EEYYY you guys should lookit the newer and improved version of this thing right here. It's much better than the stuff in this current thread.

NOTE: This was my entry to today's QotD in the Treasure Vault. Something along the lines of "If you were to creat the next Spiral Knight expansion mission, what would it be? And what unique rewards would it give?" This has the same basic outline as OCH, but the details are different.

WARNING: This is about fiends. If you absolutely detest fiends (which about 99% of the player base does), DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER. Don't say I didn't warn you. I love fiends so that's why I made this. >:D

I really don't care about what happens to this. I just thought it was cool enough to share with everyone.

Purging the Darkness (PtD)

-------------------------

Description: Spiral HQ has determined the source of where all Fiends come from. Origining from the place called the 'Underworld,' Fiends have been entering Cradle via several portals hidden underground. A mysterious network of underground caverns have been discovered, hidden under the Dark City. Spiral HQ believes that a major portal is hidden somewhere in the labyrinth of tunnels and caves. It is up to you to go and destroy it, and stem the tide of darkness emerging from the Underworld.

Depth 1: Dark Defense - Defenses in the Dark City have been doubled to protect the portal. Fight your way through the city and enter the caves!
Depth 2: Workplace Warehouse - Devilites get their stuff to throw at Knights from this warehouse, and will protect it at all costs. Battle you way through the unrelenting Devilites guarding their prized treasure!
Depth 3: Greaver Graveyard - The Greaver Graveyard is the home to the majority of the Greaver population. Many dead Greavers lie underneath the dirt, buried along with Zombies. Escape from this dangerous place, all the while evading undead Greavers (new monster) and Zombies!
Depth 4: Trojan Treasury - The Trojans keep a hoard of statues in this cave, saving up for new spirits to boost their ranks. Destroy as many statues as you can, but watch out for Lost Spirits, waiting to inhabit those stony behemoths! And be warned, a mythical Golden Trojan guards this treasury of statues.
Depth 5: Portal Protection - You have found the cavern with the portal. swarms of fiends protect the portal. Battle your way to the Crystal Generator, the massive Soul Crystal powering the rip in space, and destroy it!

New monsters:

Warehouse Workers, devilites who keep check of what goes in and out of the warehouse. Throws pens, clipboards, and can turn into any non-overtime, Pit boss, and yesman devilite by reaching into a supply box to throw stuff at you.

Undead Greavers, the reanimated skeletons of dead Greavers. Only has a zoom attack.

The 4 Horsemen: A group of elite Trojans that guard the portal and Crystal Generator.

BOSS BATTLE: The boss would be the Crystal Generator itself. The Crystal Generator is basically a ginourmous Trojan Crystal. It shoots bullets, summons Trojans, has those bullet flails surrounding it, can create vortexes, etc.

Phase 1: The Crystal Generator opens to portal. Several fiends of different varieties steps out and attack. Kill the fiends.

Phase 2: More fiends appear. The Crystal Generator begins to shoot out bullets that deal shadow damage. Kill fiends, damage crystal.

Phase 3: A shield of shadow forms around the crystal. Any attempt to attack, the shield deals shadow damage to you. Several Trojans appear, and Gravition type vortexes appear in the ground. Getting stuck in one deals shadow damage and traps you for 5 seconds before you’re spewed out. Kill Trojans.

Phase 4: The 4 Horsemen appear. They carry more awesome looking versions of normal Trojan stuff. They have a forcefield surrounding their entire body. Lure them into a vortex. If they get caught, their shield breaks while they’re in there. Attack until they’re all dead.

Phase 5: Rage mode. The Generator’s shield has dropped. More vortexes. More bullets. More fiends. KILL THE CRYSTAL GENERATOR.

Death scene: The crystal trembles, and explodes. The portal becomes unstable, and the caverns begin to collapse. All surviving fiends are sucked back through the portal. Make your way to the elevator and pick up a special material called ‘Horseman Shard’

Rewards:

Crystal Continuum: A purple Shard Bomb, made from the remnants of the Crystal Generator. Place two of them down, and crystals shoot back and forth between the two crystals, creating an effective barrier for several seconds. Deals piercing and shadow damage.

2*: Shattered Crystal Continuum
3*: Connected Crystal Continuum
5*: Sparkling Crystal Continuum.

