Seeing as to that I don't need to craft any more equipment really, yet still want to assist in needlessly making the price of CE rise, I'm going to need a use for the energy I'm buying. I don't know why, but it feels good knowing that I'm raising the price of energy for the next person who needs to buy energy. Making more energy sinks will be good for the game because it will make you more money, and if you get more money, you'll be able to hire extra team members so that you can make more content at a respectable rate.
Currently, the player base has a ton of people that will leave just as fast if you make them buy 100 energy with 22K as they currently already are. These are players who don't really do much but hang out in Haven with their already good gear- if they had a bigger energy sink, they'd buy more from you. And why make them sell it for crowns? Why should they work and put their money into letting other people make gear at a reduced rate? Reward them for giving you their energy, not new players who want to play the game for free. The end game consists of seeing who can bid the most on things like auras, and other "rare accessories". If the price of energy was driven up substantially, it would allow for the wealthy P2P player to make larger bids, which would not only make them look far more boss-like, set new records in terms of placing a bid, but would also mean that these items would appear to be rising in value, as they would have larger numbers by them. This would allow for you to make less promotional items for people, and for those that you do make to be more valued.
Another thing that this helps is the situation with new players. New players beg, and are bad on runs when you decide to go on them. If we raise the price of energy, we'll cut these beggars off- and keep the community small and tidy. You know, consisting of the people who spam smiley faces in general, as opposed to the ones who ask for stuff and complain about the game being greedy etc. Speaking of people who spam smiley faces and sit in haven and do everything spiral knights related except play spiral knights, we need more of that. When I go into Haven, it makes the player base look much larger when I see everyone sitting around talking by the Auction House. Even if it is only a few rich players, it gives people something to strive for. Given the price of energy, it will take F2Pers quite a while to get to the level of those bearing end game items like accessories and unnecessarily high UVs.
The best part of this is the players who try to fight it. They post things like "Enrg 2 hi" in general, which gives the regular forum goers someone to make fun of once in a while, or should the price of energy be constantly rising, every day almost. I love watching as people's dreams of getting gear and having fun while not grinding for hours get crushed in front of my eyes, it makes me feel better, as I have a low self-esteem. That being said, my favorite part of this is when they try to understand the economy incorrectly, and suggest something strange like breaking the CE depot. And then watching them give up and leave is pretty good too- I even get some free stuff from that. Ooh, and as a side note, you should push the danger missions back a month or two and have like 5 more CE promotions. I love seeing the rich P2Pers delve into fashion, as well as trying it on in the Auction House. And besides, CE promotions are such a great compromise for everyone- you guys get more money, and the players get more end game content.
It could be the giant-sandwich-lethargy, but I am completely unable to tell whether this is sarcasm or serious.
