That will make Rommil happy

and frankly, it makes me happy too. Did you expect for them to give you all the wings with a CE pack? I'm not sure what you are upset about... it was obvious that it was a CE promotionial item. Also, you will be glad to know they come unbound, so if you don't like the idea of spending IRL cash, feel free to use your ingame monies to buy from willing sellers.

.

I like how they're given away "free" with CE packs, just I hate how I will (most likely) never have the ones I always wanted since when I've found them in SpiralSpy.

Percentages.

I'm pretty sure the chances were never listed before.

It's a nice touch though.

Meh...

I'll get excited once they start releasing real content. Missions > accessories...

I don't follow

why won't you have the ones you want? You have the same chance as anyone else to get them if you buy a CE pack, or even more so if you decide to buy one from /2... and there will be some for sale.

@Eeyup

More like EeNOPE.

I will (most likely) never have the ones I always wanted.

Not true! There are others who want certain types over the so called "rare ones" so you might find someone willing to trade instantly (or a scumbag who wants to trade the wings but wants you to throw some CE at him too) or worst case you spam trade chat for a while before you find one.

I fully understand OOO must

I fully understand OOO must sell CE to make a profit off the game, and I have been one of the people that vocally support them doing the CE promotions to get more revenue. But I am going to be disappointed if all the "Year of the Dragon" thing turns out to be is a CE promotion.

Why?

Because announcing in the "What's in Development 2012" thread that there was going to be a Year of the Dragon promotion made it sound like you know... there would be something to DO. Rose Regalia doesn't get announced in the "What's in Development" threads, neither did Sonic stuff, Stranger Hats or any of the other costume items. Accessories did when they were first being released, but that was adding an entire new feature to the game, same thing for the featured auctions.

The difference between featured auctions and accessories being told about in the "What's in Development" threads is they weren't worded to sound like we may get something new to do! They were "Hey! New shinies for you!" and "Hey! Rare stuff for you rich players to throw a huge amount of crowns at!"

I expected the wings to be a CE pack, I was also expecting some kind of event to make it worth mentioning in the Development thread. I really hope the "Year of the Dragon" thing is more then just this. A little festival where we get something to do, even if its just hunting down a re-skinned Punkin to get tokens for a dragon mask. Otherwise honestly this is meh to me. I'll wait a week or 2 and pick up a set of the wings after the market gets flooded with them.

If the wings fall as far as

If the wings fall as far as the stranger hats did (or even close), I'm definitely picking some up.

As for Gwenyvier's comment. I agree. I was hoping for something like the harvest festival (or whatever they called it with the pumpkin king). Decorating town square like a china town would have been cool.

tsk tsk, instead of actual content another CE promo... sounds familiar?

I could share my theory but last time i did it, my topic was closed and admin added a comment about tin foil cap or something... rawr-cake should remember it.

Asukalanforum: promos are not offered "instead of" content. The dev team has been working steadily on missions. In parallel with that, some promos are offered.

maybe I'm being too hopeful

I do wonder about the ending date...it ends on the day before Valentine's Day...maybe we will get a "lovely" new something then?

One question..

Why isn't the promo available through cellphone? I've been able to purchase the Rose Regalia with it, why should Dragon Wings be any different? And if the issue isn't that they're unavailable, but rather that the Starter Pack taking priority, I'd like to see that changed so that you have a choice, rather than being forced to buy it. Of course, my last theory, and the one I'm leaning hopeful on, is that it hasn't been added to the list yet.

It's a regular promo after all, why it should be excluded while Rose Regalia wasn't does not make any sense to me whatsoever.
I'll be patiently awaiting a response on this matter.

