Spears

SK has at least one melee weapon for most classes of swords. Calibur/Brandish/Proto sword/all 0* and 1* items besides the hatchet series fit into the category of shortswords because of their range and hit speed. Flourish/Snarble barbs are rapiers. Troika/Sealed Sword lines are longswords. And that's just about all of the types you would need to fit almost any strategy. But I think it's lacking one more strategy, which would be opened by the introduction of spears.

A spear would kind of be a combo of rapiers and longswords. It would deal split piercing and normal damage (or all piercing if you prefer, as well as those variants with other damage types). Its hit range would be the largest in the game, at least 1.5x or 2x the range of the longswords/rapiers, although the actual hitbox would be pretty slim compared to most other swords. It would be a 2-hit combo, with the exception of one line, which has a 3-hit combo and the last hit is a 360 degree spin around your character. Both hits would consist of stabbing, the first hit just thrusting it forward and the second hit sending you forward whilst stabbing again. They would hit faster then longswords, but deal less damage. The charge attack is... *sunglasses* a charge attack. The user rushes forward with the spear out, much like slag guards. Damage is also dealt like slag guards, meaning if an enemy is caught directly in the charge they may take damage several times.

I have a few spear ideas for starters. You guys can give me suggestions for other star ratings of these, or new ones all together, if you want. "Normal" means what's listed above, unless it's a Damage type.

1) Periastron (2*), Sharpened Periastron (3*), Tempest Periastron (4*), Indomitus (5*)
- Basic spear, has the attributes listed above
- Damage: Normal
- Damage type: Piercing, Normal
- Hit speed: Normal
- Combo: Normal
- Charge: Normal
- Status inflicts: None

2) Azurewrath (5*)
- Upgrade of Tempest Periastron
- Damage: Slightly less then Indomitus
- Damage type: Piercing, Elemental
- Hit speed: Normal
- Combo: 2 hits
- Charge: Normal, but with a large blue explosion at the end
- Status inflicts: Good chance of causing Strong Freeze

3) Morning Star (2*)
- A heavy spear that can be used for smashing
- Damage: Considerably higher then normal
- Damage type: Piercing, Normal
- Hit speed: Slower then normal
- Combo: 2 hits
- Charge: Normal, but move slower then other spears
- Status inflicts: Fair chance of causing Moderate Stun

4) Guardsman's Spear (4*), Chief Guardsman's Spear (5*)
- This spear can be used to spin
- Damage: Normal
- Damage type: Piercing, Normal
- Hit speed: Normal
- Combo: 3 hits (3rd being a quick calibur-style spin around your character)
- Charge: Normal
- Status inflcts: None

5) Shadow Dancer (3*, Jelly Gem token reward), Shadow Shifter (4*), Point Fear (5*)
- A basic spear, but oddly evil
- Damage: Slightly higher then normal
- Damage type: Piercing, Shadow
- Hit speed: Normal
- Combo: 2 hits
- Status inflicts: None
- Charge: Normal

6) Storm Scepter (5*)
- Upgrade branch of Guardsman's Spear
- Charge: The user spins so fast that they create a minor tornado-like vortex of suction around them. Nearby enemies are pulled in, and the tornado works much like a vortex bomb. Enemies take small damage very rapidly while in contact with the tornado, and then the user finishes it off by blasting the tornado, causing enemies to take serious damage if nearby and flinging them outward.
- Charge time: Much longer then normal
- Damage: Considerably less then normal
- Damage type: Piercing, Elemental
- Hit speed: Normal
- Combo: 3 hits (First 2 being the other spear's combo, and the third a spin attack like the guardsman's spear except more powerful)
- Status inflicts: Minor chance of causing Powerful Shock
