Finally saw my first MewKat and whattya know? We found two of them on the same floor ^^

The Magikat is the only rare
The Magikat is the only rare monster I've found ... but it was right by some other regular ghost cats and so I instantly tore through it when I saw it ... only later realising it was much smaller and not attacking me and so probably was a Magikat = heartbroken. Although, the massive gold coin it dropped was of some compensation.

Magikat is just the hat, as I'm certain the Kat family has no actual magikat monster.
Mewkats (should) drop Mewkat Hats, not magikat hats.
