Introduction and Rules

So recently I had this idea that was infleuced by the game "Lockdown." So I was thinking what if you had a group of 4 people and then you could battle monsters that someone else summoned? So the idea is your party is in the middle of an arena and then all around is gates. As you start, the person controling has the power to summon monsters to defeat you out of the gates. Though they cannot summon like 10 trojans at once, they have Energy (Not real energy) that regens over time. The objective is to kill remaining knights but the knights can win if they do enough damage to the gates. Once all gates are elimated, the knights win. I think the gates should have 5000 HP each. The person controling can have a max of 1000 energy and the energy started out with is 500. There are 5 gates.

Modes of battle:
Beginning - This is where the controller is trying to use his energy to just kill the knights.

Stalemate - When this happens, the requirements must be reached: 2:00 minutes left, 3 or more gates are still standing. This will cause the controller to earn extra energy per second to make the game end.

Power mode - If there is just 4:00 or less on the clock and 3 gates are already destroyed, the gates will automatically send 10 mechas with a trojan. The controller in this time can gain energy and try to kill the foes.

Guardian mode - This will happen if there are still 4 or 5 gates and the team has been hurt more than 40 hearts combined. The knights will be given extra defence toward each hit.

Area:
The area of the arena is quite big enough to walk around in. There is team chat in this only for the knights to talk to each other. It is like 2x as big as the area of the Iron claw edge arenas. This will allow you to move swiftly and quickly to dodge enemy attacks.

Monsters - Energy required

Starting the game:

As you start a game, there will be three buttons: Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3. The majority vote wins. When you start, you will have a 10 second intermission where you can get ready. If the gates are down, the game has started. You will have 5:00 to finish the game. Though if time runs out, the controller automatically wins. Unlike the other 2 games, this requires energy. If you do not have energy, you cannot play. If you die, a teammate can heal you. You cannot revive yourself or that will result cheating. The monsters do not drop heat or crowns because it would lose the point of the official clockworks.

Controller interface:

When you are in-game and the intermission has turned to 0, the controller's Guide user interface will appear. There are serveral buttons where you can use. The first one is the one, there is a scroll and buttons. The scroll will allow you to scroll through more monsters. The buttons are the monsters, but the monsters will appear randomly at any gate so be aware of that. The GUI next to it tells you the player's health points and damage each has taken. Also it tells everyone's status effects. There isn't a room where the controller sits but they have the power to move around the arena. The person doesn't show but they are in fly mode. Kind of like studio mode.

Finish:
If the knights all die, the game will say "Match Finished" and show the controller.
If the Controller dies, the game will say "Match Finished" and show the middle of the arena.
If the time runs out, the game will say "Stalemate" showing the middle of the arena

Hate it?
Please politely reply that you don't like it. Just say it's a bad idea. I'd appreciate it more than if you just say, "You're stupid! What idea is that?" Even a "no" would work.

DO NOT POST UNTIL YOU READ ALL OF THIS.

Like it?
Say support or other changes to be made. This isn't perfect so go and help me out by saying other ideas.

Player suggestions:
-Winners get 500-600 crowns
-Energy regenerates fast. Maybe 50 per second.
-Weaker versions of bosses that costs tons of energy.
-No summoner and make endless survival.
-Cooldown to summoning monsters.
-What if you could spend crafting materials to enhance your monsters that are summoned.
-Cooldown sounds like the way to go.
-players could just opt to have random generator

Big suggestions by readers:

1. If a single person is allowed control of the room, I don't think people would like the guy too long. (AKA develop a random denomination of who controls the room, if this weren't Capt. Obvious enough)

2. I see this being more of a "People who complete T3" option than one in which a mere noob can do. Could there be a way to adjust the interface to better suit even the newer players? Or will this have a system more akin to lockdown (higher tier gets more selection basically)?

3.I think some unique "twists" should be available to the controller for some manner of cost (be it X health lost in 10 secs or whatever)... these twists could include:
Spawning a drone knight of Randomly generated set in the tier for a few seconds (i.e. mad bomber, snarbolax set, angelic set, etc.)
Spawning a bomb payload on the group (5, 10, 20 randomly generated bombs in a drop, location randomly determined)
Creature "Upgrades"
Status effect fields opening in randomized locations (limit the space of the arena)

4. The window that asks if people want to play again should provide privacy in this case and should only ask the players individually... not give away the controller's id because I see some people becoming very... unhappy with controllers should they prove a tad too good.

5.If the controller receives those twists, allow some health drops to fully restore the knights. Enable certain perks to be available to the knights as well. (Don't know as of yet what said perks would be)

6.4 Gates of Doom - In this one , Its a 2v2 (3v3). The Goal is to destroy the opponents 2 gates (and kill the controller). One person on each team is the controller to prevent the other team from breaking the gates , the rest of a team has to break the gates.

7.Killathon - This one has a lot of detail (NOT) . This one is a long game mode. The goal is to kill all 5 mini bosses (5 out of 15 is selected by the controller) . At the same time the controller will be able to place other monsters as well (But he will not be able to place monsters like trogans).

8.maybe the players could choose three types of damage they wanted before the match began, like poison, fire, and freeze, then some of the monsters sent in could randomly be turned into that type

i like this idea myself

i have an idea that you should be able to summon weaker version of the bosses (a.k.a enemy's that are just unusually stronger than the others but not over powered like your snarbolax idea just have weaker versions of bosses that cost a huge amount of "energy" for the summoner).

