Hall of Heroes recipes

Okay, I'm going to start off by admitting that I made a mistake and purchased a recipe that I had already learned from the HoH, prompting this post.

After being upset that I had wasted 10,000 cr on a recipe that I can only get maybe 50 cr back for at a vendor, I discussed with my partner some possible solutions. We came up with these:

1. Make the sell price at a vendor higher. This can be 3/4, 1/2, or even only 1/4 of the original price. Since the purpose of HoH recipes is for them to only be accessible to the player who "earned" them, they should be left bound -- however, since they no longer have an avenue to sell the recipe if they have already learned it, at least this way they can recoup some of their loss.

2. Make the buy price higher than Basil, around AH prices, and leave them unbound. This has many benefits: it encourages players to keep doing Basil runs, it still provides players with an easy to access recipe shop, and it deters players from reselling HoH recipes for a profit. If they make a mistake like I did, they can still recoup almost their entire buy price. All of the goals (that I can think of) that OOO wanted to fulfill with the HoH in the first place.

Again, I'm making it perfectly clear that I'm suggesting this because I made a stupid mistake. I'm sure other people have made similar mistakes too when they bought recipes from Basil, but then they were able to resell them on the AH. Nevertheless, I think at least the 2nd suggestion would be an improvement on the system in general.

(Also, if anyone has any ideas what I can do with this now useless recipe, let me know ;) )

Advise.

I do agree if they make the recipe sell price higher at vendor.. because I have made a similar mistake too. :P

1 star recipe = 50
2 star recipe = 500
3 star recipe = 1000
4 star recipe = 3000
5 star recipe = 5000

My advise is don't be careless next time.

Processing Thoughts of You Always

+1 to idea number one.

Currently reward recipes that are already learned are pretty pointless. This would give them a bit more value for those who already have them...

While I don't necessarily

While I don't necessarily agree with implementing idea #1 for the sole purpose of selling mission rewards, I think raising the vendor sell price for recipes is still a good thing. Just like 1-2* weapons that I've used and no longer like anymore, I can sell them to a vendor without needing to unbind them and still get some cr back for my troubles -- not so for bound recipes.

Well

I say yes to #1, but I'll have to say no to #2.

Yeah, people will be doing more basil runs, but the prices at the AH will be jacked up higher, and a new guy who buys a recipe will go down to basil and feel ripped off when the recipe he just bought was there for like 1/2 the price.

At MOST, I think increase the HoH recipe cost a bit. A little trouble for the convenience of having all the recipes they need when they need it, so people still run Basil.

Just make it so you can't buy

Just make it so you can't buy recipes in HoH that you already know. Make them not even show up.
