The Graveyard/Undead in Tier 3 is beyond ridiculous. Please balance your game.
As the topic title suggests, it's absolutely ridiculous how much damage the zombies and other crap down there do. Not only that but at times 4 or 5 of them pop out at once and you're just overwhelmed. They take so many bars off with just one hit. It's unbelievable. It's like playing Tier 4 if it existed... that's how unbalanced it is compared to the other themes.
Balance your game ffs.
I agree, the Shadow Damage is not enough on my Shadow Defenseless armor, and graveyards in Tier 3 are far too easy.
Entire graveyard is babies.
I am behind Cain's proposition to make Tier 3 graveyards harder.

Back up more, kite them away from other mobs if you need to, attack them one or two at a time. For GYs, step on gravestones slowly so you don't spawn a bunch at once.
Yes, zombies have ridiculous atkspd and range. They need to be "nerfed", but really, this crazy range is a problem with several monsters. Wolvers, zombies, greavers... The list goes on. No, Phantoms are not ridiculously powerful; With practice and skill they're incredibly easy to deal with.
But please, don't tell us about GRAVEYARDS being unbalanced. That's like, the least of the problems with the balancing right now. Don't make me rant about status effects and Vanaduke for the 57th time.
But it seems you haven't really organized your run very well; You aren't supposed to leave a phantom alive and summon every damn zombie. You need to take it slower and more carefully. Graveyard isn't your usual "slash everything like a berserking madman on steroids".

And they laughed at my Angelic armor and Cold iron carver.
WHOSE LAUGHING NOW, COME MINIONS OF DARKNESS. BRING IT ON.
just shoot them. problem solved.
Try bombs or guns if you can't figure out swords.
The phantoms aren't a problem at all. They're cake. It's just the horde of zombies... I feel like I'm playing Left 4 Dead.
If there are too many zombies, try not stepping on the dirt. That's how you spawn them.
If you don't spawn them, they can't kill you.
bu-bu-bu you must suck if you get hit by zombies
Just get an ash of agni and enjoy easymode.
Try reading those "!" holograms at the start of the level once in a while.
I always figured the graveyards were intended to be more challenging than the other stages since the counterpart is the vault. (Never mind that I'd rather do the graveyard since you get WAY more stuff out of it and it's not bad if you have shadow resist appropriate for the tier...)
get a divine avenger or a cold iron vanquisher and ur problem is solved... I don't see whats killing u in tier 3 It can't be the zombies, it has to be the fiend's with the gran faust right?
also pls tell me ur not tring to hit the zombies multiple times, learn 2 hit once or twice and then block...
I always trigger all the zombies spawns so they bunch up so I can say hi with my divine avenger's charge attack
Goofus assumes the game is the problem and makes a fool out of himself on the internet.
Gallant starts a polite thread about ways to improve his gameplay.
Uh... no. Graveyards are stupid easy even in T3. I usually spawn 8-10 zombies at a time on purpose. The zombies aren't even there to threaten you as much as they are to make you waste time to respawn your Phantom.
I'm good at this game. I just went down the Amber Lion gate in tier 3 (from 18 to the core) and died twice... solo. I just think the zombies do too much damage. There was only like one zombie level in this gate, which is why I did so well. I rather face 10 wolvers at once then a pack of zombies. Wolvers are cake. They can't even hit me, even the boss. I'm a beast at this game.
Pro-tip: use the 360 controller... I move around the map like a gazelle, destroying everything in my path like the beast that I am.

You're not good at this game if you're getting hit by zombies. Literally every other criteria you fulfill is invalidated by being hit by zombies.
Also, dying at all soloing a non-citadel T3 run is also indicative of you being terrible. Unless you get clustered in an arena, you should not die soloing in T3.
I'm terrible at this game, and I don't make it a habit of getting hit especially much by zombies.
Yeah right, dude. You never die... ever. Shutup, nerd.
Also, you know, the reason they deal so much damage is because you have no shadow defense.

I die quite a lot. I am terrible at this game.
And I still don't die to zombies.
Ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. O:
"How DARE Three Rings Design make one stratum difficult! I am the Omega-Gamer and all video games and video game designers should, a) Give me blowjobs and b) Make me feel like I'm Magneto in 1910's Pittsburgh. I'm sorry, I really am, I like this game a lot and I'm incredibly good at it -- as I am at all things in life -- but this is simply absurd. I watched four zombies brutally murder my father -- all I COULD do was watch! -- and I simply wont stand for it anymore. Stand down Three Rings, before anyone else gets (their feelings) hurt! And to all those who mock me, say I should get better, or simply remind me that graveyards are supposed to be hard: shutup, nerd."

