Is this a joke? It is meant to be the end all to beast types, however i find myself using is mainly for devilites and greavers. Seriously, not funny.
Hunting blade
Make it worse against Fiends (since you are, for some reason, convinced that it is awesome against them)?
Make it better against Beasts?
Change it to Pierce?
Make it shoot out kill-all-Beasts nukes with every swing?
WHAT?
Essentially a damage increase on beasts. I feel if it was turned to piercing, it would be the easiest beast battle yet.
Increase the damage by 20%, decrease damage to all other types by 10%, maintain the bonus VS beast types, and add a damage penalty vs others, weak against constructs
Congrats.
Anyway, I think the big problem with the hunting blade line is a conceptual one. It will simply never be as good as a piercing weapon at what it's supposed to do. Why? Because damage bonuses cap at max. The most you will ever get out of it is base damage + total bonus. A pierce weapon, on the other hand, can also reach max through UVs, armour, etc., *and* it gets the natural bonus from being piercing on top of it.
WHB needs a total revamp, not tweaking. Damage bonuses alone will never be enough to let pure normal weapons compete.
Wild hunting blade SHOULD be full piercing. If i remember right, the cutter series does one swipe, and then a ghost swipe for half the damage of the first?
Well WHB should just be equal on all strikes
DVS does ghost swipes, WHB has Ghost Wolvers that bite after you swing. Essentially the same thing though.
Adding a damage penalty to Constructs is unnecessary if it's pure-piercing.
I think of it as a 5* Beast Basher.

Regular hunting blade would have the penalty, whb will grow out of the penalty
if it is HUNTING blade, it hunts something. not necessarily beasts.
you know, we have flourishes and barbarous swords full piercing, so you migh consider using them. they also have fast combo, which matches the beasts style. and they knock the enemies down in 3 hits, which is useful too.
I have the dark thorn blade, and frankly, while it's awesome for beasts and fiends, it's still the usual three hits, which most of the time, only lands two. (the first swipe pushes far enough to cancel the first stab motion, unless you corner them)
(the first swipe pushes far enough to cancel the first stab motion, unless you corner them)
Shield cancel, walk a few steps towards it, and continue poking it to death with your toothpick.
That or you're attacking it from the Flourish's maximum range; obviously move in a bit, because I can hit them with all three on occasion if I get close enough, particularly on larger targets such as Alpha Wolvers.
Problem?
In all seriousness though, the Cutter and its subsequent upgrades sacrifice damage for... well, more hits.
It's unlikely that the damage will be buffed to match, say, the Flourish or its variants, which were designed to keep multiple beasts/fiends at bay rather than poking at one. Hence the auto lock on.
We don't quite need another beast-killing sword; frankly Flourish works fine for me.
As for normal damage swords; well, if you get them you're probably very well aware by now that they sacrifice pure damage for another function, as crappy as that function is. In this case, landing more hits in a short span of time.
Regular hunting blade would have the penalty, whb will grow out of the penalty
Irrelevant. As Severage says, "adding a damage penalty to Constructs is unnecessary if it's pure-piercing."

Yes, OF COURSE. And we can just get a blade that lets us W+M1 towards beasts and fiends?
I think not.
I don't think so.
Try again.
