For all you Young Forumers here:

If you feel offended that your thread has been burned, critsised,
Read this:
You may think we're jerks, but,
We also have to deal with imprudent, rude, self-centered children who don't understand critisim and think that this forum is for "Plzputdiskthxbai.
When we try telling them nicely, we get angry ranting.
We then have to go into into shoot down/cynical mode. We have to do this like one every week.
We used to be more nicer, where people posted good,well-through ideas.
Then those people come, with their half-thought ideas that most of the playerbase have decide should not be even suggested due to those people not understanding the game(Dual weilding without shields, Remove CE, Houses, healling weps, ect) and these push down the good ideas.
Live in our shoes for a day, then you will see why we are "Jerks".
Also, Insult one of us,
It's fair game."
So, if you're going to be straining an arguement on some dudes thread, acting butthurt, being rude, being hyprocritical about the reason they are acting rude,
Just think of the concequences.
You can see that there is someone of that horrible standard.
But there are people of better standards.
Heck a guy who joined a few months back(to the game) and is acting better than others, and a previous guy who was that stereotype is also acting better.
So please don't act like that.
Step in our shoes for a bit.
Accept that not everything you do is right.
From the words of a Chroma Whelp:
"Always lurk before you post, that way you will know possible reactions if you post something. It really bothers me when people don't know what they're doing if they have the ability to learn."

I meant the ones who looked here and decided to post their first suggestions.

I'm going to post my new ideas on pets and energy and and and and- WAIT! I'VE GOT IT! I'll look to see if the existing forum goers want me to post my ideas! I'll go on before I post, and be courteous enough to look at whether my ideas are wanted! Never mind looking to see if they've been suggested before, that doesn't matter, what does matter is if the older forum-goers care about my post!

Make it so every time this subforum is opened/logged into it automatically redirects to the rules, then by going through the little white lettered links to the forum itself.

as a majority of the sheet ideas won't be implemented in game anyway:D

Moar "my idears..." threads. Those are awesome. Everyone should just go and post threads with the titel "My Ideas", "My Suggestions" or "Some of my ideas". Those threads become instant classics.

"Plzputdiskthxbai"
Yes, it's true. That's what they are always thinking.

You're absolutely right. I kinda was immature. But you were just critising me. It's ok now. For now on I won't care if I get critisim. I understand what I did. But it stinks my ship attack thread was deleted if it was. For now on. I'll stop being an immature brat. I admit I kinda was. :P

You have seen the light. Now help us make others see it too.

is god bless the shining bastion of hope that is you guys

Always lurk before you post, that way you will know possible reactions if you post something. It really bothers me when people don't know what they're doing if they have the ability to learn

its a shame that all of the stuff your saying will probably just go out the other ear for the ''younger players.'' im just saying, if u were in their shoes, and had the same attention span as them, would you really want to listen to some random dude who you probably wont ever see in their life? if they wanted to be lectured by someone older than them, they would just go to school or something along those lines. i mean come on, it wouldn't be an mmorpg if there wouldn't be at least some annoying younger players out there. for all of u veteran players/ thread posters, there's no absolute way to make the youngsters change, no one likes to listen to somebody who acts like ''jerk'' when you post a stupid thread about hover boards, or something like that.
Considering I was like that about a year and a bit ago: as long as they aren't completely closed off idiotic 'gtfo-Im-always-rite' sort of people, there should be some influence.

i hate to say it, but it honestly wont, the younger players don't really know the fundamentals about forums (like i did a a few months ago) if your gonna try to make them change, at least tell them the that your criticism is what people are supposed to do in forums,as long as its constructive criticism, im OK with that, but dont just blow them off and treat them like their a bunch a unintelligent kids, and tell them to get of the forums.if u do it that way, maybe they might think about changing.

Younger kids also can't handle most critisism.
I
Look back. Some will act irrationaly to constructive.
Psy also ecountered that type when here was a more construtive crtisciser(?).
Also, Dougknight.
There are people like Delta.
If we help them, it's better than not doing it at all....

"From the words of a Chroma Whelp:"
:D

looks like whatever we do, we will just be wasting our time then, so im not even gonna bother. P.S why do u type lines instead of paragraphs? it makes it more confusing to read :p

And PLEASE try typing your idea into the search box, see if there's anything close to your idea, read that check out the answers, if you think you can improve then by all means post away, if not go back to the drawing board.

Always think about the idea and if you don't know if it should be publish, your "Search bar" friend can help you. If it's published, read the comments and you will see how much protection it gave you. Thank the search bar

get irritated for trying to be nice to people who think Plsputdiskthxbai(haha, its a nice word =)) because you put this thread. But then THEY will get irritated of getting more ideas that will probably be hard to think of. IRONY!
~~Abyssal-Flamberge

Dont get offended by what people say about your ideas. It is constructive critisism. They are trying to help you improve your ideas.

