Something that devs REALLY need to do

i've seen a lot of threads asking for new stuff... guild hall improvements, pets, more weapons, new levels, etc. i think, devs need to fix some major issues in the game before releasing any new content, and that'd be the lack of balance between different weapons and armors:
i'll skip any lame and unnecessary explanation (cuz i know you know what i mean) and go straight to the point, there's the right stuff, and pointless/useless/lame stuff.
example:
almirian crusader armor: slight weakness vs fire/slight resistance vs curse.

conclusion:

and this happens with many other things:
vog cub > volcanic plate
skolver > ironmight plate
polaris > EVERYTHING, etc, etc.
this kind of things are the ones that ruin the game, i mean, in a game that you almost completely depend on your gear, you have completely unbalanced armor and items that make all the others suck, so to "get pro" you have to get THAT specific armor/weapon, and that frustrates players in many ways, most of all in Lockdown,(you know how skolver clones dominate lockdown matches). or when you reach 5* and you realize that your armor SUCKS.
and the result of this is an army of vog cub/skolver knights equipped with Polaris and Divine Avenger (myself included)
i want this to change, and i know this may represent a lot of work for devs, but they should AT LEAST fix armors, that are far less complicated to fix as weapons are (i know that'll never happen)

The new armor is inferior to most because OOO only cares about the rich (shadow lair runners) and wants costumes and cosmetics for the rich. they also like cosmetics, so expect them to do nothing but add pets.
They do not care about the game / gameplay.
Also.... you think that the volcanic plate armor is bad. 1. it has stun resistance, which is a part of vana / trojans. 2. it has better normal resistance, which is a big part against vana and trojans. 2. vog has sword ASI. sword asi isn't helpful on vana. asi low doesn't hurt guns that much because asi is the least important stat for guns.
And finally.... Polaris > all????? you obviously do not gun. you are a swordsman who equipped a polaris, tested it without gun damage bonuses and/or asi, and then never got another gun and called guns bad damage.
1. polaris has knockback. knockback is not helpful in groups in most situations, only solo.
2. polaris does not have great damage in groups / burst damage. only utility. a Nova Driver will out-aoe the crap out of a polaris any day of the week, and kill zombies making more space instead of just knocking them back. Polaris is purely utility, which is why you see most swordsman, like yourself, just picking one up and nothing else. If you do not have a nova driver and have never used one, you would not know.
3. polaris has a safety. its damage is not great with its safety at all. a nova driver is better at killing up-close monsters as well as groups as menitoned: up-close groups of monsters appear a lot in FSC.
4. polaris bullets are slow. is just a pain, because you'll knock a zombie out of the third bullet hitting, so you have more idiot swordsman without gun damage bonus / asi critiquing guns in general's damage by their situational polaris.
the only thing a polaris is good for is utility knockback while solo. it may be useful in a group, like say having 2 people use polaris and one shiver, because you don't knock them out of a DA charge etc. otherwise it is something that should be avoided. Also shock is crap. it cancels the knockback. A zombie will get a leap off between the shock hit. and no, shock doesn't ALWAYS stop zombie leaps.
Now out of FSC, its nice to carry around for gun puppies.

also, if you don't want to be just another vog or skolver as you said, then gunner is perfectly viable. they do good damage despite everything you will hear from swordsman w/ no dmg bonus polarises, they can hit dodgers (though you might want a BTB / piercing blade in a group). Also, they are great at not dying naturally.

I agree with that armor need some balancing, but the problem is a little more complicated than just some balancing (well, except the fact that wolver series armor are OP and would deserve a nerf).
The real problem is that there is only one end-game boss (without taking Shadow Lair in the mix, because the price is too high to regulary run it).
This strata, which is the hardest of the game (again, outside of Shadow Lair), has only 1 status : fire, which is by far the most feared damage type in there. Common sense makes you optimize for the hardest part of the game, so you are going to take some fire resist for there, unless you are masochist or dumb or want to make the game harder by making poor choice.
As a general rule, fire and shock are the most feared strata, so armors with those status automatically are more desirable. Also, elemental is the most encountered damage type, same thing. In LD, the most used weapon is piercing sword, thus piercing armors are the most used. Too bad, skelly, with its shadow resistance, freeze and poison resist, even though it's great, isn't going to be used because you barely need those things.
What would be a good solution ? First, diversify damage type and status. By that I mean :
- make piercing swords less desirable in LD and freeze less OP when you don't have resistance. Automatically, people will start using something else than Skolver
- create some more content with different damage type/status, which give about the same profit as Vanaduke. Or simply tweak existing content so that non-boss even strata give the same profit than a boss strata, or perhaps even more because boss strata give tokens. This would go a LONG way inciting people taking other armors.
- make freeze/poison a little more deadly so that people actually take those status seriously (for example, freeze not breaking on every hit from mobs for players)
By doing that, without changing any armor, more different armor will probably be used (well, wolver series still need a nerf). It would lead to a state near the one of weapons : about half is used, others are bad and no one really gives a damn.

Amen. Reminds me of when Nick said "Free players can experience the content should they pursue it" when EVERYONE was slamming him for shadow lairs. /0 respect.
anyways, there isn't any tweaking that needs to be done to make armor more useful. all there needs to be is more content. (Yes, CONTENT. NOT shadow lairs.)
Our issue there is that OOO isn't planning on expanding the game. they haven't since however long ago, as Vana has always been end-game (for as long as I know). If this was their original plan, it baffles me they made armor sets like jelly / skelly / ironmight plate etc. So basically, don't expect anything from OOO and youll be happy. Expect something and youll end up quitting the game because they simply do not care about their game. You usually use money to improve the game, but they must just prefer keeping it.

yea, some items are just plain stupid. When i see stuff like that i dont see any reason to use it. things like that are just to trap new players. They craft those things and then they eiter die a lot = using CE/mist revive making them buy more either with crowns (they have to play more and there is higher chance they will buy it with $$$ sooner) or with $$ what makes OOO happy. Also if they realize it sucks they need CE to craft new things which leads to the previous conclusion = makes OOO happy.
Also same about insanely overpriced stuff. Recent heat amps. I dont see why would anyone buy it. Heating full set of fresh 5* stuff is just 10 vana runs. Noone sane will buy a 30 days heat amp... unless he is new. He bought CE ( maybe a starter pack) and he want some stuff. He dont know what he needs since he is new, so he spent CE on stupid stuff that he dont needs while OOO is happy.
You will say now why i mention this. ITS THTE MOST KNOWN METHOD of ripping players off by devs. Put insignifant content that is NOT TO give players better gaming experience but to ripp off players from money.
Also there is another method that game devs use. They launch a game, add new content, everyone are happy but then it looks like they run out of ideas. No new content for long time, some crap stuff (SL), only cosmetic things to make you sink more $$$ in game. And then, its like game dies. And what is most suprising? The devs are making silently a whole new game. And then you realize that you were used by devs and they made you their milking cow, to milk you out of money and use it not to improve game you play but to launch completly diffrent game.
SK currently looks like second phase, they just put in some cosmetic stuff, not real content, while making hell out of "awesome" $$$ promos to suck up your wallet.
Hope other players will raise their voice, before it will be too late.

FIX
