Steam Authentication Error

The dreaded Steam Authentication error has hit me. Has anyone ever found a fix for this? Tried restarting steam, restarting my computer, deleting ClientRegistry.blob file, only thing I haven't tried yet is uninstalling Steam, and I don't really want to do that at this time.

I got that several times some
I got that several times some moments ago and now it's hitting me with the "temporary network outage" as well switching back and forth between the two. Usually after saying "logging in" for 3 minutes straight so it's getting pretty annoying.
The thing is this happened to me in the middle of a dungeon.

Hmm...
I went from getting the temporary network outage error to getting the Steam authentication error. The time for the message to appear went from taking 5 minutes to being instantaneous. I'm with you @Darune I'm getting bloody annoyed with it.

So is this just happening with Steam users only? If this tends to be a problem I hope there's some way to take your character to an actual SK account. Cause this is getting absolutely aggravating.

No wonder a lot of my friends weren't on.
You can still get on SK for now by using the web client and 'login with facebook', then log in with steam when it takes you to the sk website.

That is exactly what's happening to me. It'll spend a few minutes trying to log in, and then it gives me one of the two error messages.

I have the error too.
I have the error too. Experienced a problem authenticating with steam. It was running fine for me earlier, I logged off and came back just now and Im getting the error.
Update: Got the network outage message as well, then it went back to the authentication error.

Same thing here. :| Restarting steam doesn't work.
Edit: Now it says network outage. Maybe the server's just down.

ugh adding my self to this list it seems that everyone who plays spiral knights using steam is having this issue hmm... not sure what to do as ive tried logging onto normal sk with my alt acct and is works fine but using steam version still saying the same thing .. as said by previous comments made by everyone else o.0 oh dear this isnt good ><

Tried un/reinstalling... no luck.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Spiral Knights within Steam, but that did nothing for me.
Same error authenticating with Steam.
I wonder if any Steam users are not having this issue? or if it is affecting all Steam SK accounts?

Along with my ele pass, I have other items wasting away since I can't log onto the game through Steam. I too wish my main SK account was not in Steam. I have no issues with any other games through Steam, just this stupid SK. I wish I could just use the normal SK and log in and get my Steam game stuff, this blows and it happens too often.

I have the exact same views as @Anunnaku. Having read a few threads it sounds like this isn't the first time it's happened? So maybe it's time SK gave us the option to sync our accounts and be rid of the Steam burden. I for one linked it through Steam thinking it would be the most professional way of doing it; thus leaving me without error's or problems. But look where that's got us.

Not the first time nor that last
I've been playing this game on Steam a couple of months after it came out, and this is not the first time this happened. It happens a lot, and I wish I could unlink it from Steam and just run it without, there never seems to be any issues running my other account without Steam. In another thread a GM or Mod or whatever was trying to pass the buck onto Steam, but everytime I have this issue it's 3 OOO that's apologizing, not Steam, so I highly doubt it's a Steam issue, it's an issue with the authentication servers that you connect through to connect to SK. You would think after all this time this issue would not exist. But they never have any issues taking my money, just with letting me play a game that I pay to play. >\:-| Grrrrrr

I don't know @Reconsix, in another thread it's explained that non of the third party games launched through Steam are working at the moment. It may just be an issue on Steam's side. @Babyice I had that too, when trying to launch it through the website I was being told that the application was running somewhere else; and believe me it wasn't.

Yea I'm not having any issues with any other Steam games, just SK. This game also randomly CTD, lags worse than any other game I've ever played, but yea let's not blame the Devs huh. It's Steams fault. (rolls eyes)

i agree with Anunnaku as we shouldn't blame SK or three rings etc as they have nothing to do with this problem as it resolves around steam and its players so the best thing for us to do is hope and await the answers to this situation.. anyway hope all gose well ^_^ back to studies ..
