Greetings, and welcome to Shuichi’s Art Commission Stand.

What I’m offering:
I am willing to create a piece of art work in exchange for Crowns or Crystal Energy. My price for each drawing is, 1,750 Crystal Energy. (Crown exchange can also be accepted, depending on what the current Crystal Energy Exchange Rate,) (Prices are subject to change.) I also charge extra for additional characters. Tips are welcomed! XD

I like to do my version of humanoid Spiral Knights Characters. Portraying expressions is one of my favorite things to do. ^^ Anyway, if you wish to see some examples of what I do, they are below (plus completed commissions).

I am willing to create anything you wish for me to draw, and I will use my magic to create something you’ll enjoy! I will not create anything that's inappropriate, such as gore, or nud*ty (you can fill in the blank on that word :P). Moving on, I am also willing to create something that is not Spiral Knights related. So cute little neko girls, or fan art from your favorite cartoons/animes or even different games, as an artist, I am willing to learn new things and hopefully improve my skills.

Prices: (All payments are require to be paid up-front, meaning I require the payment before I produce the goods ;D No half payments allowed. Also No refunds!)

1,750 Crystal Energy – Per Image (Colored/Black and White)
875 Crystal Energy – For Plain Line Art (No color)
250 Crystal Energy – For every Additional Character in the image.

Alright, I'd like to make an order for a commission of my and my husband's knights.

If you could do this pair of knights, that would be great. The ongoing thing between us is Sol giving Tev a flower, so you could incorporate that if you want, but if you have a better idea for a pose, that's alright too. This particular incarnation of Tev is generally an enthusiastic go-getter, while this Sol is more the aloof type. Weapons and shields are optional.

Is Shuichi the knight name you'd like payment sent to? And would you rather me friend you to find you for a trade, or just send it via the mail system?

And yes, 5$ pretty much means a quick sketch, but as you can see, what I do is not a quick sketch.

Sad to say this...

I'm a bit sad to say this but, there have been a very big accident at work... (Around closing time, one of our coolers over heated and caught fire and the shop almost burned down... its okay everyone is safe). But because of this, I've been busy with clean up and taking inventory. The commissions I've been currently working on, and my future commissions are going to be postponed until we've finished the clean up at work. >< Sorry for the delay.

Hey Shuichi,I'm really fascinated by all of the Spiral-Art that you have done. Currently I'm really into sketching things onto notebooks and all. But the lines and colors are awfully faint when I scan them/take photos. Is it possible for you to give me any links to guides for things like digital art? It doesn't have to be the way you create your art (It could be a secret *gasp*, a secret program *gasp*, a secret program which requires a secret code *gasp*), I just want to find a way to create my own art :D. Not for energy/crowns, but for enjoyment :P

Well, first of all, when drawing, I take time in planning and making out sketches. Trying to think which and or what would look good. I originally was a traditional artist, meaning I use Pen and Paper a lot. Normally when I do that I would find my own style, but as I became more serious about how my artwork would look, I looked at drawing books, and even tutorials on Deviantart (Which they have alot of). A person that I learned from is an artist on Deviantart named "Pandabaka", or "Moni158" they have very nice tutorial sections about lineart and body structures and what not. And there are many more. When doing digital, I pretty much use the same steps I would in making traditional artwork. But, digital and traditional are two different things. But when creating your own artwork, originality is key (that's what I think). It's nice copying other people's artwork and using theirs as a stepping stool to get better, but making your own and creating it yourself brings more satisfaction! Plus... PRACTICE IS KEY!!! Keep drawing! Even if its just doodles, don't give up, and never say your artwork is bad! Always believe that every piece you make is a stepping stone in getting better!

We had a science project in school, to make it easier we were split into groups of 5. This is a very good tutorial I keep in mind. XD I really like how she renders her lineart. I'm still not as good as her, but I keep trying to improve!