watch out hazel, he's going to give you a swirlie after class!! or kick dirt in your eye on the beach!
>I move around the map like a gazelle, destroying everything in my path like the beast that I am.
>Like a gazelle, destroying everything in my path
>A gazelle, destroying everything
>implying gazelles are predators
I'm glad I'm not the only one who realized that.
My brain stopped for a second to get through the "wait, WHAT?!" process.
L2Simile
There only hard because everyone is using normal elemental defence, and not shadow.
OP is an obvious troll, because I don't believe its even possible to get hit by zombies.
if they nerf this game any more than i'll finally be able to play it in my sleep!
As people have said, if you had shadow defense on your gear instead of piercing/elemental, you would find their damage to be pretty normal. But nobody uses shadow defense, because zombie packs can be easily dealt with with practice.
If you're having problems in graveyards, where you generally only spawn 2-3 at a time maximum, you'll never make it past the first floor of Firestorm Citadel.
I thought the first floor was Firestorm Citadel was pretty easy to solo. You just pull/shield-bump everything into the Spiked Wheels o' Doom.
I like that his tip was a "pro-tip," considering the other content in his posts.
Actually, I've done a couple more hours today (much of it versus various zombies... including the super ice and fire ones) and I'm getting used to them. You just have to swing once, maybe twice, then dodge and do that over and over again. It's boring and takes longer but it works.
My name's DeckardCain and I come from Tristram!
If you're looking for Diablo, you just missed 'im!

Actually, you just need attack speed gear and an Avenger/Divine Avenger. Back yourself into a corner, wait for them to get into range, beat your Z key into the floor. Shield after every second hit just in case, but you pretty much won't ever need to as long as the first hit connected.
^ Yeah I use a swiftstrike + leviathan to attack faster
My helm gives shadow def

Swiftstrike won't be of any help to you in T3. It's probably why you're getting bent over.
Get Wise Owlite or Stone Tortoise/Grey Owlite or Omega Shell and you'll be golden.
I'm actually not getting bent over. I've got a handle on the zombies now and most of the others aren't bad.
The mass super gremlins with flamethrowers + healers are impossible but I've only seen them once... the new gate that opened tonight

Gremlins in Deconstruction Zones are just hit-and-run fiestas if you're solo. Kiting them around to separate the healers for long enough to single them out and kill them.
Fractals, dude, he's trying, and he's even getting better. Dumb insults about names are dumb.
On the gremlins in decon zones, I agree with hazel. The idea is to get as much clear area to work with as you can. Flee while charging your sword, come back just long enough to unleash the charge attack, hitting shield as you do (the shield comes up after a charge attack much faster than anything else does) then back off, release shield once you're far enough away to be safe, and do it again. Take out healers when the opportunity presents itself. It can take a little while to figure out some of the tricks and details for specific monsters, but it's totally doable. Empty out the zone of free-running gremlins before you start opening any rooms, and when you do open a room, run as soon as you drop the key, and repeat.
@Sirrocco I know, he just got on my nerves pretty hard. I've seen this guy complaining that X is too hard and Y is too easy, and groan groan groan for a week now. I personally can't fight Retrodes for the life of me, but I can crush Wolvers and Skellies. Does that mean all Retrodes should be nerfed? No, it means I need to find a better strategy. The last fix should be calling for nerfs on what you think is OP. The first fix is looking at the enemy, realizing what you did wrong, and fixing your playstyle.
Uhh what? This is the only thread of this kind I've made, you jackass. Go fractal yourself.

Finally, looks like we're going to have an argument about something other than energy
I've already retracted my statement about this. The zombies are a joke now... I just didn't know how to combat them early on.
Seems like it could be fun with the sun shards bomb *hint hint* lol.
Because of the rising prices of energy graveyards/ undeads become stronger... Low down the prices! Who is with me? Discuss.
I agree. We can see that its incredible graveyard deaths are at all time high, almost wooping 10000 deaths for a small 25 zombies and 3 ghoul. I vote and suggest to low down prices for energy! its almost impossible to buy energy and beat the graveyard. It will make our live better and low down energy prices! Thank you!
I thought about that and bought up the recipes for it. Then I double-checked the wiki and noticed the shards bomb is for FIENDS, not undead.
(Corollary: WTT, Radiant Sun Shards recipe for Ionized Salt Bomb recipe...)
And I don't wanna hear "bu-bu-bu you must suck if you get hit by zombies"... just no. They do get in random hits between slashes and when there's 4 or 5 of them surrounding you in a small area with little room to move around and kite... yeah, good luck. I have all 5 star gear and it doesn't matter. I'm going to have to dedicate an entire setup for the Undead... a weap with Undead, armor/shield/helm with huge undead resist. It's ridiculous. You don't have to do this for the other types of enemies, just these idiot undead.
Sorry, I'm raging right now.
