DISCLAIMER: I know this has been suggested several times before. However, the ideas were not fleshed out enough.

In many MMORPGs, players can settle a disagreement (or maybe just duke it out) by dueling each other 1 on 1.

I've seen my fair share of arguments in the game, and I've always wondered if they could battle out there differences. In addition, it would be pretty cool if I could challenge my friends one-on-one rather than seek them out in LD.

The battle would be a to-the-death fight. You would click on a player, and select "duel". This sends the player a request to duel. If he accepts, you enter a duel ring instance. Players then fight till one dies, and victor gains a small amount of (maybe 10?) Prestige.

Is this a good idea, or should I change it?

You should graveyard it. You're right, it has been suggested before. It's been suggested in more detail too.

Weapons arent balanced agaisnt each other (trollaris or any gun vs a sword/bomb)

Another problem is where and how to fight. Knights in LD die too fast. It would be a shame to go over all the trouble of challenging someone and loading the map, all for 5 seconds of fighting.

My friends and i have been arguing in whos better like forever and in LD i can't seem to find and kill him :/
