Some concept idea I tried to put together in paint. (4*) The 3* won't have the glowing portions and the 5* will be shattered but held together with a glowing blue light.
I wanted it to look more like just the handle that is sticking out behind the hand with the hand wrapped in chains. It doesn't drag on the ground because of it's innate power.

Concept art 2.0 with spikes
3* Mavors (old latin name of Mars)
A chain blade so sharp as to pierce the armour of the gods.
Piercing
ll|llll|llll|llll|l---|----|----|----|----| (damage bars as par the wiki @ lvl1)
Two swing
First swing hits for piercing damage (like a first swing from a grintovic). Second swing the weapon extends on its chains to extend hit box to 3 squares. Attacks slightly slower than troika line series.
Charge swings blade around in full 360 degree spin at maximum range, catching all normal sized monsters (e.g. no lumbers, bosses, turrets, etc.) when it gets back to the starting point the blade is ripped back towards the player doing 190% damage of the combo's first swing. Enemies within one space of the player will not be caught but can get hit if they are in the way of the blade whilst being pulled back.
4* Glaukopis (epithet of Athena)
A razor sharp weapon of incredible power. There are few that can handle it's burgeoning power

Enemies within one space of the player will not be caught but can get hit if they are in the way of the blade whilst being pulled back. Has a slight chance of causing minor shock.
5* Fulgur (latin for lightning bolt)
A shattered blade with unimaginable power. The flash of it's attack spells doom for all but the maniac wielding it.

On high graphics levels there will be shadow blade following much like the spur series. The difference is that there is a full second delay and it does no damage.

Yes? No? OP? UP? You tell me. All constructive comments are welcomed be they positive or negative. If you flame or troll please at least be good at it.
If anyone wants to put together some real concept art I will be eternally grateful. Engineering student here, don't gots no artistic talents and all that jazz.
Edit: V1.1 added some more spaces for better readability. Also edited my ideas for how it looks.
Edit: V1.2 added new art based of Luguiru's ideas. Removed causing shock on second hit of 5*.
I need my giant sandwich break. I will edit this post to have my response in about half an hour.
Until then, please enjoy this video.
The intermission is now over but the preceding content will be retained.
Finally, a pierce heavy sword, time to see what it looks li- What is this? It looks like Troika and Vanquisher had a love child with Voltedge somehow involved. A pierce sword has to be pointed or spiked to impale the target, not whatever that thing is; I can appreciate the effort but it is obviously the bastard child of existing weapons which are irrelevant to pierce damage. Try taking the Troika line model and adding spikes along the blade edge, or along the lines of whatever this thing thinks it is; something which punches a spike into the target with every swing. Obviously the previous image is not a realistic reference; for this to be applied to a heavy sword mechanic the spikes would be shorter and pointed further away from the main blade line so a sweep will catch onto them. No, I do not skip around town with a sword murdering people to know this; I would be caught too easily.
I like the charge attack; you spin, catching enemies on the spikes, but I have a few different ideas for how this could work. The first spin catches the enemies (mobile ones, including Lumbers; imagine a wave of them being caught at once) and when the spin returns the blade to its starting position the enemies are "detached", followed by another spin to inflict significant damage. Having the blade "rip back" seems more fitting with a weapon designed to impale, such as the previous image; thrust it into their body, then rip it out along the linear form of the blade. A heavy sword is too large and absurdly enormous to do that.
For the basic attacks, keep it the same as Troika line for simplicity; no need to make it swing slower or change the swing range.
Having a status only appear at 5* helps balance, but not if it has all the previous mechanics with strong shock; for balance it ought to be less. You may also want to change the status to only occur from the charge attack, using the spikes as discharge points for electricity when "hooked" by the first spin.
