Lt. Feron ought to be demoted.

Anyone who has played the Crimson Hammer missions remembers the area right before the final battle of Seerus. In it, we see that the attacking squad of knights was attacked and neutralized by the Stalkers, with only Lt. Feron remaining standing. Feron claims he is too wounded to continue, and so sends you (and your party, if applicable) on to defeat Seerus.
I'm here to tell you why Lt. Feron is a coward, a liar, and above all a disgrace to the Spiral Order.
1. Feron could have easily continued on to fight Seerus, because no matter if he was wounded or not... there are health-restoration pads right before the gate to Seerus! Any one of you has been hit by things MUCH worse than the spinning blades of the Ghostmane Stalkers (Vanaduke's giant fiery mace, a giant Jelly spinning around, huge homicidal gun puppy lasers, etc, etc.). Those health pads have ALWAYS restored us back up to battle-readiness. Feron could not have been hurt enough to be unable to continue. No, obviously he was looking for an excuse to chicken out of fighting big bad scary Seerus, and we gave it to him. Cowardice!
(The only other possible explanation for this is that Feron was unaware of the existence of the healthpads. In that case, he is incompetent to an extreme degree, as the healthpads are only a short distance away.)
2. I'm sure some will think, "Well, Feron was just tired out by his fight with the gremlin ninjas - after all, he did kill the whole lot of them!"
This would be a valid point... IF Feron had indeed slain all of those Gremlins. However, even the most cursory examination of the battle scene proves that Feron did NOT heroically defeat the gremlin horde. The smoking gun? Knockback.
When we come upon Lt. Feron, he is surrounded by the corpses of a dozen or so gremlins. These corpses are all very close to him - TOO close. Tell me, when was the last time you defeated a gremlin and watched it fall by your feet? Never - because gremlins fall backwards several steps with their characteristic flips upon defeat! And that isn't taking into account the knockback of weapons. Even low-force blades like the cutter series and toothpicks have slight knockback, and as a typical Spiral Knight, Feron most likely wields a Leviathan Blade - which has quite a bit of knockback.
No Feron did not defeat all those gremlins. So how did they end up around him? Simple: he let his squad take the majority of the hits from the gremlins, then dragged the bodies of the defeated gremlins into a circle around him, in order to fool us into thinking him a hero! In fact, the entire operation is credited as FERON's assault on the Grand Arsenal, when in fact he did very little of the actual work! Feron is obviously a glory-seeker.
In short, Lt. Feron is obviously guilty of cowardice and deceit of the highest degree, and should not be permitted to retain his high position as a Lieutenant in the Spiral Order!

Feron is 0% MAN and a big coward who can't fight worth a crown, and got his position in the army thanks to his wallet, down with him!

Feron thinks he's so cool under that abnormally large armor, but under that suit of metal, there lies a weak, cowardly, midget. I bet he has no friends and spends his life playing Spiral Knights all day.

"...thinks he's so cool under that abnormally large armor, but under that suit of metal, there lies a weak, cowardly, midget. I bet he has no friends and spends his life playing Spiral Knights all day."
Story of my Life.

I bet its those steroids he took when he was a kid...

Y we hate?
either way, maybe a scene on the frontlines where he actually helps in the fight with you (better than the mechas i might add) would be nice to watch. Well not watch, but observe his unique "tactics".

Nah, It was all a setup. Feron is jelly of us, he lies about being too injured so we go alone and do the hard job, risking our lives in the process.
His plan was to let us die against seerus and strike later, taking all the credit for himself.

Mind-is-blown!
Damn u feron (i will take ur prismatic maedate tho).
nice work sodaaddict. Please keep me advised as to such goings-ons in the clockworks. I'm beginning to think i should move my invisible hand out of the SK economic market (the other invisible hand is on...junk...but i digress), and into the military strength of my bereaved alpha squads.

i will follow you to the front lines of hell. wherever you go, i shall follow. i'll bring the full might of unity with me, and the full accessory inventory of featured auctions to make us look pretty while doing it.

I was already thinking this. Bad place to put Feron in that specific location. I had a team mate with half a pip of health still walking strong. Big guy, low health. SEND FERON TO SHADOW VANADUKE! I want to see that battle...

I should have just bookmarked this. You just spoiled what little I would have learned because I haven't played that mission yet. ;(

Is this some sort of a pattern I'm starting to notice with guardian knights?
It's almost like OOO is telling guardians: "Keep your damn shield up!"

Feron used to fight monsters like other knights, but then he took an arrow in the knee.

Until you solo through the mission in PROTO like Lt. Feron, you got nothing on him.

so...if he gets demoted....then i get promoted! LOOK OUT CRADLE! WE GOT A NEW TROLL EEN TAON!

Devs, please demote Feron. He is not a worthy leader.

The health pads are behind a gate that doesn't open until Seerus is through asking you who sent you. It's possible that, for whatever reason, Seerus wouldn't let Feron through. That then begs the question of why Seerus lets player knights through, but maybe he sees Feron as a bigger threat.
Or maybe the heart pads don't work on NPCs. If NPCs played by all the same rules that players do, there wouldn't be any captured or dead knights.
Just a warning, Twiddle's linked me to a website that tried to download a rogue virus scanner on to my computer after the "Objection!" animation played.
Anyone else having this issue?

No it doesn't. It links to http://objection.mrdictionary.net/index.php, which is a popular online meme site.
Either that, or I now have a virus. I hope not. ):

I don't know whether to take this argument as serious or not myself. In fact, I'm partially tempted to throwing my own opinion at Sodaadict.
Actully, I'll let him send me the invitation if he wants me to, all considering the actual detail of the post.

i should be a GEN. cause I kill people in full5* gear in LD with 3* armor and a 4* sword
No, Feron is a F2Per who just ran out of energy early by having to revive under-equipped squads on previous levels.

Synthesizing Zyborg's analysis with a speculation in another thread that the armor officers wear is an older version of the powered armor most knights wear leads me to the conclusion that yes, the health pads simply don't work on him. In some ways, it might have been a tremendous risk for him to lead the expedition personally, since other knights can pick up hearts and health pads while he can't. He might not even be able to CE revive, in which case if he gets wounded he has to be much, much more careful.
Personally I do not believe a court-martial is in order at the time, though given the entire operation had terrible intelligence (seriously, a Recon Knight wearing a blindfold would have been able to tell the Mortafires were there) and execution, I think an investigation is worthwhile.

@Metagenic
Quoting Kaffaljidhma,

And Arkus kinda ran out of CE in the end anyway. Back to Haven you go!

I have to agree that NPCs don't play by the rules player characters do. If that was the case they would not permanently die :p

Feron might've killed the gremlins with their flips and fell. Feron MAYBE walked in front of them to get the crowns and stuffz.
(OH NO!)

...but he even has a healer in his squad! A healer!

Don't necro/post on old topics please, Necromancy is a evil and forbidden black magic =D

Why did the Spiral Order not take the deadly lasers from scrapped Roarmulus turrets before? Then they could've just killed everything in the entire OCH DLC, not having to worry about CE revs and invisible ninja gremlins, and would've sorted it out like that!
inb4 Ima firin mah lazor -------------------------------------- <(* *<)
Dead Kirby. You fired your lazor into him.^

then what's the point of playing the dlc then if ye are doing this?

yell ya a secret, he is bribed by the gremlins.

He's just special. He's immune to healing pads.
You rude, rude knights. :(
I'm heavily debating whether to take this seriously.
