Chat divided into TABS - Modification in current chat system + trade chat issue IMPORTANT!

Many players are living convinced that the only right place for selling and buying items is TRADE channel. Its not allowed on zone or either general chat. Then why almost every players is posting trade offers on ZONE, or sometimes even shouting them on general (while zone is not as annoying then shout is most annoying since it not only covers space in chat but also on scree)?
Becouse trade channel is tunred off by default for all players. It takes a while to turn it on and learn how to use (you need to type /join 2 in chat to turn it on). And becouse of that its impossible to reach most of new T1 players via trade channel for someone selling mats (that are needed to craft T2 weapons) or premade 2 and 3 star weapons. Bevouse of that they use zone or geneal with shouts for trade.
If trade chat would be turned on by default, everyone could reach anyone (not revelant if its new player, or old player) via trade channel and sell his goods to anyone.
Possible option:
- trade channel turned on by default
- trade channel on diffrent tab so it wont interfere with regular chat

Thats why chat should be divided into separate tabs, not just one big river of guild/tells/general/zones/trades
There will be separate tab for all of those channels. Like in chatbox. You click General and you see just what ppl talk on the speaking distance (no other thngs). You switch to trade and you have plain trade offers WTS/WTB/WWT. You go to tab guild for guildies.
There could be even tabs for /tells so you will keep conversation with certain person in one place. It would also eliminate problem when multiple persons are telling to you and you constantly keep /reply to wrong peorons.
Im suprised that only one person answered here, since in other topics i saw so many others complaining that ZONE/GENERAL is not a place for trading.
Everyone says its bad, noone tries to find a solution?

Also we should be able to expand chat window. When we are not doing clockwors and we are in game just to chat or to track trade channel looking for things we want it would be good if we would be able to expand chat window.
Currently its too smal and claustrophobic. It seems that devs assumed that only thing that will appear on chat is "xxx winks" "xxx waves" from preconfigured commands/animations.
If one wants to have real conversation, one chat piece can cover more than half of current chat window, and to go back in conversaion you have to click the hell out of that small "go up" button. Which leads to next point:
- chat should have scroolbar

I like the tabs idea, but there should also be a tab where you can see all the chat that is going on at the same time, like it is right now, otherwise if you were having a few conversations you would need to keep on switching back and forth between different chat windows. And a pop up/scroll bar would be amazing.

This is just a simple sketch how it could look like. There would be a tab for every existing channel we have now, general, guild, trade. Also you would be able to open chat channels to certain persons (instead of using constantly tells or reply - useful when making conversation with multiple ppl at once). Also there should be possibility to add custom chat tab like /join Player1, player2, player10,trade,guild to open a chat tab that would show tells from players 1,2,10 and also posts from guild chat and trade chat.
Every tab could be closed and opened again. Instead of current up/down buttons there would be a scroll bar to prevent clicking in order to reach top of chat window. If chat window would be scolled all the way down to newest msge, it would stay that way tracking newest chat pieces. If you would start scroling up, it would now move and it wont go to newest chat piece unless you will scroll it all way down back to newest chat.
Also the little arrow directed to upper right corner just under scroll bar would be and "expand chat" button. It would be for those that are not really intrested about what is happening in game, but rather what is happening on chat. It would double the size of chatbox or even make it full screen to make it that most of longest chat pieces would take just one line instead of taking whole chat space (which is happening now).

That, sir, is beautiful. The only thing I would add is a tab for all chat called, strangely enough, 'All'.

I forgot to mention. The tab where you would recive a msg could blink somehow. It could be annoying for trade/general maybe guild chat but very helpful for multiple tell/private tabs opened. The appropriate tickbox for turning this on or off could be in settings/options.
Also the little tab with > arrow mark could be used to scroll tab bar, when you would have too much tabs opened to see them all at once.
All tab is good idea, somehow its covered by custom tabs and if custom tabs function would be implemented it could be covered by /join general, trade, guild
And just like its now, if you join channel, you have to leave it manually, in TAB chat system the tabs you open once would not close (even if you log out) untill you close them by yourself.

"The chat system in general is quite messy; the feed moves fast and is hard to read and scroll through (one reason why trade chat isnt too helpful).
There should be a button that makes it bigger (say AH window sized), and just as there's separate tabs in the AH window for each function, there could be separate tabs in the expanded chat window for trade, zone, world, or whatever else seems useful. It tracks each one separately while its a window, and you could toggle which chat youre in whether the window is minimized or not"
I copypasted this from a conversation I had with a friend; you've captured my idea much more succinctly in your image XD
+1

Because i felt something was missing in the new UI update,

Yeah, I also brought some of the troll/discussion threads back from the dead.
Place was getting boring anyway.

Because I love to see people go wild on them, then realizing it's a thread from 50 pages ago.
Good times to be had.
The trade channel used to be on by default, but most people complained, and it was set to off by default.
The problem that needs solving, is that trade chat invariably leaks into general and zone chat because it's too much of a hassle to yell in /2 and fish for responses, and the majority of the population doesn't want to get trade chat spam. Hence leading to trade chat becoming mostly useless, and traders fishing for bites where they shouldn't be, in general or zone chat.
The solution I propose is: when you are logged on, you have the option of posting a trade message, which is a *short* advertisement for what you want to buy or sell. Trade chat is replaced by a Trade Panel, which basically lists all the active advertisements at any given time. Postings could also be subdivided into categories like WTB/WTS, or mats/recipe/equipment/usables/accessories, with players limited to one WTB and one WTS posting. This eliminates the need to spam a message repeatedly hoping that a potential buyer will be online to see it- all a buyer (or seller) has to do is open up the Trade Panel and scroll through the listings. When a knight goes off into the clockworks, Lockdown/Blast Network or logs off, all of their listings are automatically deleted (for the non-logoff cases, the listings are saved and put back on when the knight returns to Haven).
