I think this should be implemented into the game as it is far more easier than having to open the social tab. (Not that it takes much effort, but yes)

Yeah, very helpful in clockworks, when you want invite someone midfight. Typing that to chat takes much less time than navigating via social tab, clickin on name and clicking invite (paying attention to not click join instead).