4 guys can kill a trojan in like 10 seconds. How fast would this energy be regenerating?

Wouldn't freeze bombs be kinda OP in this? Imagine you spawning some slimes, enemy freezing them all up and squishing them instantly o.O

Imagen de Varo
Varo
Okay.

@Nacho

This isn't real energy. It's the energy in-game unless you want to rename it.

@Biodragey

Well, clicking buttons is alittle abnormal more SK but how are they going to summon monsters?

@Uuni

I see your point but I did see that flaw so the problem I'm trying to figure is how fast the energy would regen. Maybe 50 per second. Freeze bombs? I guess it would be so maybe some of them are resistant to a different status. Some can't freeze and some can.

Like the idea

Though a good suggestion might be to implement a keyboard hotkey thing...

Like T for Trojan.

You know, so that the controller doesnt always have to be crazy about his scrolling and mouse ability.

I like it, but I almost sure

I like it, but I'm almost sure this would prove VERY hard to balance, I mean, ppl would either spam waves and waves of monsters, or have to be freakin skilled to win against 4 kinghts only with scuttlebots/weak enemies....

Imagen de Varo
Varo
They could send stronger

They could send stronger enemies. I'm still deciding if I will make it 100 energy per second so that they can summon like 2 scuttlebots per second.

Imagen de Blue-Phaze
Blue-Phaze
2 scuttlebots per second?

2 scuttlebots per second? that seems overly overpowered...
Look, something that could probably work better than energy recharging, would be a cooldown for each monster.
You'd be able to send a scuttlebot every 1.5 secs, a trojan every 40 seconds etc regardless of which monsters you just summoned. This way, you wouldn't spam the heck outta weaker enemies (in big hordes they become quite a pain).
the more powerful the monster, the longer its cooldown.

Cooldowns would probably open more possibilities for strategizing which combinations of enemies are harder to defeat (Mechas+Wings for instance), instead of having to wait for your energy to recharge because you accidentaly summoned a snarbolax.....

btw, you can change your the title by clicking "edit" tab at the top....

Imagen de Varo
Varo
Great Idea.

Great Idea. I mean, cooldown? I didn't think of that. I know how to edit. I been editing. I just mean like I didn't know you could change the title. Btw, I'll add the cooldown idea to player suggestions.

Wasn't the Colosseum

Wasn't the Colosseum established(lore wise) so the monsters of Cradle could watch the knights fight each other for a change?

But I support this apart from that minor nitpick of mine.

Imagen de Varo
Varo
True. It was a suggestion.

True. It was a suggestion. Though in many lores I read, the Colosseum was established to kill many people and not just for people to fight others.

@Aemicus

Aemicus, I already said. It doesn't cost energy. There is a thing called energy. It's not real energy. It's fake just for the game. I can name it anything else but just call it "energy".

Imagen de Blue-Phaze
Blue-Phaze
In other words, the energy

In other words, we'll use another kind of energy, exclusive to Monster Battalion; you will not use your mist neither your crystal energy.
It just has the same name. We could possibly rename it to "Mana", "Magic Points", "Spell Points", or whatever close to that, unless you think it's too mainstream.
OR use cooldowns instead of energy to prevent further confusion... but that's up to Varo.

I guess Varo thought you were talking about the energy to summon monsters; not the entry cost.
I agree with you though, 10 CE is too much if you're only getting 300/400 crowns in return (IF you win).
5 CE would be much more fair, since it values 300/350 crowns (You basically get your money back).

It'd be a lot more fun if it were like Aemicus said, just 200 cr like everything else, and without any specific enemies... it'd also be interesting to make it timed, and have 2 teams 'competing' like in lockdown... or maybe just waves of enemies... regardless, it'd be awesome.

Lots of ways this can go.

@Aemicus

I am not blind. Look at player suggestions. You made an idea as 200 crowns so I put it on player suggestions. I will keep the idea the way I planned it but player suggestions on player suggestions. It specifically states: "200 crowns" under player suggestions.

"Aemicus, I already said. It doesn't cost energy."
"Cost to play: 10 CE"

I never said that you were blind, but you said top quote earlier earlier, when in the version you still have, it says that it costs 10 CE to play. I'm sorry if there is something that I'm not getting, but it looks like it still costs energy to me. So don't say it doesn't cost 10 CE to play until you actually implement player suggestions into your idea.

Suggestion to add to this:

Suggestion to add to this:

What if you could spend crafting materials to enhance your monsters that are summoned.
It may be a good material sink.

Like, using a fire based material could change a zombie into a slag walker and such.

Interesting idea but

Interesting idea, but there's a a lot problems.

For example, people will just summon a hoard of phantoms because they cannot be killed.

Besides, is this a 4v4 game? Or a 4v1 game? Or a 4vAI game?
How will the controller control the gates without having to constantly scroll through a big long list of enemies that they want to summon?

Imagen de Varo
Varo
Nice comments.

@Alunova

Great Idea. I'll add it to player suggestions.

@Hmmnm

The thing with phatoms is that they can be summoned and if they die, they die. It might could will only revive once and it's easy to defeat and a horde wouldn't be possible if there is only 1000 "energy" max. you could only summon like 3 in the beginning and then have to wait. By then, they would probably die already.

This is a 4v1 game and I suppose it's a list but small icons big enough to see and you just easily click them.
