Today, I did the T3 Operation Crimson Hammer and obviously got the Warmaster Rocket Hammer and I found a trick (some pro players might also have found out this)
First attack: Slash with explosion
Second attack: Dash (with explosion?)
Third attack: Turn around and slash with explosion
Hit (first attack and explosion of the combo) --> Shield --> Hit (first attack of the combo) --> Hit (last and third attack of the combo)
This prevents the use of the dash which can be helpful in many ways.
Just thought I'd share this with all the people with the Hammer.

I know, just that Hammer is a bit special so some players may not think of that (which I highly doubt)
This trick works with all weapons that have multiple-hit combos.
The first attack after you shield is always the first attack in the combo, but if you do it fast enough it increases the combo hit count. Subsequently when you go to make you second attack it'll count as a higher hit in the combo chain.
For instance with DVS if you go
Hit -> Shield -> Hit -> Shield -> Hit -> Hit
The last hit will be the 4th hit in the combo chain.