Just remembered this was here, so bump. Always useful for people to read and understand, we aren't actually trying to be mean to them. Usually.
<(^_^)>

I agree.
I don't see an issue, when people say "-1, This is pointless because...", but if they just say "No" or "-1", then that's not constructive criticism. Constructive criticism doesn't mean you have to be a nice critic; it simply means that you give details and advice to a post.
If you say "No.", it's best to give a reason why.
Also, to anyone who think that it's hypocritical to criticize a thread, when you don't think their suggestions are great...well.
THAT'S NOT HYPOCRISY!
It's all based on opinion. If it's fact, then it would be hypocrisy, but if you simply express an opinion, then it's not.
Okay, I don't see a suggestion so graveyard it. Right now!!

You seem to need this guide.
and you Dumb Bass,
Forget that this was made during a warring period Atrum made this while this was happening.

It's amusing when junior forumers attempt to boss senior forumers around.

I'm a young forumer but I'm an old timer on the game
Which puts me in a difficult situation sometimes. I thought this game was more about helping each other but when you come on the forum it's a pure slaughter.
Yes some "old timer" on the forum seems to feel like "my opinion is SK opinion" while sometimes they are right, other times it is not true. Like when I see Zeddy Balance Thread with older forumer agreeing with him I'm like... "those "balance" are totally unbalanced" but I seem to be the only one to see it (seriously MSI VH is unbalanced)
I sometimes fear where the "old timer" on the forum will do to this game... If I recall it is because of these "old timer" on the forum that the mobs got nerfed? I mean you were there when it was suggested, why did you not burned it to the ground?
I have mixed feeling towards older forumer... Some I like, some I find egoist and elitist

"I thought this game was more about helping each other but when you come on the forum it's a pure slaughter."
I think you mean "pure stupidity". Forums are for intelligent discussion, not for people who can't debate without getting offended.
"Like when I see Zeddy Balance Thread with older forumer agreeing with him I'm like... "those "balance" are totally unbalanced" but I seem to be the only one to see it (seriously MSI VH is unbalanced)"
That's because you don't understand Zeddy lol.
"If I recall it is because of these "old timer" on the forum that the mobs got nerfed?"
No, it was whiners on the forums who get things nerfed.
Some I like, some I find egoist and elitist
I assure you, most of the ego and elitism come from newer to medium aged forumers.
Old Timers are a little snappy and long-winded.

The forums do get pretty harsh sometimes. I keep having to tell folks to simmer down and "from now on, explain why the idea is bad without telling the poor newbie he sucks and has no life". (Well, okay, that's exaggerated, but you catch my drift.)
As far as Zeddy's Armor Balance thread goes, I personally remember agreeing with it. Lowering the defensive value of offensive armors makes sense, since as it is Royal Jelly is only marginally better at taking hits than Skolver.

Doctorspacebar, exactly.
Sometimes I think that some people say "No." without a reason, because everyone else disagrees, so they think they'll feel like an outlier if they agreed.
It could be for offensive reasons, but that's highly doubtable.
You have to have a reason why you disagree.
I don't have a problem with people who criticize people in ways that others call them "jerks", but the issue I have is when people say no or -1 without a reason.
If you say no without a reason, then you don't disagree, because there's no logic or supporting details behind dissension.

I attempt to expound upon the reasons I disagree with someone's silly re-post, though sometimes that doesn't help.

That's because you don't understand Zeddy lol.
I can feel where he comes from though, he has the right intention but his (or her) balance wasn't the best I've seen and needed work.
Other than that I feel re-assure to know that not everyone I originally thought was an old timer on the forum.
As I mentioned. I'm an old timer on the game (started June 2011, really close to the start of SK on Steam if not at the start of it, I've seen the hourly lottery, the DA glitch and all those lovely thing, like the birth of BN and LD) but I don't tend to stay much on the English forum, I don't like the mood of it but I occasionally come by to give feedback (mostly on Suggestions or to goof off in the General section).
Although with the GM speaking a bit more than usual I will put more thought into the suggestion forum and may "abandon the sinking ship" afterward.

Old timer doesnt mean been here for a long time. It's experience based, not time based. The more you post, the better you get.
Foruming level is now 34!

Old forumers don't just agree with other "oldies", at least not per se. Most of the older suggestions are just a lot more thought through and better written. Some problems might even get +1 because people just want to see something done. The MSI you mentioned is a problam as old as time and has to be fixed. The reason everyone agrees is exacly because it needs the love and almost everyone agrees on a huge buff (20% MSI upwards). Of course you wouldn't be greeted kindly when you express your opinion on a topic that has been around for nearly a year where everyone has FINALLY reached some kind of consensus.
That's the same as with "Two handed weapon! Dual wield!" threads. It gets tedious to answer the some idea over and over. Or start explaining something.
A good sentiment. And, am I a young forumer or old? Just checking... X3