And as for anatomy, i use this http://moni158.deviantart.com/gallery/26778761 ^^ All her examples I too try to use. Though I'm still practicing on putting proper clothing on characters xD

Now, some tips:

It's rather difficult to explain it, but, if you can make your lines thicker, like in Pandabaka's tutorials, your image would look less flat, and pop out more! >=3 Give it a try, thicken those corners, and see how it does. When doing so, it really brings life to the drawing! ;D

Do you have any tutorials on faces such as hair, eyebrows, and the head itself. While you are typing your next message, I'm going to be drawing some more emotions :P. (Once I've gotten the hang of faces, eyebrows, heads, hair, etc I'm going to "try" and draw a character to represent my name (Both Xxpapaya and Slenderbrine {More commonly used})

XD there is no such thing as "hang of faces, eyebrows, heads, hair, etc." To get better you have to keep drawing them over and over and over and over and over and over again until you literally can draw them with your eyes closed!!!!! xD I cant draw hands, or feet, and I still lack the skills of drawing creases in clothing, or muscles, and pretty much all anatomy. The only way to get better, is to keep drawing! Keep on drawing, and keep on improving! xD

And..., if you're interested in a commission, and don't have the ce, I do accept crown payments. I believe current crown payments would be around the 140k - 150k crown range. It's easily obtainable by farming Lord Vanaduke.

Three! *blushes* It'd would be an honor, but a heads up. If it's going to be a guild group picture with over 7 characters, most probably, the image will be done in lineart (which is just simple detailed lines) or chibi (meaning cute adorable and less detailed). I do this to save on time, and can get to my other customers as fast as possible. With my current situation in real life, (which has still not been settled), I'm currently only getting a few hours to draw, which is setting me back on commissions. FEAR NOT!! I'M STILL WORKING XD!

It's been a while...

It's been a while... for the past two weeks, I have been extremely busy. Work has been hectic, with the fire in the back room, and with tossing everything we sold at work out. It was alot of hard work, but insurance is gonna pay for both me and my brother working >=3. The only fun part about cleaning out the shop was dumpster diving. Other than that, I'm off to looking for a new job. (hopefully)

But with the little amount of time I got each day, (that is coming home and taking a shower cause of the smell of smoke on my clothes and then collapsing in a deep slumber,) I managed to finish Sailor Mercury's commission. I was wondering if you could give me some guilds on anatomy, I had a look at Pandabaka's and moni158's (thank you Panda and Moni =)) anatomy drawings but, they were more of examples than actual guilds. The only thing I know so far is that you have to simplify everything into basic shapes.

Well Papaya, when it comes to anatomy, there are many books and references out there. As for Deviantart, simply click in the search field and search anatomy, you'll get a lot of examples for it. Anatomy is pretty difficult, but also very simple. It's rules are very easy to remember. So, I hope that helped a little. =3

Wow, just by looking at the drawing book you sent me, my head was *this* close to imploding. I'm more of a visual learner than a..................what do you call a person who learns better by reading? Verbal Learner? Well anyways, I'm more of a visual learner and the first few pages of the book were *this* close to knocking me out. Gonna spend my free time just reading through the entire thing =) On the bus, in the car, in the elevator (fine maybe not), etc. I prefer paper books over digital ones, I don't know why. Well, as far as I'm concerned, the future of paper books isn't looking bright for me.

School is not letting me do any reading for these few days(and weeks). I swear the teachers are physic and are trying to ruin my life (fine, maybe not, I actually quite like homework, better then homework from my parents anyways). Can't wait till the holidays come, and my mum says I read too much -_-. More like too little.

@Papaya: You're welcome! The book has lots of diagrams and stuff in it, too, so looking at those should help. I actually just ordered the paper version of this book myself, as I prefer paper books as well. I like to look at the digital version of a reference book to see if I will use it before I buy it though, and when I first got the digital copy, the paper was still out of print.

So sorry its been taking me a while to finish commissions. >=/ My current one is giving me quite a challenge xD. I'm not the greatest with animals, especially mythical animals...