Shadow Shocker: A Devilite gun, stolen from the Workplace Warehouse. It was meant to increase a Devilite’s annoyingness, putting together fast furniture and shock status. Deals shadow damage, with a medium chance of low shock. Normal attack = 3 rapid shots. Charge attack = Purple lightning shoots from gun, high chance of dealing high shock.

2* Static Shadow Shocker
3* Shocking Shadow Shocker
5* Ionic Shadow Shocker

As for the Horseman Shard… Like the Mast of Seerus, you can craft a special item using the shard. In this case, a shield called the Horseman Shield. Looks like a Trojan Shield, only smaller. Shadow Protection, with bonus damage against fiends.

2* Broken Horseman Shield
3* Damaged Horseman Shield
5* Perfect Horseman Shield.

THE END

OK.

i hate fiends etc etc. but oh well here goes:

Undead greavers are a bad idea if there undead (right) because your just copying one thing and making a weak version.

weapons are epic.

Idea is cool, but not many peoples going to like it with devilites xD

would there be secret places? in OCH there's kind of one, because the key is hidden (in a way)

The barrier sound cool but cheap, considering the basic enemy AI and how easy it is to push them.

Well. When I saw 3 new, I

Well. When I saw 3 new, I thought 'Oh boy.' cause I thought that they'd all be posts along the lines of OMFG WAT FIENDS R U STUPIDLYT CRAZIE U MUST BE INSAN FIENDS ARE CRAP MY GOD I CANT BELIEVE U U #&$(*#&$!~

And now I find some positivie comments, with a side of critism. :D

"would there be secret places? in OCH there's kind of one, because the key is hidden (in a way)"

Lesee... Maybe in Trojan Treasure there's a locked gate. Undearneath one of the hundreds of statues scattered around the level could be a button, which when pressed a key drops somewhere, which in turn unlocks to locked gate to TREASURE!

blimp blamp blump. Needz few

blimp blamp blump. Needz few more comments before I let this die completely.

I guess I could post more detailed notes about the levels here, to not make this seems like an empty bump.

Depth 1: Dark Defense - Defenses in the Dark City have been doubled to protect the portal. Fight your way through the city and enter the caves!

So, basically, one of the Dark City levels (maybe the Stygian Steeds one?). Pretty normal, except x2 more monsters.

`

Depth 2: Workplace Warehouse - Devilites get their stuff to throw at Knights from this warehouse, and will protect it at all costs. Battle you way through the unrelenting Devilites guarding their prized treasure!

I haven't really thought of the backgrond for this place yet, but basically, there'd be breakable shelves holding items. Devilites would be everywhere, and Warehouse Workers would too. It a WW reached a shelf, they could grab an object off and change into either a Pit Boss or one of the several variations of Overtimers.

The WW would look like a dark brown Devilite, holding a clipboard and pencil. WHen you're not fighting them, you can see them walking around any nearby shelves, and randomly mark things off on the clipboards. Sort of a little silly bonus feature.

`

Depth 3: Greaver Graveyard - The Greaver Graveyard is the home to the majority of the Greaver population. Many dead Greavers lie underneath the dirt, buried along with Zombies. Escape from this dangerous place, all the while evading undead Greavers (new monster) and Zombies!

Basically looks like a normal Graveyard, except with no phantoms, and undead Greavers can take the place of regular zombies. They look like the skeletons of Greavers, basically. Only tackle attack, no mist. Although maybe the T3 one can shoot bullets?

`

Depth 4: Trojan Treasury - The Trojans keep a hoard of statues in this cave, saving up for new spirits to boost their ranks. Destroy as many statues as you can, but watch out for Lost Spirits, waiting to inhabit those stony behemoths! And be warned, a mythical Golden Trojan guards this treasury of statues.

Think of a very long room stuffed with stone Trojans statues. If you've ever done IMF, you'll remember that part where a large amount of rockets spawn, and you have to smash your way through them, while avoiding flying rockets. This place will be similar to that, except way longer.

Lost Spirits (those floaty white things from Blades of the Fallen) float around and inhabit statues. Trojans that are inhabited will drop crowns and heat, thus making up for the possible lack of lootz from this level. Of course, there has to be a finite supply of Lost Souls, or else this place would become a large crown farm. Either that, or there could be Greavers scattered around.

