking about this one random day. What if the guild leader could give a title to specific members?
So it's like how you name a loadout, except it's on the knight.
The title should appear somewhere on Inspect, and under his/her Rank on the Guild list.
So like, a Guild leader could give a certain member at title: Combatmaster. Then the rest of the guild knows that this guy is really good at what he/she does, and receives special recognition in his/her guild.
Also, members who are on like a Temp guild ban for breaking guild code of conduct of whatever could be labelled also.
Other PROS:
Like for the Combatmaster title, members can receive recognition from their guildmates and perhaps could help to improve the quality of the guild as a whole.
Encourages players to be a good guildmember and help out.
CONS:
A guild leader could give a willing accomplice a ridiculous/vulgar name. (Is it possible to censor these things?)
Players could get jealous of other player's titles and abuse them, but then again, why would people want members like that in their guild?
A title COULD be made Visible to public/not visible to public. If you put on the 'not visible' option, then only guild members can see it. (Can this even be done?) So someone with the title 'Recruiting Officer' would have his title made public so recruits can go to him for invites.
They can be anything, like 'Most Valuable Member' or 'PVP Advisor', or even 'iowrjkiasdasd' for whatever reason...
Also, to issue a Title, there has to be an agreement between the giver and the receiver. So either like how trade requests work, or like how friend/guild requests work.
Comments?

Then I'll have to take off the possibility of a metaphorical Dunce hat for misbehaving guildmembers.
Its a tossable idea though.
Glad you support it. Even if only a little.

if any things happening to guild it has to be guild tabard, chapeau, and better guild halls.

^That too. Though I think for the moment, my idea's easier to implement. Although better guildhalls is a MUST. EVENTUALLY.
SWEET.

Agreed, this is a cool suggestion. I think the title Recruiter would be used often and well :D. anyway, there should be a public/non-public option

I don't see why not :P
Could be fun :)
Albeit I would think it more fun if the player can also display it to non-guild members.

Come on, people. If you don't think having the title "dipwad" in your guild is a good thing, then there is no hope for you.

@Sylvanius
That's true. Only I would prefer the title 'dilweed'.

I'm sorry, but I've been derping hard the last few days, and I don't quite understand.

Being in a LD guild, it would be nice to have people to consult about certain weapons, tactics, and the like. Sooo... +1!

OOps sorry psycho I missed your thread .-.
Right now, things relating to any of the following do not need to be menitoned / suggested: improving guilds, improving cosmetics, adding shmancy pets, or adding accessories is NOT important to spiralknights right now! change your thread title to something like "New Tier 3 Content" regardless of the thread's innards. OOO must make a survey question about whats important at least, NOT PETS!!! by the way just kidding about changing the title, making a new thread with that title would be nice though, don't feel obligated.
What SK DOES need is: balancing of the armors and new tier 3 non-shadow lair enjoyable, new content.
Anyways as for the suggestion itself: i like it. in my F2P tester account's guild I want my little new player jello man killing group to each of us having titles. One of us being the fire bomber, one being the graviton bomber, me being the annoying pulsar spammer, and the other being that guy we are carrying. This way people know our group roles should one of our guildies join in place of x guy we like to help out :3

Does anyone else have anything else to say?
All I got is 'Bump'.

great idea it helps for me and my friends who are in a guild to give each other fun titles.
it should be sent by mail saying "would you like the title --------------- ?"
underneath a button to accept title
that way you can't be given a bad title you don't like.
unless you don't care enough to just click accept and delete
your title can be changed.
guild master(s) can give titles

Actually, I just thought of that while ago, but forgot to post it.
Like a trade/friend request. 'Do you accept this title?' With a Confirm or accept button.

...
Ah, screw it, it's a good Idea.
+1

I quit my last guild (with the added reason that its very inactive) because i wanted to make a new one just to get a cool second name.
I am at the verge of doing so right now...
But if that thing applies, ill really join a famous guild then ask them to name me with what i was planning on...
Hey, guilds im open for invites xD

I love it!
Just be sure to have an "Would you like to accept this title?" prompt. ;)

I'll add it to the OP now that I have confirmation more than 2 people want it.
Titles would be the one of the greatest things that happened to this game! u sir have my thumbs up :D
If i had a title it would be "The Supreme Overlord" :3

Why haven't I +1'd this yet? I've read it like 50 times.
I'm all for more Guild stuff. ;P

There have been so many threads on guild suggestions... yet none of it seems to happen. Not sure that OOO likes the idea of making the guild hall worth visiting, or that guilds should be more than what they are.
Or maybe they're just busy.

There seem to be little to no implications of any ideas on the Suggestions forums, much less when you categorize them, as in updates for Guilds-exclusively.
The Guild Hall, as it stands, is almost a waste of content. It is little more than a private room in which more than 4 guildmates can meet in (And really, who uses that? We already have Guild and Officer chat...).
Besides the Mission system update (confirmed) and King Tinkinzar (rumored to be future content), I don't see what else they'd be busy with. But, I don't know how much staff they have or anything.
Regardless of all this, the beginning of the year (Generally until March) is usually a "down-time" for many games. Big updates are not very common during these times, they usually rack up some money for a couple months. Once Spring hits, then Summer, you can generally expect updates to come more frequently, due to more people actually playing; if you assume that the majority of SK's population is High-School~College students.

Great idea! This would be really cool, i hope OOO adds this! +1

Hello my old thread I had more or less given up on. Welcome to the front page :P

This needs to be added into Severage's monster thread.

You serious? Do you have a link?
I wouldn't mind adopting that guild thread.

it was in GC: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/50337

I don't normally +1 things, but I can think of few (and minor) downsides to this.
On the other hand, the uses to guilds and community building are pretty big.
I think this is a great idea.

I want to be "Raptor Jesus" or "Female Jeebus" or something.

Seems a little much to allow completely free will to a guildmaster to title others. Not only would there be far too many titles floating around, but also and moreover I don't think it's especially appropriate for the public nomenclature of a person to include a user-generated tag that will in most cases amount to juvenile vanity. (Just look at the "SK Dictionary" thread for an example).
What I think would be the most appropriate implementation of your good idea is the following:
Allow guildmasters to rename the already-existing levels of guild hierarchy, from Recruit up through Guildmaster. So in a given guild, for example, one could have the titles change from:
Recruit - Member - Veteran - Officer - Guildmaster
to:
Newbie - Member - Councilman - Master - Guildmaster
... or even something like:
Serf - Yeoman - Knight - Lord - King
... or really whatever catches your fancy.
not a bad suggestion at all but i think for example you should have the right to refuse the title if you do not wish to posess it, also it should be public so that way for example a newbie wants to join the guild but doesn't know who to ask, if the title was recluiter or something the issue would be fixed, public title display should be toggleable by the person that possesses the title so that only guild mates or everyone can see the title