No-Thanks
Zelda

accessories are annoying because u cant take them off armors after attaching, but those wings look pretty cool, so id buy some(given that theyre incredibly cheap in the auction) even if theyre doomed to suckle on my different armors

@No-Thanks

Well, technically you can take them off, at the expense of destroying the accessory in the process however.
Bit of an unnecessary detail if you ask me.

man booted up the game for the first time in more then a month... still boring :(
i'm tired of running the same things (FSC/RJ...) to earn some decent (ingame) money. (and no normal T3 runs won't give you any profit for the effort)

it's a little strange

With other online games, I can leave for 1-2 months and come back with lots of new maps/characters/weapons/game modes to play, along with new promos for them to make money. With SK, I return after 2 months (I logged in to see the snow and Santa hats) and there's still nothing new to play. I'm SK rich. I love decorating my character in games. But there's nothing new to play. Granted I never bothered to play the Shadow lairs much, and new drones were neat, but really nothing in terms of new levels or adventures to be had.

I'm sure anyone who follows Nick on twitter knows he's been playing some other games, like Dragon Nest. I won't get into discussing DN likes/dislikes here, but I played it. He's played it. He may not be aware of the rate of updates, but there is content constantly pouring in for that game. Granted, OOO is not as big as the DN team, but the key here is consistency, not quantity. Players know they can keep coming back for more content every week or two, even if they finished it all in a day. With SK, it's a crap shoot. Will there be new content in a month? Who knows! Sometimes a month has 2 content updates. I can only assume whatever they've got boiling (the Core?) is huge, but that doesn't excuse them from not putting out content. Inconsistency hurts community-driven online games (I'm refraining from calling it an MMO since there's nothing massive about 4 player co-op or 8, even 16 player pvp). Even if OOO has something huge in store, they need to keep feeding content bread crumbs, or the folks who tend to leave for a little while and come back to give them more money may not come back anymore.

I hate to pressure the devs, since I'm one also and fan pressure, self-righteous, uninformed opinions can be really annoying. I just think they've been making a mistake with content roll-out. When people leave because they don't like the gameplay, that's fine. You can't really stop them. But when people leave due to low content, and they return to see what's new, and there's still nothing new to play, there's a problem.

Oh yeah, dragon wings look cool, so good job there. Also really appreciate the percentages. Players rarely get to see those numbers so definitively (good or bad? not sure).

P.S. We've worked with SEGA before and let's just say that didn't go well. They... totally screwed up. So I feel for OOO. They probably have to deal with some crap they can't control.

Wings: AMAZING Lack of

Wings: AMAZING
Lack of playable content: Not so much

However, I will say that I can understand that you guys ARE in fact developing more content, and that this just came out before the actual content... likely because it was a tad bit less extensive, and a tad bit less of an update all around... kind of a promo to tide us over until the missions. Hopefully, the actual content will be as impressive as the wings.

@Merethif i said we need to

@Merethif i said we need to run it just to get some crowns in our pocket :(

the last month i had an elevator pass and was running single T3 runs (every gate to change it a bit) or Dauntless Delver runs just to keep it intresting. then i took on the snarby shadowlair and then after finishing that (wich was realy fun but just to damn expensive just for having some fun) i realy got bored. i have all the wolver line armors (yeah i just like swording the most and tried bombing and gunslinger wich i didn't realy like that much) picked it up 2 days during the steam gift event playing some lockdown wich i never realy played on a regular basis, and now we are a month later and still don't feel like going on a run :( (was excited with the new monsters and when i encounterd the first one i was kind of disapointed they didn't do anything)

so i have high hopes for the new mision thing, so in a way it's a last resort :D (and oh well diablo III and torchlight II are on the horizon)

Please note, while I am not a

Please note, while I am not a fan of this update and am a little disappointed (as previously stated and why) I did not say it was a bad update. I know devs for other things, I can tell by looking at the wings that a lot of work into creating them. They are not my style, plain and simple. Just as Vitakits, Scarves, and Barrel Bellies are not my style.

I am fully aware new content takes a while to create, especially if you don't want it buggier then Windows ME. I figured that it is being worked on while the various minor promotions are going on, although it is nice to have Eury confirm it. :)