This is a good oppurtunity for the Golden Trojan to reappeat. For those of you who don't know, the Golden Trojan was... a golden trojan back in beta that couldn't be destroyed. A perfect guardian for this place.

More to be added later.

And I'm back. BOSS BATTLE:

And I'm back.

BOSS BATTLE: The boss would be the Crystal Generator itself. The Crystal Generator is basically a ginourmous Trojan Crystal. It shoots bullets, summons Trojans, has those bullet flails surrounding it, can create vortexes, etc.

The boss room would look like a cave with a giant trojan crystal floating in the middle, with a giant swiling hole in the air that looks rather like the Graviton line when they explode. Nothing really special. Although it needs something special. Jelly has blocks, Snarby has beast bell, Vana has water ord things.

._.

I'd appreciate it if someone could do some concept art. I suck at drawing so much. XP

Bump? But in order to make

Bump?

But in order to make this bump not seem like a bump, I must post something to distract you guys from thinking that this is a bump when it actually is but I want you guys to not think it's a bump even though it is.

Did that work?

I see the shadow shocker and crystal continuum being possibly trollish in LD, but that doesn't matter.

Overall looks good. Make sure to pack some Valk Sets or possibly a Snarby set to survive this mess. :P

Where's my flourish and argent peacemaker...? :)

One post! That's more than I

One post! That's more than I expected. :D

I should prolly clear some stuff up about the Crystal Continuum.

There's some limit of how far apart you can place the bombs, or else you could really troll with the bomb. Haven't thought of how long, though. Also, it doesn't really act as a barrier kind of barrier. When an enemy gets into the shooting shards, they start taking damage and get knocked back and forth. But if they continue to advance, they can clear the crystal and get to the other side.

I still see it decimating JK. And you know what happened with DR when people said that.

BOOOOM

And it's alive! :D I don't know why I keep bumping this thread. :/

Now, concerning the stuff with the Royal Jelly, keep in mind that the bomb also does piercing damage. So it'll actually do minor damage. :/ Sort of like the Sun Shard line against Beasts and Constructs. Split damage, 1 damage resistant, other weak, resistant > weak. The amount of damage the resistance takes away overrides the damage the weakness adds. :/

/e should probably add something else.

Umm...

Wow

A very good idea. I hope the Spiral Knights development team takes a look at this idea ^^

You beat me to it!

I was actually considering a giant Trojan boss, in an expansion. Basically, the knights are on a catwalk, with the giant Trojan, in the enourmous room, like this. Stage 1 _C__C__C__C_E Stage 2 _C__C__C__E(broken)
Sorry, the catwalk actually does a semi-circle around him, but this wont let me show it.

The Trojan Boss in the center of the room, being invincible, must be hit by the cannons (C) to break his shield(temporarily). The adventurers hit the switches to shoot the cannons at the weak points in his sheild. The cannons must recharge like the beast bells, but they recharge at a signifigantly slower rate. All the while the knights are barraged from all sides by smaller trojans(still pretty big though), not invincible from the front, but have a lot of health and can smack you to australia if your not careful. Hello, mates. And he can hit the catwalk, dazing or flattening any knight slow, unaware, or simply unfortunate enough to be in the way. (hurr hurr) Anyway, when the big guy's shield breaks, an elevator(E) Activates, and the knights go down on it, to the cavernous floor, to beat the potatoes out of him while he's slumping on the floor. That's the first stage. Then he gets up and "attack boosts", blasting everyone to the catwalk, stunned and shocked. Stage two engages. He smashes faster now, and the catwalk partialy falls off at various times. Also more Trojans spawn, and he pulsates every so often, shocking knights close to the catwalk edge aka then cannons. Then, when he recieves a substantial amount of damage, he engages stage three. His smashes now can curse, and trojans spawn like crazy. He smashes the catwalk and then it breaks (D:) and your knights tumble to the floor, where the final stage takes place. His back crystal explodes, and he shrinks, to above trojan size. You engage in battle with him, while he dashes around, smashing and bashing you poor little knights like there's no tomorrow. Hew can be hurt from all sides, but he is built like a tank, to compensate. When you beat him, you get a Trojan Shard, as a reward. They can be used for god knows what. Please tell me what you think about this.
